Congolese Music / Generiques shorter than 5 minutes

OK, so I was bumping this tune from Patrouille des Stars throughout the past few weeks, and I was impressed. Because not only did the opening song for their first album last less than 3 minutes, but those three minutes were hot. Way to leave an impression on the listener.

On to the topic, it's rather unusual for generiques to last less than five minutes, let alone the length of this one. What other short generiques come to mind for you?

I've had a little shower thought earlier and I wanted to share it. If you were an atalaku, who would you be influenced by? How would you animate? I see my style being a more melodic style based on Bill Clinton's, with some influence from Azanga from Defao's Big Stars and Ocean Ebale.

Congolese Music / Similarities between lesser-known songs

A few days ago, I was listening to G7's Nouvelle Griffe album. As I got to the sixth track, it took less than a minute for me to realise that I had heard that arrangement from another song a long time ago. After another listen, I realised that it was a lot like a song a band called Rumba Japan would do a few years after G7's version. What's up with that? Did one of G7's members join or form Rumba Japan and take that song with him? Not everyday you experience the feeling of deja vu.

To my surprise, I have been registered with Congo Vibes for two years but I was completely unaware. After years of lurking, now's the time for me to finally make my move. I look forward to enjoying my time here with you.
