« on: August 13, 2022, 08:20 »
The whole video cracked me up the way he was attacking Werrason where he says a leader should be a natural good singer now some leaders you just hear "Kibens voila comme ti a grande". :D :D :D

The Congo-river is really large between Brazzaville and Kinshasa. I think even more larger than the distance of  Instabul's part in Asia and that of Europe that are connected by bridge recently build in 2004. There were  plans of building a bridge somewhere in the 80s, but Zaire had at his side already to much debts (Inga II, Nsele, etc.).

In the time of Laurent Desire Kabila, that of Joseph Kabila and Felix Tshisekedi, the project came back. But some politicians and people coming from the Kongo-Central were against. In their opinion a bridge between Kinshasa and Brazzaville would go into DR Congo disadvantage and make Brazzaville profit alot in economic terms and makes grow the city Pointe Noire on the coast even more. Also killing the economic activity in its port towns of Boma and Matadi, which are key contributors to our economy. Some even went far and want to see Kongo Central becoming independent if Kinshasa would accept the Brazzaville-Kinshasa deal.

DR Congo doesn't have a port in deep water which makes the goods already being expensive when arriving in Boma and Matadi, next to the exaggerated high douane charge. Both ports are in shallow water for big boats, so when a big boat arrive they have to get rid of the sand in the Congo river which cost alot of time and money. Which why businessmen and people prefer to do their stuff in Pointe Noire and with a bridge between Brazzaville and Kinshasa, ittotally kill the Kongo Central province. Kongo Central lives from it since that many cities (Madimba, Kisantu, Kasangulu, Kimpese and Mbanza Ngungu) are situated in the Kinshasa - Matadi route and big trucks passing by. Imagine the bridge being build that's total suicide for a province that's already poor and also for the country itself.

There were since the era of Mobutu plans to build a big port in Banana which is at the Atlantic coast. But the notables chiefs coming from Boma and Matadi were totally against and did everything to block the project. This because they didn't want people in these cities losing their job. But things changed from the 2008/09 when Joseph Kabila's clan took total control of both ports, always getting 90% of the profits. It made people not being able to make profit, employees losing their jobs, many activities going down and a crisis starting in both cities. Kuluna started to appear in both cities due to poverty and no jobs being available.

With the plans of the bridge between Brazzavilla and Kinshasa, those of Kinshasa want to have the port of Banana first before building the bridge. Because with Banana it would make DR Congo rebirth. Felix Tshisekedi recently put the first stone of it's building. However, there are reports that French companies based in Pointe Noire are doing everything to block the construction of port in Banana. Because with Banana they would make less profit. Another thing is that environment activists are afraid that the port would kill the Mangroves National Park.
Great insights @Mfumu. I have always wondered as to why there's no bridge. The building of the Banana port makes economical sense even for inner towns from the port would benefit greatly from the increased traffic of goods contrary to the earlier apprehension of the Chiefs. Its definitely more beneficial than a bridge with reliance on a port from a neighbouring country, though the bridge maybe cheaper to build than a port would cost.

So Celeo Scram was right about RR not properly paying musicians. :D :D

OT: Why isn't there a bridge between Brazza and Kinshasa over the Congo River. Is it because of the same animosity between the two peoples or what?

Rest in peace to Kasoul Chalkdri 00100 he left the choreography the first time they performed it hours before the release of Vision album and about 2 weeks before he passed on. Starting at 1hr:04minutes.

It's fine for him to look at music like that especially that he is now 53. He is way past the impact age.

Congolese Music / Re: Coincidence or plagiarism?
« on: July 12, 2022, 08:18 »
It shouldn't be surprising at all because Congolese music and dance has influenced other genres across Africa and beyond especially this Nigerian music is full of rumba influence. That is why is its sad to see some Congolese artists copying a style they have hugely influenced thinking that will propel them to stardom at the expense of originality.

unfortunately no it seems because of his health and indirectly his issues with president's family unless there was a last minute surprise
I hope this teaches Alain a serious lesson to take his health seriously and also start losing weight.
He probably is the typical African man who believes that gaining weight and having a pot belly is a sign of good living. Even when you get married in Africa, the community will start watching your weight, if after 6 months you haven't gained weight it means your wife is not taking good care of you. :D :D

Franco's family lost TP Ok Jazz mythical rehearse place and bar 1,2,3 to Ilosono children. In 1972 Franco got through Mobutu,  the former Engels Bar in Matongé. Engels bar was owned by Captain Denis Ilosono who among the guys that helped Mobutu with the November 24th 1965 coup. He was also the boss/donor of La Révolution Orchestre. The band was created in 1967 by former OK Jazz musicians Kwamy Munsi, Mujos, Brazzos, Isaac Musekiwa and Boyibanda. Ilosono lost everything when he came in conflict with Mobutu. Including Engels bar. Franco would renovate the bar, building 3 dance floors, 4 bars and a office into it. In 1974 the bar was opened as 1,2,3.

Ilosono's family tried for years to get the bar back but without succes. But this time it was different and the justice was came into their favour.
All those years till the time of Franco's death he didn't think of normalising the ownership, I guess because Mobutu was still in power so he felt protected for life just like the La Zamba situation of Werrason.

Congolese Music / Re: WENGE REUNION LIVE STREAM

Dissatisfied with the whole show. Like why did they not properly do all the songs such as Blaise Bula's solo song, they cut it for mabanga, mawa. Werrason  also that Sarah invitation was a miss unless they planned it together and I feel his choice of solo song betrayed him.
Like @JV has said we will have to be reminded about Heritier being the main invite. Ba Miel de Son surtout Fabregas should drink a lot of water in advance because they won't drink it after this. :D :D

5/10 for me.

Mizik eza pasi ehee. Thought Ronaldhino launched his solo career after leaving Maison Mere?! ;D

lol now he's busy talking about his time in maison mere like the worst memory of his life and i have seen a video were he was asked about the fact he was allegedly trying to poach sarah solo to quartier latin and he went like you know in quartier latin musicians never lack money unlike in certain groups, loool the guy literally went in a couple of weeks from having part of his album funded by jb and talking well of werra to turning them into nobodies and just calling them "batu wana" and saying they did nothing in congolese music while despite his controversial departure he was saying that he would not tolerate anybody talking bad of werra
These chaps have zero loyalty. ;D ;D
