You're definitely missing a lot that could be easily replaced by some of these.

Congolese Music / Did these Concerts have official DVD releases?
« on: January 26, 2017, 21:38 »
Found this amatuer clip of the Koffi olomide Montmartre Concert in 2007, and that sebene was amazing! Now I'm dying to see the full concert, or anything from that era.

Also found another amatuer clip from the 2007 Zenith concert with the same type of sebene. I feel like we missed out on a decent era that was short lived. BEK might have actually been a great album if it stuck to the sebene roots, because it sounded really good during that time.

Exactly EMOVICTEAM, everybody is better in a group. This solo movement is just not the way  :-\

Another example, is the song Operation Dragon is a generique. It basically has fast paced sebene the whole Song. While the song Tave is a sebene, where it starts off slow with rhumba and later goes into a faster tempo with a sebene. So a generique song is full sebene, while a sebene song is half rhumba, half sebene(or generique). Generiques are typically the first song of an album which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Multiple sebene songs are spread throughout the album, but now a days rhumba has completely replaced those sebene spots in albums.

;D ;D ;D He's been so underwhelming and an underachiever since he left Les Marquis

Come on now, why aren't sebene songs made anymore. It's the perfect combination of rhumba and sebene. Generiques are all over the place these days and it's supposed to be like a preview for the whole album. It would be easier to make structured sebene songs

Congolese Music / Re: When was this concert?

mvulusi96, thanks for the very interesting info. I can see why koffi was disappointed with Les Mineurs. it just seemed like a huge downgrade with a lacking in personalities. Guys like Shella and Montana overstayed their welcomes at that point because QL underwent a huge rebuild then. Looking at where koffi is at now, I kind of wish he gave Les Mineurs a chance. Maybe he would have been better off with them. Why did he want to eliminate the ex'Wazekwa musicians? Was he also disappointed in them?

Congolese Music / When was this concert?

Seems like 2007 before cindy came? I can tell at that point the team has completely fallen apart.

Did bouro Mpela come back to QL after fally or ferre left or was it before they left? Why didn't his presence help with the collaspe?

I thought koffi supported les marquis because of his competition with werrason?

At 7:13, I love the way the drums were played with the Gilba sebene there. I wish they played the drums that way in the actual recording of the song.

lol does koffi have braids?

479
Same here. I though I was the only one. Annoying song.

I love that attentat/ force de frappe/ effrakata era. The songs blend in very well when they mix it up from those albums.
