He mocks jf for his antics and how he attacks musicians and adresses the rumours of having dated daida which caused beef with jb saying he does not know daida personally he only saw her once at her mother's wedding with VK and she is old enough to come and say if he ever approached her and he also adrssed didi saying that he tried dating her friends and said that if thats true then she should give names because all he knows is that her two three close friends just come to say hello papa and move, but he does not want to take long on that as if he was responding to his daughter
he ripped into popolipo during the interview and said that he is not any better than lebou felly tyson,he did nothing special in his career except his famous zaiko solo of the 80's and his song julia with him and so on
he talked again about that producer of legend saying it was the first time of his career that a producer paid 300K cash and not via a check or something he found it weird but he was fed up of making fans wait for the release so he had blind trust and that he got told by somebody who was close to an artist the whole story behind it but he wont reveal it because it will lead to strong controversy
he said he has no problem with jb and werra if they want peace with him he is fully open for it,even though he knows via people around them that they used to call him "wanted" during his justice issues
he was asked about the muana nsuka affair and he says he founds it strange that in congolese public's logic dancers are always the victim,in many cases they have consenting love affairs with the leaders and one dancer sandralina(who ironically enough goes down the totally opposite route of being victim now) said that its dancers who rape the leaders because they join groups already with the intention of being the leaders favorite and this include sex and relationship and koffi adds that the dancers even fight for them or leave groups because leaders is now closer to another dancer
he did the interview with next to him his daughter kenaya and received a cindy call lol cindy was sounding like she was shouting at him for something, and he did not hide it at all in the interview that she is fully his wife now with everything you can expect from a woman
Dancers raping leaders wow

That female dance squad of QL from Force de Frappe to Affaire d'Etat era could take turns gang raping me, especially Chouchou Mbayo and Patience Ibembo. I'll suffer in silence for years – #SURVIVINGQUARTIERLATIN  :)

why do you think he'll flop
It us just too complicated to go solo coming from a traditional Ndombolo band of the big three nowadays, especially if you cone from BCBG, BCBG musicians are almost unknown to people who aren't fans of BCBG I have seen this with the Fally concert, when Abraham was singing nobody knew him and much like CM Prince I had to tell people that he was a very famous ex Wenge BCBG Member back in the days.
Second no Europe backing, in Europe people know Fabregas, Heritier, Werras9n etc. But they hardly know about BCBGians cause of JB constant delay on albums and very rare concert in Europe he used to make,
And in the last part Congolese fans are extremely complicated, tbh I would never want to be a musician in Kin because Congolese fans have a very particular way like Americans to listen to the music and like you have said if you aren't from that particular camp, if you don't have that particular style they will be like what is this? And disregard you as quickly as possible. Despite But Na Fillet being a successful solo musicians from Villa Nova I don't think he will ever reach the success of Fally, Ferre or even an Innoss B, so that is why I think he will flop, I hate to say it but Nono Fudji it is simply out of time and I don't see him doing a Rhumba with new modern instruments

If I'm not mistaken, But Na Filet also benefited from people feeling sorry for him and being upset how his old friend Fabregas betrayed his friend. Maybe the gospel angle helped too, because it differentiates him from the other former band members of 5eme generation.

I will offer two possibilities
1) He does not have enough money for promotion since he probably spends a lot of money on making songs and donors.
2) Likely Fabregas, Fally, Ferre and other bigger artists work hard to prevent Deplick of getting more favors from influential folks or fans in general.

Imagine being as advanced in your career as those men, but you're still blocking your peers as if they're a step or so behind you. Fally and Ferre have done big concerts, sponsorships, successful back to back albums, and continue their success as solo artists for almost twenty years – their position as leaders in the genre are cemented lol a successful year from Deplik won't strip that from them

the fault is on the fans,if you serve them the real rumba with guitars heavy bass  drums and keyboard playing trumpet they will mock you ignore and say you are playing old school outdated music " tolingi kilelo oyo ba rumba ya kala esila deja",if you play modern rumba with loads of programming  you have to have mad hype around and be in the right camp  have the right relationship with the right people to make it gain attention,if you play urban they will belittle you as you are not the so called trendsetter and then want to you to have the same numbers of sales as x y z
every single issue from our music lies on the fans, even the bad behaviour of our artists its fans themselves who turn those guys who for more than half of them are  shy or "in the middle" people  into proper pricks because the fans instead of telling them off they'll back then and make it worse until some wake up like 10 years after and the deep love turns sour and goes borderline hate because now you feel you have been lied to all along
the day fans will take their role properly a lot of things could change

I suppose there has to be a brave musician to have a "fuck the fans" attitude and make good music to humble them. Because I don't see the fans returning to their proper role on their own, at least without outside provocation.

Congolese people are very prideful, so maybe seeing the music become second or third place to the Nigerians and Ghanaians could wake them up.

It's weird, because these are the same fans that propelled the underdogs into stars (Wenge Musica 4x4, Quartier Latin, ect) in the era where King Kester,  Zaiko, and the older generation dominated because they were seen as being "of the people" or the youth culture. I'm not really sure where the mindset of young Congolese people are in Kinshasa, because they don't seem quite like the kids you see here

It's crazy because the generation of Fally and Ferre may be the last time we see proper stars in our genre. All of the former musicians of F Victeam, Team Wata, Villa Nova, ect will never stand strong on their own.

It's really sad, because our music will disappear into irrelevance if there's no youth to carry the genre forward

about the title right? lol because i remember a title like that when he was durell's employee
haha he's a good singer(even though i feel like since 242 something changed in his voice)

True, he sang really well in Z1 International. He did too much auto-tune on 242, but he tried to recover with Extra Musica Nouvelle Horizon

Congolese Music / Re: HERITIER WATA INTERVIEW WITH PAPY MBOMA
« on: February 26, 2024, 04:37 »

in short he says that his album has 2 generiques 16 rumbas but there is also a generique and rumba which was not finished in time which will be released like two weeks after album
he disappeared from media because he wanted to focus on himself and on his music and try to see if he would not be able to survive without a strong mediatic presence and he can see with the feedback from his album release that people were waiting for him and he promises they wont be disappointed because his songs are of a strong level he worked with the best songwriters and he believes his album will succeed
he does not have a rival because he is not in the logic like some artists that the others have to be weakened so that their superiority is highlighted but he's rather one to like to be strong among other strong
he was asked about fally's arenas and ferre's double arena and said hats off to them and when asked about fabregas' casino de paris he could not help but laugh then indirectly said later that papy just talked about big things but managed to insert stuff of little boys into the discussion of big men
and he said that he will perform in france this year he has dates set already but people will know after album is out and that he will like he said perform in martyrs a second time aswell which he could not do last year because of the major accident his group suffered in equatorial guinea taking a good time for everybody to recover and thats the reason why he sang the gospel song because it was a miracle that none of the 11 guys who were in the little bus that rolled over 4 times died, which people would have interpreted as his sacrifice for his album so he wanted to thank God with that song

What caused the bus to flip like that? Even myself, I'm surprised and happy nobody died. Good lord, I hate the imbalance of the albums with the rhumba/sebene ratio. First of all, too many songs and barely three or four songs are memorable

yep,and he did which allowed that situation to be kept silent and settled  for so long, then whatever happened of late which created this
we'll know one day once the storm cools down, there is rarely even a scandal in our music without at least 5 per cent of fault on each side

I'm guessing JB didn't respect something in the agreement or the money to the women's family was late too many times, because the timing of this scandal is interesting lol

24
ferre was trained by werra zulema the dancer(not to confuse with zulema the singer )and late mulala
haha werra back in the days would be your worst nightmare when its about bringing out your potential( i wish he could still be on bill anc celeo's back like that so that they dont look like fat unbothered atalakus anymore) ,ferre was having long hours of private rehearsals after the wenge rehearsals just to make him good enough, and tata was coaching him on looks and charisma
only jb did not have a direct impact on him since when he was going to jb's house jb was not talking much to him,he'd just go to the backside of the house where mbokaliya, kibens, bogus, champion vualu, titina and co were building the feux de l'amour project

Was JB Mpiana against Ferre joining Wenge Musica? That's so odd! You'd think JB would be ecstatic about Ferre joining the group because of how he embraced Aimelia and Tutu Caludji.

If there's one thing I like about Werrason and Koffi, they don't play when it comes to maximizing their group's potential. It's not enough to be talented, but it's attitude and style. If only JB Mpiana followed suit with Wenge BCBG, he let his friendship give a pass to people who wouldn't of lasted in other groups (Rio, JDL, Kibens, & post-Internet Seguin)

Congolese Music / Re: IS IT TRUE THAT WILLY STAR MBAYABO PASED ON?

Didn't Piccas lose his wife late last year? God bless this brother, that's way too much tragedy for a man

26
yes exactly when the academia guys left depitcho was a mentor to the whole singers section to coach them to reshape the lineup to a level where they could counter academia

Who helped Ferre become a better dancer? I remember watching him at concerts from 1996 until 1998, you could tell he was very shy and was limited as a dancer despite being a powerful tenor. I suspect Adolphe taught him showmanship, while Werrason or Alain Mpela coached him as a dancer.

As for Bill, he is like Fally, Babia, and Alphatchino where you immediately see the potential. Maybe we need street groups as a buffer btw new musicians and big groups.

F Victeam felt like charity, with Fally recruiting old friends. And Fabregas, Heritier, and others not really having confidence in their group but on their own they don't make an impression to justify group albums

27
yeah true that, thinking about it again he would have been like mamale with the first generation or like junior with the second generation guys who really rise into proper stardom when some guys left and by hierarchy logic they become more important(talking about junior him and mirage piss me off soooo much they had  a career on a plate but they ran away from it)

It was very interesting how quickly Mamale advanced as an artist from the clips of Loi to the post-Academia era where he's a ladies man and very charismatic. Did Savanet Depitcho coach them on style and attitude? The same for Jipson and Jordan, they really improved in image very quickly

tango mosusu apesaka eloko te,these stars are lowkey weird behind the scenes for their tour lists, its not only artistic merit which puts you on lists(i insist these,so most of them big stars not singleing out dicap in particular ,if you are not a cemented guy and you dont have a children a sister a petit ya quartier or whoever to give you can find yourself waiting forever)

So who isn't "cemented" is that y'all would like to see go on European tours? Also, is there anything there musicians can do to convince Fally, Ferre, and others to promote group albums or individual members? I feel like they were successful with Libre Parkours, but they upset Fally by not promoting their songs...maybe they should do concerts in Kinshasa without him – to show that they can bring something to the table.

To be honest, I'm surprised Papy Kalombo left to go solo. I feel like that's going backwards, why did he leave?

Congolese Music / Re: THIS SOUNDS LIKE A FALLY & F’VICTEAM SONG
« on: February 08, 2024, 07:54 »

Obviously released way before Fally went solo but the whole song and melody when I listen to it I feel like I’m listening to Fally and F’Victeam. Even the way Generation A is singing the chorus it sounds like F’Victeam and when Mirage comes in he almost sounds like Nathan, Miel de son’s part could’ve been interpreted by Atele and the fact that Ronsard Kanza sings in this also makes it sound more like F’Victeam.

Maybe Alain Mpela was spoiled being the most famous chef de orchestra in Congolese music (name recognition, donors, ect), because he had everything needed to succeed yet the EP flopped and he was never around in Kinshasa long enough to promote the band. What do you guys think? I'm surprised his staff allowed him to make those silly mistakes

Did St Petro tour with Extra Musica in Europe and Africa from 1999 to 2001 or was he already settled in France? Because he never appeared in any of the clips or album pictures for Shalai and Trop C'est Trop as a member of the group.

He's not even credited as playing mi-solo for any albums of Zangul – only for Merci by Extra Musica International. I suspect he was their "grand frere", who helped Clan Extra whenever they called, he spiced up partitions that Roga and Sonor created in Brazza prior to recording in Europe but I could be wrong....
