On Twitter it was posted on there and Didi Stone saw it.

And she deleted pictures of her and Koffi and unfollowed him. That's what I saw from people who follow her saying.

Looked at Didi's tweets and she's saying she's tired of the humiliations. It's not the first time on Twitter that people have uploaded pics or videos concerning her dad.

And she's been blocking bare people. But these videos are made public because of her dad. So he's doing whatever he's doing and she has to deal with it because everyone knows who she is.

Lol someone said it had to be Cindy that released that video.

Congolese Music / The art of rumba
« on: July 21, 2020, 12:06 »
I want honest views and I want us to put our feelings to the side about our favourite artists.

Can anyone explain the differences in artists rumbas. Like what makes Koffi's rumba different or better than the next artist.

Like how would you explain to someone that Ferre's rumba consists of a b c and JB's rumba consists of a b but not c because of whatever reason.

how do you explain, the differences in the artists rumbas. The strengths each artists has.. Is it the texts or melodies, how do you explain the differences.

Felix Wazekwa has a big catalogue, but ask random people to sing atleast 3 songs of Wazekwa, they won't know. Most people only knows his generiques.

That's true. And he has good messages in his songs and proverbs.

But he's overlooked by most people. Maybe it's because they thought he was like a Koffi copy cat or that he's not that great at singing. I don't know but they just don't appreciate him like that. He fought hard to get up there but it's his generiques people go on about but he has a lot of good rumba songs.

I just don't know what the problem is.

But for someone like Werra  it's just unacceptable. I feel like he could've done more with his catalogue. That's why it's shocking when I'm viewing his catalogue and you WOULDNT really even discuss Werra's catalogue after temoinage. Might name one more album after temoinage but ahh it's just fascinating analysing this

Congolese Music / Solo catalogue of artists from 2000-2019
« on: July 19, 2020, 22:21 »
I find it fascinating how although wenge dominated Congo and Werra and JB are more popular than Koffi in the motherland..

No one has even had a stronger solo catalogue than Koffi's. From his generation.

Like I was looking at Werra's solo albums and was surprised to see how weak it looked. JB only has 2.

Werra's first 2 albums are good But his next ones are debatable. JB had 2 strong albums and that's it.

Wazekwa's solo catalogue looks even stronger than Werra (correct me if you feel I'm wrong)

Koffi had effrakata, monde Arabe, bord ezanga kombo, abracadabra, 13eme apotre, nyataquance. I mean looking at that list from 2000s to 2010s it looks strong.

Papa Wemba I can't remember all his albums (in order) from 2000s/2010s but he also had a good list of albums.

What do you think?

Congolese Music / Your favourite Singer / Artist
« on: July 19, 2020, 22:12 »
Who is you favourite singer of all time?

And who is your favourite artist?

Singer and artist are 2 different things. Singer you look at the aspect of their vocal ability and artist is the whole package.

My favourite Singer is Carlyto Lassa
My favourite artist is Koffi Olomide.

Who are yours?

Was/Is he still a member of Jehovah's Witnesses?

Enough respect to him for not falling into the shady business of pimping of other people's daughters in the name of being dancers.

From what you have written I take it a managers job is hard especially in Africa where there are a lot of shady promoters/producers.

My dad worked with him when he came London. My dad Used to do his media things, worked with few.

I remember when I saw that Christian couple come to our flat. Theyre called couple buloba.

And Felix Wazekwa I remember he used to come London to visit my uncle. Because they grew up as Jehovah witness, don't know if he still is but I need to ask my uncle if he's still in touch with Felix.

Congolese Music / Sacrifices
« on: July 19, 2020, 22:05 »
I'm just on YouTube, watching interviews etc and I came across people discussing about how Reddy sacrificed his brother and that he doesn't even know til this day where they buried his brother.

I mean i know there's always this talk about sacrificing somebody in order to gain success. Whether on hip hop or Congolese industry.. I don't think I've ever seen somebody actually admit doing so or providing proof.

We just hear testimonies of singer turned brother in Christ but it's like ok we heard it today but by next week everything is back to normal.

I don't know what's true and what isn't but I won't say that I don't believe that people practice magic.

But the fact that people say these things about reddy or like fally that he sacrificed his parents or mum. I mean it's mad and sad to say things like this especially if it's not true.

But it's just crazy man. I've always imagined what if I were a singer and wasn't even sacrificing anybody but because someone in my family passed away it will become "hmmm a lekisi ye pona succes" it's crazy.

I'm just surprised at how people talk about these stuff but there's no evidence that they sacrificed or not, so they are living their lives believing this person sacrificed a b c or d

Pretty sad. They could be innocent. Who knows.

Congolese Music / Re: YO PE REMIX HITS THE 100 MILLION VIEWS
« on: July 15, 2020, 16:36 »
Can someone explain to me why views matter so much?

Like what's the reason, what's the gain?

I mean a lot of views mean good exposure but whether the views gets more Likes than dislikes is another thing. But why are views that important?

So much polemique around YouTube views.

Find Tekashi 69, he might have the best answer for you lol

Lool no way. I am not checking anything to do with that guy.

People said they won't pay attention to him but controversy sells. I don't even pay attention to anything he does.

So I guess the views helps you build a fan base then

FYicteam and Fally are just getting air time now because Fally is popular not because he makes good music......
Come on now... are we seriously gonna act like Fally doesn’t make good music and that Control wasn’t a good album.

Na Control is a good album. To be honest Fally won't make a bad album. You might not like few songs but overall you'd like more than you dislike.

With Fally it's interesting to know how his album will be like because he brings that diverse to his music.

Koffi's catalogue is strong compared to other artists. He's done a lot in each decade.

Only Papa Wemba had a long solo catalogue to compete with Koffi. And Defao. But it's about impact and many other factors.

I just find it interesting.

Happy birthday le Rambo, the greatest Congolese musician ever

After Franco Luambo Makiadi and Tabu Ley
That's interesting. How do we decide on the greatest Congolese musician? Because you have the likes of King Kester and Papa Wemba, etc.

People could find it wrong to place Koffi after the greats Franco and Tabu.

But how do you lot base your decisions on to decide who is greater than who.
For ME Koffi is the greatest simply because he’s done it all and he’s had an active career for the past 40 years, and all the albums he released from Ngobila which came out in 1986 I believe all the way to BEK which came out in 2008 all of them are classics and none are bad albums, that’s 22 years of incredible albums. He also had fantastic QL lineups from the beginning 1990 to 2009 which is 19 years, he gave the best shows in Olympia, Zenith and Bercy, and also produced the most Generique of all time which is Loi.
We have to give the man credit because he’s just a pure musical genius, there will never be another Koffi.

Its true. Going from a songwriter who required vocal trainings and huge support from already established artists to one of the greats is a huge achievement.

My problem is that we can also pull up the files of Papa Wemba King Kester etc. But the only way id know who's on top is by checking to see what is it that Koffi's achieved that the others haven't. And that's how we'd know. I guess.

It just sounds like when a concert is done and they're rolling the credits on the screen.

Its average. Majority of these generiques for the last 10 years have been average or just bare makelele.

Few have been outstanding. A lot have been average. Several have been awful, bare noise.
