He's not the one who's going to make it happen. He should not be in the forefront of such an initiative.

He just created a political platform with the implicit goal of supporting some people from Kabila"s camp and now he wants to brings back concerts ? He must be trolling.

Let Ferre or someone less involved in politics do it. Not Werra.

The  93 Mama Ngebi Noblesse Oblige live was one of his best performances, even visually. Only rivaled by the 95 and 97 Abidjan concerts and some live around 98 in Europe. The only thing Koffi was laking was god dancers, but I never cared male dancers anyways, especially the Fally, Kusa, Depitchou crowd. They dance for the ladies.

Mai Ndombe was in Equateur. Mobutu is the one who put in Bandundu. And most of the people from Mai-Ndombe are culturally closer to people from Sout Equateur, as you said.

Thus mpangi stuff is more linked to political opportunism than a real unity... I don't like how Werra turned it into one of his main musical weapon.

Are you sure ? Because in real they are also really united at universities, work, etc. But nobody was noticing it first. Always attacking Baluba's. People started noticing it only recently during the Werra-JB war, the moment when Gizenga became prime minister in 2006 and with Emeneya funeral.

Werrason just followed Tabu Ley path. Because back in 1965 African Fiesta split in two camps. Dr Nico on one side and Tabu Ley on the other one with for the first time ever tribalism entering in the Congolese music-scene with Baluba's being pro Dr-Nico and people coming from Bandungu pro Tabu Ley.

Yeah true that Mai Ndombe used to be in Equateur I just wachted the map, but that was during the colonisation. From 1960 it became part of the Leopoville-province and next to Kwilu, Kwango, Kinshasa and Kongo Central who were there already from the start (In 1909 it was more bigger having also Kasai, being called Congo-Kasai province). And from 1966 splitted the province in three (Bas Congo, Kinshasa and Bandundu).

You're right about Tabul Ley, and we can say the same thing about the dislocation of Zaiko between Bakongo and "Bangala" (Gina, Evoloko and Wemba) but the tribalism was not that blatant like Werra did and to be honest, it was more "normal" back then. The mobutist "unité nationale" mantra was not there yet. Maybe it's more blatant because Werra brought it back to the forefront after years of silence.

One thin that explain political unity of Bandundu people is a sense of marginalization they felt in the early days of Mobutu power, since he was cracking down on mulelist. And a lot of members of the Bandundu elite were targeted. But I'm just speculating.

Yeah, you're right : in fact, in 66, some people asked that Mai Ndombe went back to Equateur but Mobutu refused. He put it in Bandundu.

The sound is indeed top notch.

"Werra full performance" ?

He did not do anything beside dancing  ;D

It's a shame how Adolphe and Tonya Tonya path to success was cut short by Koffi and Werra.

I forgot how Lacoste used to be handsome before he turned into a chubby boy ! Ah ah ah !

I don't really like the writing style of Kibens, at least since TH. Those songs lacks substance, just a bunch of fancy french words.

But if JB thinks he's so necessary, he should keep him the background, working behind the scene.

At some point, JB needs to put a younger crowd in the spotlight.

This guy is supposed to be great soloist but he keeps putting out garbage music.

I think it was all hype.

At his age, his former boss was making the best music of his career. But this guy is busy stuntin' on social networks and getting gassed up by his fans for the average music he's making.

Best era of Quartier Latin.

Koffi and Quartier Latin gave their best concerts between 1992 and 1998. Clearly superior to anything he did after, including Bercy.

The 93 Noblesse oblige live at studio Mama Ngebi was crazy ! One of my favorite concert. It's a shame it disappeared from Youtube.

Mampata is a great wife for Werrason. She has helped keep him grounded. This is good for him. Werrason and JB Mpiana are kind of a unique duo where they hate each other but at the same time, they know that they were a nice crew. It is clear that Werrason and JB Mpiana miss the old days where they were playing together but that is life we call.

I will say this, Mampata will have a better chance of having a Wenge Musica Maison Mere reunion than a wenge musica 4x4. It is true that Ferre Gola and Werrason hate each other but I think they could get together with Heritier, Baby Ndombe, Serge Mabiala, Cappucino, Amelia, Didier Lacoste as well with Adolphe Dominguez. But I doubt that Didier Massela will agree to work with Werrason or Adolphe. Plus with Wenge 4x4 as I have said, Massela and Werrason don't like each other but as Archos said, they speak. Also Makaba and Mpiana don't like each other but they speak as well. In addition, Blaise Bula wants nothing to do with JB Mpiana and Werrason. The only person that they get along with is Adolphe Dominguez.

Mampata will need other people to able to resolve the ugly blood between Adolphe, Werra, Blaise, JB, Massela and Makaba. It is going to be hard because the resentments are so deep.
Ehh why do you keep saying that they don't like eachother its like you don't want them to Archos has already said thousands of times that they all love each other like brothers still they're just distant if they didn't like each other they wouldn't mention each other Blaise has said in many interviews that he wants them all close again would he say that if like you keep saying not "stand" them there's no proper ugly blood so just drop it

In his latest interview, Blaise Bula seemed to be really mad at them, especially Werra and JB. LOL Maybe he was just having a bad day.

Ouch ;D waiting to see what the reply will be but holy shit Paysan. Glad im not on the other hsnd of that debate lol it’d be hard to come with a rebuttal to this

He’s in the minority. I don’t know what’s funnier, the fact that he’s only arguing with me but everyone else has come to the same conclusion about the sebene, or the fact that I can tear down every thing he says and he’ll come back with opinions rather than facts. It’s like the GOP defending Donald Trump on TV. It’s no longer worth my time. He can keep the boring rhumbas with no sebene. People like what they like. Where is Adoyo when I need him lol

Being in a minority ?

LOL. Who cares ?  Do you think this is a beauty contest ? Also, do you need back-up to state your point ?

Everybody reached the same conclusion ?

Yeah, SIMPLICITY's post is a clear example...

Boring rhumba with no sebene ?

This is so ridiculous it's almost funny !

Yeah, I'll keep listening to "boring" rumbas. Some of us love and value the genre in all its aspects, and not only the seben part.

599
JB and Samsonite should do comedy skits. It'll be funny.  ;D

What is killing our music is mixing it with the Rap / RnB style. Ferré QQJD's album is a good return to the sources even though the generiques are a failure. What we need is also to find sebenes as violent as Loi, Kibuisa Mpimpa, Trop c'est trop ...

Rumba is not as intriguing to people as sebene

Yep.

I hate those Hip-Hop/RnB rumba with a passion. Once again, I blame Fally for its spreading.

I'll never be a big fan of this generation, but if Ferre manage to give us excellent seben, he'll be the indisputed king of his generation.
