Congolese Music / Titina VS Mignon
« on: March 30, 2015, 16:34 »
I think I do not need to put a paragraph on this topic since most of us here have seen me posting comments castigating Segiun Mignon, the poor drummer of Wenge BCBG. Some members of this forum have indicated that Segiun is not a bad drummer and that he plays just like Titina Le Grand Pretre who was once number 1 drummer of JB Mpiana before Koffi Olomide, dangled a carrot in front of his face.

I have refused with a big no, that Segiun plays like Titina. Whether he hits the snare with energy a grown up applies when playing with a child's cheeks, his style is still different from Titina's. Why am I saying this? I am not an expert at playing drums but from school, I know some pieces. Titina, makes use of the drum bass, all cymbals and the snare in a coordinated manner which makes even his contribution on slow tracks marvelous to hear. Give him a sebene, and he will use these parts to lead in a sebene. Watch the video below:

Contrary to poor Segiun Mignon, this fat guy simply can play without a drum bass in place because he never utilises it or he does in intervals. Secondly, what I have realized is that when he plays in a slow track, he only bends his head and body to reach at the lower cymbal and snare, thats it. the song will go on and on until JB shouts his name thats when he goes for the upper cymbals. Give him a sebene and all he knows is the snare and lower cymbal with no drum bass, that's it. Lastly, his low energy, makes him a very poor drummer. Come to Kakol, he may not utilise all drum sets, but his strength and use of drum bass and snare, raises his qualities. I will not talk about Champion a lot but in summary, he plays like Titina.

Here is Segiun poorly playing at Bandal 2005:

Now all of you must be wondering why I want Segiun, Rio and the rest of the old guards need to be replaced which JB is blind to see. Check this out and listen to Bebeto (or the 3rd drummer playing the drums while the PPU2 sing:

Frap encore......

Congolese Music / Is it Maniata?
« on: January 26, 2015, 04:56 »

That JB Mpiana has gone under? Or its the release of Fletch Ingeta. If its Maniatas illness, then JB is not fit to be in music.

Archos, Shed some light. Were is JB.

Congolese Music / Sly i need answers

I have to be honest, i love lubukulukumu. I am watching it just now and the whole week, months etc. Ferre did a very good job and i wonder why he has not used that formula in his albums. Now at the end of the dvd, you have mark tabu interviewing ferres artists.

Qn 1. Were is Kisa solo the slim guy who showcases his skill.
Qn 2. Is the other rapper, the short one roi david? He dominates and musama does little.
Qn 3. Why do ferres artists call themselves bana shetani. Shetani means satan....in african bantu.

This dvd is ferres best. I love vita imana remix and the way he used artists in a coordinated manner.

Congolese Music / Segiun mignon
« on: September 23, 2014, 12:35 »

This is why we need two instrumentalists competing for the same position. This was the time titina was with JB but segiun offered some breathing space when he was not available. Here you can tell, segiun had the thirst to hit them. See him today and all  you see is a fat guy playing like he is on some sleeping pill or something. JB should watch his older concerts and see who is underperforming.

Congolese Music / Mageko.
« on: September 22, 2014, 17:48 »

Can someone tell me why Reddy Amisi is not very popular?.......I am warning you all not to listen to this song while driving or having s.......x, as in both cases, you may die. This song has been doing my mind all of this week. Mageko, this is what I say rumba. One voice throughout but not boring. Boys like ferre should pick something from this song. Reddy amisi, wow.

Congolese Music / Fally Ipupa.....reeeeespect!!!!

I am watching his L Integral des clips dvd. When you litsen to Nyokalesse, you literally go on a tour that has all you need in this world. This is what I call a ballad, no boring moments. Secondly, fally has borrowed everything koffi does regarding video shooting. The scene and accampanying women, kills you nicely. The solo guitar he adds in his slows is what caps it all.

At least we have a new star making us happy as we wait for new ones to emerge. Thanks to obouo music de david monsoh. This guy is a producer.

« on: August 29, 2014, 15:53 »
They are in Zambia 5-7 September, 14. I am in South Africa from 1-4 so I will b at their show. For nyoka, I will go, not koffi olomide who has grown big headed. This time, I promise a good review. I have been listening to their music of late and I like them.

Un Garcon de suisse, from kolo mboka de Zaiko Langa Langa is a song I keep on playing every day, thanks to Kaisala, one runba expert in town. This is what I call a sebene.......balanced vocals, lovely easy solo there and most importantly, meri jo bilobi's drum work. Segiun maniata should take a leaf. This album was definitely a bomb, thanks to nyoka longo for keeping the fire burning to this date.

I am loving Zaiko day in day out. Merci boku Zaiko.....merci mingi.
