Congolese Music / Re: Ndombolo Clip - JB Mpiana 1997
« on: April 23, 2022, 06:11 »
Wow. it looks like Alain Mpela is really leading the Bunch....reminds me of Bourro Mpela dancing ndombolo in Loi. Didier Massela looks like he is the having more fun than everyone else.

Thanks for posting this, reminds me of good times when they were all together (Wenge)...when they were calling Mpela and Blaise Bula's brothers in Quartier Latin "2 Flics dans la Mafia" then Koffi on his part saying "yebisa ba petits wana kokende liboso eza kokoma te",,, the fights were civil at the time....I miss that right now in our music.

Congolese Music / Re: Toujours Humble (TH) vs Effrakata

TH ten times better than Effrakata...I like Koffis albums but I will compare Monde Arabe with TH not Effrakata

19
So far it looks promising!

Anyone has an idea who played the instruments on the songs, any 'outside' help like he did with the likes of Lofombo on his last double album?

Ndeko, these are questions for polemique  ;D ;D There's no Right or Wrong answer to that question. You can not compare Koffis style with other artists...different styles....

Best SOLO Albums of the 90s include

Feux de L'Amour : JB
V12: KOFFI
Sans Commentaires: Madilu
L'amour Au Kilo : Mayaula Mayoni
Pile ou Face: Makaba

Not forgetting the following:
Emotion: Wemba
Azalaki se awa: Gatho Beevans
Romeo & Juliette: By Stino Mubi
Prudence by Reddy Amisi
Pentagone by Wenge
Pepe Kalle and Papy Tex had a few good albums

All These albums helped to cement Congolese music in the world in the 90s. Please listen to all these albums before chosing only one album....

There are also excellent 'Group' albums like
Confirmation by Extra,  Loi (number of vocales from all QL members), Pentagone and all Wenge 4x4 albums were outstanding, Ultimatum by QL,

I love how he presents his Symphonique Rumba idea to the French public.....Good job Ferre.

When I saw the trailer, I thought that I wouldn't waste my time pretending to laugh at Eddy Murphy in different fat suits playing several characters.....But Just because of Fally's being on the soundtrack I might as well watch it when it comes out in March on Amazon  ;D ;D
Always supports our artists! Always.
