Nene Tchakou (R.I.P) Played the lead guitar on the whole album.

Like Werrason and Emeneya, I always wonder why Bozi and Emeneya never thought about doing a featuring together. There was a time that they were both signed to VEVE. It would have been a banger if they did that. Emeneya said a few times that Bozi used to be his best friend when in was in Viva la Musica and he in Zaiko and them continuing being friends when he started Victoria. Its a mystery why they didn't think about it. They both did chorus together along with Djuna Djanana for Koffi's songs in 1978 and 1979 but they did a duet together.

Totally forgot about the song. I re-discoverd I think 2 yeas ago when Eliyo77 decided to upload it along with other songs of Zaiko. Teddy Sukami is one Zaiko' s best songwriters. Many don't know that he was Zaiko's first president before Nyoka Longo becoming it in 1980 after that he decided to stay in Europe (I dont why maybe that he already started to get ill).

I asked myself that as well, it would've been a big hit if Bozi and Emeneya did a featuring when you have Anti Choc and Victoria Eleison backing them.

Teddy Sukami composed memorable songs especially Elo. I'm hoping someone uploads his LP he recorded with Bozi Boziana and Kanda bongo Man.

I think I found the song it's called Kiaku Kiaku, it was recorded with Les Casques Bleus in 1979.

Aah vieux Benz. I still waiting for his interview with Mbuta Likasu.

I must relisten those Zaiko songs of the 1970s, I forgot many sebenes of it. It must be the second or third version of it, because the drum-sound of the version I know was different (I think the one they recorded during the Ghana-trip).

Btw do you know the title of the Zaiko-song where they were singing about life ?

I skipped to the near end of the radio broadcast and I heard Emeneya's voice it hasn't changed. I believe they recorded two versions of Zaiko, the first version was recorded in 1976 during their Ghana trip, their second trip was in 1979 backed up by with the Ya Toupas.
Is the called vie ya mosolo written by late Teddy Sukami?

The song is Zaiko Wawa, about Bozi way of speaking not changing makes you think that the interview was today lol.

According Koffi Alibaba it was that the album was finished and Rigo Makengo who had to produce it listening to it, saying that their solist was weak and that they had to correct some lines. But when coming back to the studio Meko all files already being erased by the sound engineer, which is really sad. In an interview Koffi Alibaba did with Mbuta Likasu he said that they had the chance to record a second album with label that did their first album. But the label only sending them 10 visa’s to record a new album in Europe, them refusing wanting to bring the whole band they had in Kinshasa. Thinking about it, it was a huge mistake by missing that opportunity. They had success in concerts, even Wenge Musica started to respect them and mentioning them interviews saying that they are the only band in Kinshasa next to them to have succes (just to piss Wenge El Paris off).

Position Eyebani was not bad. It was a good album although being recorded in Kinshasa. Film Ebaluki (1999) which Bozi did with Theo Mbala, Michaux Chamberton, Lokombe, Coreen Polystar was also good. I had the album Jeu Muke (2000) the past years often on repeat. There’s no Bozi that I listened so much like that one.  It's a shame that the two albums weren’t well promoted.

A great opportunity missed sadly.

Its a typical mid-90s booklet of African artists.

I feel like 5/4 songs in this album being fillers. Koffi Olomidé is an artist who needs to be congratulated because of recording solo-album of 10, 11 & 12 songs for a long period without having fillers in it. I wonder if it was really Bozi's intention to record a solo album in this period. Bana Saint Gabriel is a better album.  It was in this period that Interpol of Kofi Alibaba, Sadico, Trocadero and Micha Brown got created right ? Their album interpellation was a succes in Europe but now its impossible to find it back.

Its a shame that Bozi didn't let his whole band participate to his album and the following one. This would have more fire if he brought Lapino instead of punishing him. It was from here that he wasn't brining the whole band anymore to Europe and mostly bringing ngulu's. In the credits there are only Deo Brando, Janvier Okota, Mi-Flo and Betty Biss as bandmembers the rest being session artists. Anyway, its only these day that I'm really paying attention to his albums of the 1990s. Back in the days I only focused on la carré magique, Big Stars, El Paris, Nouvelle Generation and a little bit Empire.

Interpol was created back in 1996. That period Koffi Alibaba, Micha Brown, and Trocadero had already left Anti Choc it's a shame that the files of their next they recorded at M'eko were deleted and I hope someone uploads Interpellation gets uploaded along with the videoclips. It's shame that leadership issues have crumbled the band Sadiko and Trocadero ended joining Zaiko Langa Langa, Micha Brown travelled and settled in Angola he played on Lutchiana Mobulu's album "Balayage."

It was also Deo Brondo last album, I think after the recording and release of the album is when Bozi returned  because I watched an interview of Deo Brondo whether with Papy Gene or Marcel Landu of Sekele. He said that he was abandoned in Kenya which led him to join Zaiko Langa Langa. From then Bozi bought Lady Miyembe, Bello Bongo, the keyboard player (I don't know his name), and drummer Charly and the ngulu's.

In my opinion I think "Les Refoules De Schengen" and "Bana Saint Gaberial" were last good albums I never paid to the albums he released after those two because I felt he lost the great stars of his group such as (Scola Miel, Koffi Alibaba) not mention the passing of late Wally Ngonda and late Fifi Mofude.

Seeing Rigo Makengo giving Djonolo special thanks next to Rigo Star and Nene Tchakou makes me even suspect him more for being the original author of the Nemiala de Berlin, Ba Ngambo ya la Vie, Les Refoules de Schengen and Vendredi Noir. The arrangement of the songs and way of singing in these songs were totally his style.

Thanks for posting the booklet, I suspect the same thing as you described the songs were written in Djo Nolo, on another note the CD kind of reminds me of the V12 CD.

There's a video on youtube of Werrason touring along with Tshala Muana and comedians like Siatula, Bipendu, etc. around different cities of Congo for those political campaigns of ADFL. When coming in Mbandaka they performed with Pepe Kalle. Its btw there that Pepe Kalle was victim of his first heart attack before his death. Back then people were still not believing that Werrason would make it one day and that he was profiting behind ADFL to still exist. Them calling Maison Mere, Wenge ADFL because of they started to tour with them for those campaigns.

There's also a video of him on youtube performing in N'djili. Gode Lofombe said in one of his many interviews that it was the concert that gave him the inspiration to start Delta Force for Pépé Kallé, because of the intro the singers did.

At first I thought it was Delta Force who performed first on stage.

Thinking about it I wonder how it would look if JB Mpiana and Werrason were on the same stage. I would like to see the VHS video of the Tokufa Pona Congo event seems interesting. It is rare to discover videos of Pepe Kalle before his death in the late 90s apart from Cocktail.

Going back to the topic. I noticed that tribute tracks who are recorded in days/weeks after the of a big artists are easily forgotten compared to tribute tracks who are done 2/3/4 years after it.

Seeing the backcover which is a picture of the event Megaconcert “Tokufa Pona Congo” at Stade des Martyrs, made me really being curious to see that video. It’s the first time for me to see the picture.
You can see Werrason with the priest robe he wore on the cover of Intervention Rapide (I heard someone saying that he got it from late Wasenga Kipuni’s father). It’s there where the myth around him started, power of getting welcomed as an hero and getting venues empty when leaving the place.

Djuna Mumbafu said in an interview that it was the first event where they performed with Delta Force but Pepe Kallé having to sing on the floor instead of stage because of his weight. But I’m surprised to see him on stage with all singers. Also where is Marie Paul on the picture, his face hidden the guy with glasses (I’m not sure if it’s Makaba) ? That day was a dark page in music-career. I would like to see that famous entrance he did with Werrason that went wrong.

I really wonder if the VHS of this event got officially released on the market, the same for Gigaconcert “Hommage à Pépé Kallé” at Stade des Martyrs.

From looking at the photo I see Wendo Kolosoy, Shakembo, Werrason,Lutumba Simaro, King Kester Emeneya, Pepe Kalle, Djo Poster, Desouza, Jeannot Bomenga, and Adamo Ekula. The guy with the glasses could be Jolino I believe Alain Makaba was on tour with Wenge BCBG

Zaïko Langa Langa - Contract signing with Sony CBS, Zénith (1988); Bercy (2002)

That was definitely a missed opportunity along with the Zenith.

from 51:08 min Madilu was really evil how can you say something like that. I've never seen a former musician of his band saying something positive about him. It's always negative

Then again, this is the same guy who made a comment on one of his songs about not giving his band visas for Europe.

Hahaha that was towards the end of the song Nakombo. It must have been very humilated for his musicians to hear that when the album came out. Because that time is was for the 3th time that he promised them that they would go to Europe after releasing Pouvoir. The musicians were sure that they would go with him this time because for the first time they participated to recording-sessions (few songs of the album Pouvoir were recorded in Kinshasa). Madilu came back and toured with them like usually to multiple African countries and then abandoned them in Kinshasa for 2 years.

from 6:46 min "Ambassadeur Molengo komeka kopesa bango visa te. Noki te bako kende kokima"
The way his singers were also smiling in the video when coming to that part hahahaha

Very humiliating hahahaha.

About bandmembers going to their leaders and not getting anything to eat is nothing. Almost all leaders do that. Today Ferre's spokemen Tresor Kongolo who used to be with Fally first is often mocking on social media by Fally-fanatics for his interview where he once said that Fally didn't give him breakfest when he came early in the morning.

But the stuff that Madilu was doing to his employees was really bad. Fofo le Collegien, Yaya Londa, Bibiche and Do Akongo all had stories about the way they were treated bad by him.

Yeah, hearing the stories from Madilu former musicians  were shocking.

I think that Victoria Eleison be in a dip if Emeneya allowed other singers to shine in band. There were apparently many singers rejected just because of him or his staff fearing that they might become stars. I feel sorry for the way they treated Zobena X-Or in Victoria Eleison.

I think that Adricha denied his time in Anti Choc because of a bad experience. There are some parts that I don't believe. For example that he joined Choc Stars in the era of Jardin Abandonée while that album came out in 1988 and at that time he was in Victoria. I'm also doubting about him pariticipating as drummer to albums in Big Stars. The version about his time in Big Stars always change with every interview when he gets confronted by fanatics or former musicians in the comments. In another interview he claimed that he joined Big Stars as singer and left because of Montana. There was also an interview where he claimed to be the original songwriter of Madilu's song Pardon but guitarist Volvo Lukebuka attacking him in the comments and claiming that it was his song.

Zobena X-Or had his own energy in Victoria I still remember when he performed with Victoria during a show at Tele Zaire. In the era of Jardin Abandonée, Choc Stars was on tour they record the medley "Carnaval" "Nalela Bolingo" and albums outside the band such as "Chagrin Dimone" and "Sauvetage." The band probably returned in late '88 or early '89. I had to rewind when he joined Madilu's band after departing Choc Stars. It's possible he could've joined Choc Stars somewhere in 1993.

I was wondering what happened to the late Maneno because on the cover of the Live In Japan CD said dedicated to Maneno.

I was also wondering that because he didn't participate on "Polo Kina" & "Everybody".

According to Adricha in this video, Maneno became addictated to drugs when coming in Europe and passed away not long after that (probably an overdoses) It not clear when he passed away, but I think in 1993 because the live album came out in '93 while it was recorded during their trip to Japan in 1991.

It could've passed in 1992 because he didn't participate on "Polo Kina" who knows. Btw Everybody did not have live drums it was programmed.
