Congolese Music / Re: Koffi Olomide LOI
« on: September 23, 2022, 16:44 »
For me it's Airways. It very rare to see him performing that song live.

If Koffi decided to release the clip version of S.O.S. instead of the album-version, then would I go for S.O.S. I've seen some people getting emotional  when listening to that version. I don't understand why Koffi preferred that other one.

I definitely agree on the statement on S.O.S. The S.O.S. Remix has so much more emotion put into the vocal. I felt like the original version was just too fast. It doesn’t capture the emotion of the lyrics. I must admit, this song (the remix version) is one that I get very emotional to when times get tough.

Won’t be the same without Lebou.
I agree. To this day, I still miss Lebou.

33
She kinda looks like Lizzo here  ;D ;D

34
No wayy

Oh so that's why I couldn't find this night Koffi's 40th birthday concert at Inter.

I was also looking for that concert! There was one sebene that I wanted to hear!!

35
They really got him...  :(

36
This is so far the best Wenge concert since the Stade Des Martyrs concert. I really wanted them to perform "Kama" and so they did!!

After watching the concert, I can understand why Wenge 4X4 were better off apart. We were basically excited for absolutely nothing. Werrason was so selfish! He should never have done Makaba dirty like that.

38
Thank you for mentioning him. BTW How did Watikanya become a group? I assume that they are from brazzaville.
They're from Brazza

39
I like it too! But the synths ruined the song for me. The leaked version is definitely a lot better. In my opinion.

Congolese Music / Re: ACADEMIA CONCERTS ARE BEING REPOSTED
« on: April 03, 2022, 13:47 »

Why despite having such a popular demand Academia never reached the Wenge MM or Les Marquis status? Les Marquis to be honest it could have been a great project and still be on now if it wasn't for Egos, but it is always like that you can put all of the skilled players in one tdam, the same with PSG but what about Accademia because they was threatening Koffi's career but it seems that they dismantle before they could do it
What do you mean never reached Les Marquis status? Les Marquis didn’t even last up to a year, whilst Academia lasted 3 years. Academia had way more success than Les Marquis, Alerte Générale put a different type of pressure on Les Marquis and Miracles flopped in the beginning, whereas to this day people still debate which was a better album between Sanction and Attentat. It was Academia that had Koffi on the ropes for nearly two years and he himself knew it to the point even to this day he can’t bring himself to even say the name Academia lol. Also the fact that Academia sort of became a term when band members want to create their own off shoot group it’s named creating their own “Academia”.
It’s just the problem is Academia split before reaching their proper potential because they were clearly on their way.
Piggybacking off that last point, that is true. Because after Fabregas' musicians left, there would be guys on twitter joking about a VillaNova Academia lol.

The fact that Abel Benz was given space on the albums over Abilissi is unforgivable lmao but agreed, they had something special
Right! Especially after he did his first test onstage at LSC back in 2000 next to Bozi. He was an absolute faux chanteur.

That was a waste of 9 minutes

44
I remember JF Ifonge saying that Koffi's Ngobila was a remix of Simaro's Mabele.
I can't lie to you, it's very obvious yes!

I was looking for a good quality version of 72 Minutes De Silence by Extra Musica and it turns out that his channel is gone?
