Congolese Music / Re: Diamond feat Koffi official video
« on: December 10, 2020, 08:34 »
Very true guys very true...... What happened? The atalakus are sleepy and very boring

I have a feeling that, The studios they used to record in the past are no longer within their reach, the quality of music is very low, Yesterday I was listening to Feux D amour and Kibuisa albums. The standard was very high, listen to Papa Plus, V12. What has gone wrong, other countries music has evolved but the Congolese is stagnating why?

some guys still does not understand that those certifications are becoming more and more country-centered, you get gold diamond silver platinum in france when you reach those sales in france you can sell a million in bangladesh it counts 0 in france ,i am sure its the same in UK and in states, the same people if diamond or any african artist announces he went gold in africa would laugh at him and say its a pityful PR stunt
and about diamond putting congolese music on the map, funny aint it that he put congo on the map whereas his feat with congolese made and are on the way of making again more views than his collabs with rick ross and co
i think the real reason is that eastern africa is more into youtube and so on that central africa, even innoss with the original yo pe he keeps saying until today that the first feedback he received when he was fearing the song would flop as it coincided with arafat's death was from east africa
not bashing diamond though in any way  proper artist, the fact his collabs with congolese artist succeed just shows to congolese artists who they are forgetting they are  and often going for the wrong formulas in their individual careers to  conquer africa
all the three collabs which did well are dance songs  so its nothing more than diamond's strength plus the fact that african people know love and
respect congolese musicians for their dancing skills(not saying rumba is unknown)

You are very right Archos, Congolese Music is very revered in East Africa, so any colabo between a Congolese artist and an East Africa one will become a hit. The only problem is that Congo is no longer producing powerful Sebenes like in the 90s and 2000s. The current releases do not match the likes of Loi, Solola Bien, TH or Etat Major. The congolese musicians have shifted their focus to Rumba. I like Rumba but the majority here do not understand a word and since it is not danceable they just ignore. The current generation of Fally, Ferre and Heriter needs to reconsider their strategy if they really want to reclaim the position of congolese Music in Africa. Let us be honest, I have listened to the latest release of Heritier. You can not compare it to the likes of Loi and Pentagon that were released 23 years ago. The current music should have been better.

Congolese Music / Re: Structure of album songs
« on: October 08, 2020, 08:49 »
Etage ya Suka was my first Kofi Olomide Song to hear and like in 1994, but I didn't know the name so I went to a music shop and sing it a bit, the shop keeper  gave me Papa Plus, after listening it at home, I could not find Etage ya Suka but I enjoyed the album very much and neither did I regret to blame the shop keeper, I later managed to find Etage ya Suka in a collection that Included Ngoma Maguy. Here in Tanzania most people knew about Ngouma Maguy and Mulolo after the success of Kalay Boeing. Prior to 1993 it was all about Paris based musicians and Pepe Kale who was also using the Paris Based Musicians. But Kalayi Boeing Changed that, and the entire country and East Africa Region abandoned the likes of Arllus Mabele and Kanda Bongo Man in favour of Wenge Musica, Kofi Olomide and later on Defao

Marie Paul made a stupid choice of letting go Manda Chante. Manda did not seem like the type that had leadership aspirations during the days of Wenge El Paris. Marie Paul should have kept Manda. Manda seems to me to be more of a servant man than a leading figure.

This is a very good point, to be a good musician you need a number of attributes not only voice, Nsone has many attributes but lacks voice, Mpiana had good voice but lack other attributes like aggressiveness, that is why they complimented each other so well in Wenge.

Congolese Music / Re: Your TOP Five Quartier Latin Animators

Very Easy
1. CNN
2. Mboshi
3. Brigade
4. Bebe Kero
5. Acide Wanzambi

It shows that in original Wenge Musica, Nsone had so much unchecked power, Mpiana wa a Mr good guy president, and he has continued to be like that

There is always Feud when young Men or women come together, that is common, even the original Wenge had simmering feuds and always there are members who will start it. I do remember in one video concert, Masela called Jb and whispered something to him. Then JB went to inform Werra who rushed to confront Masela and you could see that they were bitter at each other. Very difficult to make every one happy.

Congolese Music / Re: The return of Fally's artists in Kinshasa
« on: September 09, 2020, 12:40 »
Something I don't understand here, Is it by coincidence that Heritier and Fabregas travelled the same day to Kin and Fally the following day then Fally's Musicians? What's happening in Kin?
They’ve all got concerts.

So Congo is open now for concerts?

Yes, Werra had a concert at Chez Ntemba last month.
yes but i guess not at the usual rhythm especially with the way africa follows "blindly" europe,if they see that with the second wave of corona bigger restrictions are adopted again abroad they will surely follow, imagine congo brazza is still until today under curfew at 8 of the night

Congolese Music / Re: WERRASON - SANS CONQUÉRANT (Clip Officiel)
« on: September 08, 2020, 08:58 »
Werrasons  should stop recording new songs now, and concentrate on live performance of his old songs. I now understand why JB is not releasing. He wants to be remembered for the classics he produced. Werra risks to be remembered for the craps he is currently producing.

Congolese Music / Re: DRC IS A POOR COUNTRY
« on: August 25, 2020, 13:06 »
Even Tanzania is poor, but some Musicians are very rich, Diamond owns mansions in Tanzania and SA, His fleet of cars consists of top of Range Cars, last year he gave his Mom na his former finance Brand new Toyota Landrcruisers. He also owns a Tv, a Radio Station and a Hotel. Music pays especially if you are an international one. Congolese Musicians like Fally Ipupa, Ferre, Koffi do not depend on congolese fanbase. Kofi show in Dar es saam was sold out 2 days before the show, and the entrance fee was 50 dollars. Even in poverty you will find 1000 people ready to pay that amount.

kizito he was actually with werra before bill arrived the reason he did not stay in maison mere is that werra saw in him a similar profile to bill, great dancer rough voice in process, while he  needed a guy going high to complement, which ended up benefitting celeo

Thanks Archo, you an archive

In the early days of his time in BCBG It was very difficulty to differentiate between him and Caludgi, and given the success of TITANIC over Intervention Rapide here in East Africa I, was wondering why didn't Werra went for him, it is until the release of Solola Bien when I started to see how good Bill was although I have never been impressed by CELEO

Congolese Music / Re: Kerozene's interview with Ado Yuhe
« on: August 18, 2020, 13:50 »

Shit it is sad to see how he lost his atalaku voice, why didn't Koffi develop his natural voice? Is way more enjoyable than that Bill voice imitation. Anyway I will like the interview before watching.it him Brigade and Fally created the most memreable 2:31 of Congolese history

He was a kid, and his voice was still in transformation, the one he has right now is his

We've been having this "Werra can't sing, Werra is a faux chanteur" conversation ever since this forum started & even in the old forum before this. It's all a matter of preference IMO. Werra is not the greatest singer around but he's not as bad as people here try to make it sound. Adolphe, Wazekwa etc don't sing that well either but I never see people get so heated over their singing abilities. I'd rather listen to Werra all day than listen to Adolphe. That's just me & my preferences.

A lot of people think Papa Wemba was one hell of a singer. Personally, I can't stand his singing. That doesn't make him a bad singer either.

The fact that you don't like someone doesn't necessarily make them bad

I agree with you 100 percent, every one has his preferences, to make Werra was the second best in Wenge Musica BCBG and the  second most popular and unique after that of JB Mpiana, listen to Hihoha new image how they complemented each other. However with age he has lost his voice. If you judge him based on the current releases. He is pretty average

Congolese Music / Re: KOFFI AYINA LYRICS - WERRASON
« on: August 07, 2020, 13:50 »
Kofi AYINA, is one of Werrason Classics, what happened to Bon Bon Kojack, was touted to be the next big thing, Ferre Gola replacement. He stated really well, singing Ferre Parts and and was heavily involved in Temognage but faded after that, what went Wrong?

Arches if you are reading this, help us, how Kapaya elbowed out Japonaise from the number one soloist spot, why Mboka Liya and Kusangila stay in Maison mere were very short?
