Bill was wrong by saying that he started Tshiluba in animation lol. It was Jus d'Ete Mulopwe.

Wasn't it in the 1980s when the Kwata Maja cri started?

Congolese Music / (Rare) Wenge EL Paris - Générique (1993)

This was Wenge Musica BCBG's intro in the late 1980s.

5/10, I like some of the sebenes of the album, but they could have made way lot better.

I really regret Zaïko's 1988 split. They could have become the best African group of all time.

Maybe because he doesn't own the rights (JPS' contracts)

Congolese Music / Re: Zaiko Langa Langa - Live at Cabaret Sauvage
« on: February 16, 2022, 22:14 »
I don't know why but for me its always hard to watch concerts of this Zaiko-generation. I always stop after 5/10 minutes. Like it became a trend for Congolese artists to perform at Elysee Montmartre in 2007 and 2008, the way it was a trend for artists to perform at Cabaret Sauvage in 2001 and 2002.

I only realize now that Nyoka Longo is the only bandleader that had brought a ngongi-player to Europe. I remember Werrason having one who used to be in Maison Mere from A La Que Leu Leu to Temps Present, he never came to Europe the same for the one who used to play for Koffi during the Monde Arabe-era.

I usually watch concerts from that era because I grew up watching this Zaïko team. Although I place this team on the last position if I rank them.

(I do not include the current team)
1. 1984-1988: I just think it's Zaïko's best team, the singers sound like angels
2. 1975-1982: The most influential team
3. 1969-1974: Rising Stars
4. 1988-1999
5. 2000-2008

Aahnn Grand Lacs Magazine of journalist Sam Mpengo Bey. Do you have more music archives of his magazine ?

Zaiko was not like Werra & Wenge Maison Mere to start immediately with Bercy and it was a good step for them to go for Zenith. Back then people were really focused on Werrason's double Zenith and Emeneya's Olympia. Despite big support and hype from the press about their show at Zenith, it was said that they just filled 5000 of 7000 seats and the show not being sold out like that of Werrason, Koffi Olomidé & King Kester Emeneya. To promote a Bercy show for Congolese it takes like 1 year/6 months to mobilize the whole diaspora in Europe. I don't remember to hear any noise from Zaiko about promoting a show at Bercy

Unfortunately I don't have more of his articles. I got this one from Zaïko's old website.

Same here, I never saw any promotion about the concert in Bercy. Do you think they would have filled it? I think they would have filled half the hall

I wonder what was the reason of the concert being cancelled.

Does anyone know it?

The intro... A 14-min spoiler, I'll comeback after I finish the interview. It's seems more interesting than the first one.

In the teaser, I saw he confirmed the Sony CBS contract being presented to Zaïko, but I guess admins didn't want others to have very good lives like them. But I think it also has another bad side, Sony would have wanted Zaïko to make commercial music (adapted to larger audiences, shorter songs...)
