I always wonder myself what was the reason of their fall out. They had their first fall out from 93 to 96 during the Noblesse Oblige/Magie/V12 era. Wemba responded in Foridoles and Pôle Position they squashed it in 1996 and they recorded the classic Wake Up album.

The conflict resurged in 1998 when the dancers from Nouvelle Écriture started to laugh at the dancers of Quartier Latin because of the way Koffi was treating them in Europe. They were living in one appartment and have to ask authorization to go out. Meanwhile Bendoson started to date Nono Diamant which angered Koffi and pleased Wemba. That's what I heard.

Maybe it's the reason why Papa Wemba and Nouvelle Écriture started to diss a Koffi who was then hurted by the split up with the Academia guys in Fula Ngenge. Koffi respond in Attentat by throwing shots at Wemba himself or by using Babia,CNN and co.

But that beef was very tense from 1998 to 2001. I remember years ago there was a video on YouTube of Clubs des stars with Thierry Pinzi where Nouvelle Ecrita (Apocalypse) and QLI were invited to do play backs. And Apoca started to diss them and Fally,Gipson and Jordan responded to him very hard. Especially Jordan lol.

For real ? He really did that ? Lmao

I would like to know how and when they both squashed this beef.

Congolese Music / Re: ONE OF THE SONGS OF NYATAQUANCE

You have the right to like the currents Koffi songs but don't tell to other to stop "whining" about the old days that's their right.

Freedom of speech man.

When you're saying that it seems like we have to force ourselves to like every new songs Koffi Werra and co have released recently.

No man if I (and others) don't like the current trend full of senseless rumbas with sexual references (they going to far man you have to understand lingala)  and the same type of lyrics which are always about love, that's our right.

And I think it's justified because our music has never been as low as it is
: repetitive albums, leaders who don't really give their artists opportunities except Fally and Ferre (and I personnally think they can do more) lack of european tours because of thé "combattants" issue, silly polemics who become very personal and stupid and they better put their energy to produce quality music instead of behaving like kids, copying ivoiran nigerian style which is to me very bad move we should stick to our roots and to what we know to do better than others because copying coupe décalé style is not benefic for our music.

So don't be surprised if people who witnessed the 80's 90's early 2000's don't feel the music of Fally,Ferre,Fabregas,Héritier, Deplik,Robinho and don't tell us to not express our thoughts.

this video alone shows how different polemic from the past was
as surprising as it is there was worse things then than now but at least here you could feel it was mainly banter while today its deep hate

Totally agree at least it pushed them to produce quality music to top their rivals now it's all about stupid polemic they better put their strenght to put better music instead of boring rumbas

I thought Willy Bula left because he had a conflict with Koffi he even refused to participate to the first version of Ultimatum recorded in Kenya in late 1996-early 1997(with vocals of Babia and Eric Tutsi) because of that.

Speaking of Bivens I think he left Quartier Latin at the same time because Koffi prefer the Somono-Mboshi duo and it seems like he was not using him that much after the release of V12.

When did Aladji left Quartier Latin because he have a vocal in Magie it seems like he dissapear after that did he went solo ? Joined another group ? What he is doing now ? Sorry if i'm asking too much questions lol.

Where was JDT ? Was he suspended or sick ?

Wow i didn't know that he briefly joined Shora's band. Did he joined Shora's band or was he just a guest on this album ?

309
Why this album took too much time to be released ?

What happened between Nouvelle Écriture and Cour des Grands when Nouvelle Écriture first came to Europe in the late 90's ? Was there some jealousy from the Reddy,Stino camp against Bendoson,Pompom Miyake, and co ?

Monde Arabe's format was in response to Karmpa's first album Je m'apelle toi love moi, which garnered high praise from Koffi's idol, Tabu Ley on national television. He stated that artists had lost plot by doing too much noisy dance music and labeled newcomer Karmpa as the heir to rhumba.

This incensed Koffi and he shot back by creating an album dominated by strong rhumbas. There were other artists who also weren't too happy about seigneur Ley's criticism.

Had SonoDisc/Next music not gone bankrupt and if Monde arabe was released a year earlier at the end of 2003, it would've had the same format as Effrakata & ADE.

It would've been better had they not taken the criticism so personally, in my opinion

Wow really? This kills me inside.

Yes Monde Arabe was supposed to have the same format as Effrakata but Koffi was very touched by the way Tabu Ley criticised him for abandoning the Tcha Tcho style so he decided to drop sebenes I learned that in this forum I was a little bit mad against Tabu Ley's past comments because indirectly it kill congolese music he also said that he was dissapointed by Papa Wemba.

Personally I think he was wrong back in those days 2003-04 era nobody was complaining because artists back then used to release strong quality albums with good songs and their rhumbas were not obscene and senseless as it is today. You had the "carré magique" The golden WMMM,BCBG, the Real (yes i said Real QLI) Quartier Latin who used to give Wenge generation hard competition, Nouvelle Écriture with Alpatchino,Apocalypse released strong albums like A La Une Mwalimu,Somo Trop even groups like Zaiko Langa Langa who had just released Eureka were still putting good albums like Poison by example.

Now when people thinks about congolese music they think about the old classics albums like Solola Bien,Loi,Titanic,Effrakata ect and people who witnessed the 80's 90's early 2000's tends to listen old songs instead of current releases. Even back then they were not complaining about the then current music because they were always quality albums being released

What happened with Makenga in 1994 ? He have a vocal in the generique of Magie then he dissapeared it seems like he dissapeared of the musical scene. In the credits is written that Sans Suite was composed by Suzuki and him. Where is he now ?

Matebu, that's all true but koffi was the one that started the dominated rhumba trend with Monde Arabe. Not only that he didn't completely utilize the great team he had and  he let them split them up. Not only that, he lets cindy take over later on. He was the one that started this underwhelming trend. Because of his decline that he could have easily avoided, that enabled other african music genres to take over the scenes. I do admit that the decline of the other major groups had major contributions to the decline.

That's right he was the first to launch that f***ing trend with Monde Arabe and then continued with Danger de Mort and Fally popularised that style with Droit Chemin then everyone started to drop sebenes in favor of unproductive and soft rhumbas until today that makes me so mad  and so angry especially when that style came out in the mid-late 2000's even Werra and JB started to do that which really surprised me at that time and i always Wonder why. They lost the Wenge rythm.

The last albums that really pleased me are les Marquis's Miracles and Témoignage then I always been dissapointed by every recent releases it's always the same thing only kids and girls love that. I remember being soooo dissapointed by Monde Arabe because we wasn't used to rhumbas taking over sebenes back then.

Defao and Manda Chante released good albums this year but it seems like quality albums will never get the reception they deserved to no wonder why Congolese music has declined.
