Congolese Music / Re: New Feature: Facebook post embedding
« on: March 03, 2024, 05:24 »
I corrected your post. You need to search for the three dots in the upper right corner of posts or videos on Facebook and click the "Copy Link" option there to get the correct link. If it is missing you need to choose the "Embed" option as mentioned above in the starting post. It is a bit different where to search for what, but I will post a comprehensive video tutorial about this soon here at the forum so you can check for every type of site what you need to do. Not all links work because Facebook create tons of links and changes their type time by time.

Congolese Music / New Feature: Facebook post embedding
« on: February 29, 2024, 12:55 »
I am glad to report that from now on, Facebook post embedding works. You know Facebook links vary, it may happen some kind of links won't display, but the 100% method is:
- click the the three dots in the upper right corner of the post
- select embed
- click the blue facebook icon on the right below the button: copy code
- the post url will open
- copy the link of the post, insert it here
- delete the "?ref=embed_post" tag from the end of the link

Know it is a bit complicated, but Facebook uses so many type of links that the forum cannot handle all, only the original basic link.

You may also try to find playlists on streaming platforms like Spotify.

It just came to my mind one of colleagues has a son in Congo. I will see if I can ask for his playlist. If yes I will share it here in this thread.

Unfortunately I am not well informed about new tracks. If noone has better idea here, what you can do is to find some Congolese TV channnel or a radio streamed online, where you can get the new titles.

Congolese Music / New security update
« on: February 25, 2024, 11:29 »
Hi everyone!

From today, this is the new address of Congovibes: https://congovibes.com

With this the problem that virus scanners and browsers blocking the site should be gone. Theoretically though, because your browser may need some time to forget the old type of address. So in case you notice any error, browser not loading the forum, error page appearing when browsing the forum, etc. please take a screenshot of the error and report it here. Hopefully it won't be needed though.

Cheers!

(Ricky Pistone is a multitalented New York City-based musician. Not only is he a session guitarist, bassist, and singer, but also a songwriter and creative. From Carnegie Hall to Cafe Wha?, he has done it all. After getting his BA in music at JMU, he traveled the whole world while playing musicals in cruise ships until he decided to move to NYC. Living in the City, Ricky has deep rooted himself in performing, producing, arranging, songwriting and passing it all forward through teaching. Being immersed in such a vibrant city has influenced the approach and technique to everything Ricky does in music. Either working as a side-man, or as a solo artist, you will feel his very presence within each note.)

Post the link from the share option menu. You click the share arrow besides the tiktok video, select copy link, and that will display the video. the same applies for other platforms as well. Always search for the "Copy link" option in the Share menu.
