Few hours ago i was watching on tv an analysis of some congolese journalists over congolese music and the bad sides of it and all of them who are pretty close to artists said that even on Kinshasa concerts leaders take 75 per cent of the contract and in most cases kin concerts rarely go above 10000 dollars and most groups have 40+ employees so its a reason why many musicians are leaving but they also faulted the same musicians of doing worse one guy for example said he has friends in ferre and fally bands and sometimes you'd see them come from zambia or abidjan or elsewhere and those guys will ask you at airport if you can help them out with 100 dollars as they received nothing but funnily enough those guys once going on tv will boast like they came back with thousands of dollars and if they do not do that they can be neglected by their leaders and he went on to say the reason fally did not promote libre parcours properly is that his musicians are too media shy whereas in the system which himself went through no matter what happens you have to promote yourself even if its not to boast,regardless of whether you are getting some money or not so he punished their laziness and when they are on long europe trips they'd sometimes when they are happy send the odd 60 dollars to 150 to some of their band members when they are not bothered you cant stay like that until they come back but dont even think about turning up late or missing out a concert or in some groups there are fines like 50 100 dollars

Look at the amount of people who were brought on tour including those with the fire stunts and how happy the mood was in this era and how it allowed our artists to be really creative in their shows now you are extremely lucky to get 20 25 visas let alone perform
