Sly, this is not a small thing, its serious because these guys are in a political argument and can even kill looking at the way they talk on video. Secondly, Congolese music disturbed, has a potential to cause less revenue to artists and their employees and indirectly, to the Congolese Governments who benefit from the music, and Beer Giants who make Primus and Skol...thats the mix.

The authorities in those countries were the idiots are, need to be reminded by Kabila of the need to act, then things will work. And the police in those countries also need a network to understand the group fully, ie which countries are mostly affected, who is connected to who and so fourth.

It is a very simple matter especially here in the UK, if someone had to be serious and follow up and gather evidence and present a dossier to Police here like Werrasonique de Zim wanted to do, these chaps would be arrested one by one and those with no strong cases of being here in the UK would be sent back to Congo after spending time in jail here. The chaps are not terrorists but threatening violence etc is another case, the likes of Bokestshu who go on youtube and make death threats against kabila would have been arrested by now.

When I pointed out that Young Makaba would  knock out the dancing soloist you guys were making the same noise; Flesh Ingeta will shut y'all up. lead guitar in Zamba has never sounded any better, that's what look out for nowadays.

Which dancing soloist?
You're trying to compare a soloist who only started recording last year to seasoned and much more experienced soloists. Yes, Arc en Ciel knows how to play lead but Maison Mere has had better soloists, there's nothing new Arc En Ciel is bringing to Maison Mere, all thes songs he's been playing and learning on were recorded by great soloists who have moved on, bring this debate when he's recorded 3 albums!

What you guys do not want to admit is that this problem has now become a war and since the diaspora or Europe is being used as a proxy land to use for revenge and fighting by Combattants, the only solution is through bilateral means. Paris, Belgium or London, SA etc needs to be engaged by the Kinshasa Government and use Interpol to deal with these chaps. Its that simple and I am shocked that Mr. Kabila is not doing anything to deal with these terrorists...Artists or fans can unite, but if Governments are not involved, nothing tangible will come out of the effort.

Interpol does not come in,the chaps can be dealt with by Police in the respective countries they currently reside in, all these chaps are just ordinary chaps with no weapons and when they've assaulted musicians like Papy Kakol, they should have been reported to Police, the threats they give on youtube can also go against them as Werrasonique de Zim suggested since the idiots don't hide their faces.

Kabila does not need to come in, there is no need to as it is a small matter it's only that the musicians themselves are a bit dull to realise that they can actually fight and win this battle legally. If they went to court and an order was put in place that these idiots are arrested if they show up at concerts, you would see how they would run and go underground as probably most of them are just seeking their papers, they have no legal status to be where they are, only a minority moreover causing terror in a foreign country as a foreigner has it's own consequences.

I  would  have loved to see Kibangu battle Young Makaba...

Impossible task, when Kimbangu was at Maison Mere, the chap you call young Makaba was either on mi-solo or rhythm if Kimbangu was present, that should tell you a lot about who the real soloist was. It was the same even with Japonais and Kapaya, Kapaya forced Werra to push Japonais to rhythm as clearly Kapaya was more powerful on solo, the same happened when Viva La Musica soloist Thierry Mogratana joined Maison Mere, he was stuck on mi-solo and only played as soloist when Kapaya was absent and only on a couple of songs on each of the albums released during his time at Maison Mere.

Arc En Ciel or Petit Makaba has now caught up with the style that Kapaya and other great soloists set as standards at the band but he is miles behind Kimbangu and the likes of Christian Bombole who went straight to the number one spot as lead soloists in their time at Maison Mere.

I still have not listened to this but to be honest these days an artist can only make money through concerts......surely, all the songs and video uploaded on youtube?

Yes, if you want to make your songs popular then better flood them on the market, no one buys this shit anymore, too many rhumbas all sounding the fucking same and weak generiques so there is no loss but gain when they are put on youtube,it makes it easier for people to follow the songs and dance steps easier at concerts.

I still call then cowards  because they are seated somewhere in Europe where they enjoy freedom they never fought for to intimidate fellow country men.

wazekwa had  filed a complaint officially and was really determined to  go until the end but his staff told him to withdraw it and talk with combattants,if he knew that one year after that nothing had changed and they still did not want to talk he would not have listened to his staff

I think Wazekwa needs to push others to go after these chaps head on in court.

What is killing these bands is the many rhumbas they do against the number of sebene songs, they are all failing. The current arrangement of sebene/generiques is also poor, too much coupe decalle and forklore.

If you look at most succeesful musicians from Congo these days, most of them have links to Papa Wemba, he's not directly involved in causing break ups of bands but he probably gives honest and sound business advice that it's better to be a solo artist or have a band with fewer leaders than being a band with 6 leaders and the leaders always bickering as they fight for power. These days it's just illogical to be a group act especially with the current scenario where musicians cannot even tour due to the so called combattants who are up against them. It's best to be a solo artist and put food on your table and have change to do other businesses, JB Mpiana, Werrason, Ferre Gola and Fally Ipupa are shining examples.

@windeck said: Sly  you don't have a good argument because you are coming off as trying hard to  make Fally into something that his not..

Yes, I probably don't have a good argument because I really don't care about his personal life, I pay much attention to his work but I listen to what his fans and rivals say in their course of work,he's been accused of being a buttiboy, it's not my job to justify or prove that those allegations are true, the accusations wouldn't just have come up from nowhere.

On older forums which you were probably not a member of, we discussed and reported related stories of Fally, his life and associated,we posted photos of of him and his associates and all that so I have nothing else to prove or justify now, all those who know the boy Fally know his life, it's his problem not ours.

lol yeah he is well capable,in the last tour he took 11 non-artists,that's too much, especially with the restricted visas of these days,it was nice when they got 80 visas like in bercy days, but not now

Yeah. I guess the journalists pay a lot of money to be assisted to go to Europe.

yeah, spot on,jb needs to let his musicians fully use their creativity and not forcing them to stick to  bcbg/zaiko identity for sebene and tchatcho for rumba
the guitarists especially a guy like patou has proven he can play diffefrently in the few songs he was allowed to,so why sticking with bcbg identity which is kinda old school ALL THE TIME

Excellent analysis archos. JB needs to let the guys reach their full potential, he forces them to play by the book, Patou tries to spice things up but I must say he seems to have lost the steam too, he's not really meant to be at a band like BCBG, if that guy were to join Maison Mere he would shock rhumba lovers with his guitar works.

I will listen in full over the weekend but so far am disappointed, I have been sampling and only listened to one sebene and the closing song a forklore one,the rest are rhumbas so nothing new really. The generique sounds like a continuation of his older generiques, the arrangement is the same and so is the sound quality.

by the way,at the end roger ngandu said something interesting,he has french nationality now after his month in france,1 visa free for a musician then

I guess JB will take one more journalist in Roger's place.

Fire for fire!!! We need lawyers amongst the music fans to team up with musicians and get combattants locked up one by one!
