Suzuki has the most energy. He can still sing. I am happy about it.

The generique preview is so good. It sounds perfect.

Congolese Music / Re: AH, I MISS THE ATTAQUANT DE POINTE JB
« on: August 12, 2021, 01:27 »
;D ;D ;D Oh boy. JB was the first to say that Koffi does not have Congolese roots that you hear now. I know that Koffi Olomide was born in Kisangani because he lived in a house where my great aunt had owned. I heard that his dad is Togolese and his mom is half tetela. He did a song for the son of Gnassingbe Eyadema called Boucle.
Here are the versions

Babia showed that hes the best singer in quartier latin on Detresse and showed it again on Dossier Du Jour. this shouldnt be a debate
Some people have more love for other 1st voice singers.

515
It is so important you discuss this. Drummers never have appreciation from their fellow musicians and often they are mocked for some weird reason. Titina Al Capone spoke about this which is why he left JB in 2001.

This is a great album. What I hated was that Bozi Boziana and Papa Wemba did not do a duet together in this great album.

I think that you don't understand me with the term tenorist. In Congolese music tenorists are singers who hit very high notes I, singers like Mimi Ley, Aimelia Lias, Papy Jah, Mustapha Nkori, Ferre Gola, Babia Ndonga, Eric Tutsi, Dakumuda, Debaba, etc. 1ere voix are those who have soft voice or sing high but not high like tenorists singers like Shella Mputu, Soleil Wanga, Willy Bula, Mamale, Alain Mpela, Oxygene, Sam Tshintu, Tabu Ley, José Fataki, etc. Second voice singers are those who sing like Pepe Kalle, Doudou Copa, Werrason, King Kester Emeneya, Stino Mubi, Reddy Amisi, etc.
I know what you are talking about. I am a member of a church choir.
1st voice is generally like this according the European musical system which we all follow.
Tenor 1 and Tenor 2 are first voices. Bass 1 and Bass 2 are second voices.
Tenor 1 is high tenor
Tenor 2 is low tenor
Bass 1 is high baritone
Bass 2 is low baritone or bass

For me (I think but I can be wrong)
Tenor 1 would be likes of Adamo Ekula, Nyboma, Babia Ndonga, Papa Wemba, Blaise Matadidi, Didier Lacoste, Heritier, Jpson, Mimi Ley, Eric Tutsi, Debaba, Luciana, Evoloko Jocker, Misha Mfum, Eric Menthe, Papy Jah, Ntesa, Likinga Redo, Youlou Mabiala and etc.
Tenor 2 would be likes of Carlyto Lassa, Kiese Diambu, Lokombe Ntal, Papy Balayi, Lassa Pambele, Tabu Ley, Papy Tex, Alain Mpela, Fally Ipupa, Ferre Gola, JB Mpiana, Desouza Santu, Djuna Djanana, Soki Dianzenza, Sam Mangwana, Djo Mpoyi, Papa Djoss, Vicky Longomba, Pamelo Mounka, Ballou Canta, Malage de Lugendo, Dindo Yogo and etc.
Bass 1 would be JP Buse (he was lucky to sing tenor 2 at times), Kester Emeneya, Pepe Kalle, Doudou Copa, Willy Bula, Stino Mubi, Reddy Amisi, Werrason, Blaise Bula, Djodjo Ikomo, Franco (some will say tenor but I think high baritone), Michel Boyibanda, Solo Sita, Dilu Dilumona, Madilu System, Serge Mabiala, Josky Kiambukuta, Baby Ndombe, J Trois, Marie Paul, Elba Top A, JDT, Savanet Depitcho, Defao, Bozi Boziana, Gina Efonge, Mamale, Soki Vangu and etc.
Bass 2 would be Koffi Olomide, Nyoka Longo, Suzuki Luzubu 4x4, Modogo Abrahamwa, Jordan Kusa, Lengi Lenga Ya Lengos, Olivier, Cappucino, Montana Kamenga, JF Ifonge, Felix Wazekwa, Bola Bolithe, Djo Poster, Mulembu, Nzaya Nzayadio and etc.

Congolese Music / Re: A happy Ado Yuhe interviewing a dancer
« on: August 09, 2021, 01:32 »
I think Ado is married and is probably married to a former dancer hence why he has so much joy interviewing dancers. I believe that he has a son with her too. He had mentioned his son in a interview with Kija Brown the Ambassador.

Modogo. No doubt. Doing a 2eme voix is a little bit easier then doing the first one but man Modogo voice is golden
Thank you for saying that. Second voice is much easier. It is not as demanding as first voice. A lot of say other wise which is strange.

520
Babia, Eric Tutsi and Ferre Gola aren't 1ere voix singers, they are tenorists. Asso is a 2eme voix singer.
You are right about Asso. But Babia, Eric and Ferre are. However with Ferre Gola, he can sing second voice equally well too. But he is naturally first voice but not as high as Babia and Eric. Babia was much higher than Eric and Ferra.

521
I'm pretty sure that Willy Bula and Depitcho are premiere voix
They are second voices but they sing slightly higher than some 2nd voice singers. But they are second voice type of singers.

522

Congolese Music / Re: Papy Jah interview
« on: August 07, 2021, 20:45 »
Sorry Papy Jah but he is wrong. Digital Media is the way now. He needs to find his way into Digital Media. He is a great singer and we want to hear him.

How did this become a thing. I am surprised this controversy was such a thing. What was the cause?
