Tutu Callugi had also said that Aimela was the reason why Ferre Gola did not join Wenge BCBG. Here is the interview which he talked the same subject. Funny that Werrason fans got so mad about it.
As I said, Koffi became Cindy centered and decided to throw away potential good talents. I mean both older and younger cast. He could have done one disc with him and Cindy and another one with late Babia, Suzuki, Junior Kingombe, Joss Diena, and Jitrois on another disc with Mopao singing as he sees fit. But instead, everything became Cindy centered and now QL is a shithole group. The only good singer from the current is Omba. The rest don't impress me one bit.
Ibrator Mpiana really sounds very similar to Modogo of QL. He has a great voice as a second voice individual. I actually think they should do a duet album. Their voices meld very well together. I hope Sam Tshintu will do a song with JB Mpiana. I wonder why JB and Sam have never collaborated as stars?
I am surprised to hear these two brothers sing together but they have good harmony as a duo. They are just as good as Soki Brothers. I agree. They need to make a duo album. I wonder why Willy Bula did not go to Wenge Musica. I feel Willy's voice was made more for Wenge Musica than Quartier Latin. Just my opinion.
I understand what everyone is saying. Felix Tshisekedi is wrong for arresting for her. But at the same time, I have no sympathy for her. Chickens are coming home for roost for Kabila supporters. Now they get a taste of their own music for what they did to opposing forces for 18 years. Kabila supporters will have their day and when they do, I will not feel any empathy towards them.
Just out of curiosity, did Koffi ever collaborate with Franco or did he ever do any shout to Franco....? How did Koffi relate to Franco?
No direct collabo that i know of and don't know if they actually even met but in the past i read some disrespetful comments allegedly by Koffi on Franco's guitar skills. The closest Koffi ever came to Franco was when he collaborated with TPOK Jazz's Josky Kiambukuta on the 1983 Koffi song Ngobila and others from his(Koffi's) first album Ngounda and when TPOK was when he featured on a live TPOK Jazz studio session and sang his song Ngobila alongside Madilu System and Josky Kiambukuta backed by TPOK Jazz Band including Vice President Lutumba Simaro on rhythm guitar, Franco wasn't present at least whilst Koffi sung with the duo. The song Ngobila is like Koffi's own version of Lutumba Simaro's Ebale Ya Zaire.
Let me add a little context to the video that DJ Sly is speaking. Actually this video was in 1992. Franco had already passed on. Here is the video in case that you are not sure.
BTW Nyoka Longo did talk about Koffi and Franco here as well as even mentioning Pepe Kalle during his beef with Koffi
