Congolese Music / THE HAS TO BE TOP 3 THE WORST!
« on: November 07, 2017, 21:14 »

This has to be worse I've seen, I think Ferre is upset but he should have calmed himself down the girl interviewer got the best out of him. Secondly I think his really upset more with you know who then likely rival Fally because certain of the stories didn't make sense what's really up with this music scene. Ferre normally is a quiet guy I've seen him talk like this in Maison Mere when the war was really at boiling point he never talked with such aggression all they way in Les Marquis (era), QL & solo career (bar the Werrason moment) but I think his upset maybe he should have done this for his own sake the might be potentially the biggest cold war to start since QL & BCBG!

Wow!, this guy was ahead of his time, every song he made in that group was a HIT!, now look at him. But this acoustic version was really good what a group!.

Congolese Music / WHICH GENERATION OF BIG STARS WAS BETTER
« on: September 05, 2017, 20:56 »
Which Generation/era do you prefer?

1st Generation: Montana Kamenga, Djodjo Bayinge (top singer, reminds me of Dindo Yogo), Adoli Bamweniko, Debleu Kinanga, Teddy Bukasa, Bakolo Keta, Azanga (underrated animator), Richa Cogna-Cogna, Burkina Faso Mboka Liya, Ladi Mbala, Jagger Bokoko, Mogus Santu, Jean-Louis Bikunda& Guy wa Nzambi (top bass players)

2nd Generation: President Montana Kamenga, Deblue Kinanga, Teddy Bukasa, Bakolo Keta, Kabose Bulembi, Eugene Makuta (replacement of Djodjo another top singer!), Jirbo Ntunta, Mardochee Kayembe, Theo Mbala (no.1 animator), Charles Kaptutu, Djudjuchet, Renato Mondele, Laurent Kadogo, Ladi Mbala, Tshotsholi, Jean-Louis Bikunda, Blaise La Bamba & Eddy Kandimbo

I think I'm going with the 2nd Generation the overall ambience was better plus the group reached another height easily top 3 groups in the late 90s. One thing upsets me how Defao never continued this group many singers and animator could have been in the group including CNN, Jordan Kusa, Bourman Idolo, Mbetenge and many others. Can we have short career on this group please  :).

I'm missing 7/7's these days. I know later Felix was able to bring classic sebene's but in this album the reached the next level, hono kapanga and doudou wonderful. But Gessac around this time was arguably the best animator of 2004 close competition with Bill & Genta (sometimes if you don't pay attention you'd think it's with Bill, Genta or an older Kerozene). I love to see him get the same respect his underrated in my opinion!

Congolese Music / ONE OF THE BEST CHOIRS OF ALL TIME
« on: December 17, 2016, 16:10 »

That Choir of Debaba, Carlyto & Defao shaped the future style of Quartier Latin mixed with the Wenge influence. That trio 10/10!

Congolese Music / MAN BABY NDOMBE HAS SO MUCH HIDDEN TALENT
« on: November 13, 2016, 12:24 »

Underrated musician, I mean so sad how he got blocked by Maison Mere in his last days he needed big promotion for his album but nevertheless his album was quality apart from the sebene's but the slow songs great attempt these two stood out for me along with his song A La Queue Leu Leu I wish he at least went to Les Marquis that would have kept him relevant he disappeared to quickly.

Congolese Music / WHY DIDN'T THEY PEFORM THIS IN BERCY
« on: October 23, 2016, 20:14 »

That blend between the first team and pipiyu was good along with the energetic star dancers, till this day I wonder why JB never gave pipiyu space they deserved to give the 1st team more energy because their rivals Maison Mere were too quick for them and if he had sent the whole team not only 5 singers he should have bought Cellulaire, Sakoko, Armand and the others that visa had enough space for all of them. Plus, I think Chikito would have been a star if he had more exposure.

Congolese Music / LONG TIME CLASSIC
« on: October 15, 2016, 13:12 »

Man!, I've heard many versions of this song but Gosh!, this version the voice and cohesion is just out of this world, no rubbish singers straight 10/10 and supergroups need to come back!

Wow! just listened to this album and I think this is where Wenge really took their style from (Emeneya: Werra, Joli Mubiala: Blaise Bula, Petit Prince: Adolphe/Alain Mpela & Debaba: JB/Aimelia/Manda/Ferre) plus the guitarists took a lot from Victoria rhythm (strong similarities with Tofla (RIP) & Safro Manzangi) plus Victoria were truly ahead of time the chorus and vocals 10/10!
