Congolese Music / SPEAKING OF TENORIST ATALAKUS
« on: May 04, 2018, 19:45 »
Speaking of Tenorist atalaku's these 3 completely changed animation for ever.

1) Tutu Caludji (the first)
2) Mboshi Lipasa (the second)
3) Theo Mbala (the underrated)

I swear Theo had some crazy melody when animating I explain later on below.

I would say Quartier Latin as well especially his first stint even second stint but Koffi didn't appreciate him and he's claiming him now but Werrason actually helped him to become fearless, confident and lone-fighter that he is now simple.

Congolese Music / DIDIER MASELA WAS A MASTER AT BASS!!!
« on: April 13, 2018, 17:59 »

I swear Didier Masela was a beast on bass, he played with so much ease left a great blueprint (along with Christian Mwepu) for future bassists e.g. Mimiche and Michel. 5:16 on this video crazy!!!

Listen to this guy something else he is 5:40 and onwards

Tricky one because I think JB is underrated in this forum, he stayed strong until the embargo came around 2002 and still stood strong and relevant till today but Werrason that team was a dream team and had too much pace/speed for BCBG to handle even though JB could have matched them with the original Pipiyu of Bercy and 2nd/3rd of Wenge BCBG around Kipe Ya Yo/Quel Est Ton Probleme I think that's what let JB down he couldn't match the raw fresh speed of WMMM by being stubborn to promote the reserves team as the 1st team in my opinion.

Congolese Music / UNAPPRECIATED ALBUM
« on: February 27, 2018, 19:56 »
Guys, do you believe that Heritier's album Retirada is still unappreciated in our music scene, artistically speaking I don't believe his being congratulated enough, that album and the songs were almost a masterpiece.

Fally Ipupa doesn't have a good vision with wanting to record a duo-album with Koffi Olomide to let people forget about Wake Up.

So you're trying to say that planned duo album will not materialize if so then I don't what's really wrong Fally apart from his international success and recognition, artistically he is regressing I believe with Koffi coaching him in a joint album that'll help him a lot I hope he doesn't cancel that proposed album.

Congolese Music / THIS MAN WAS DEFINTELY AN INFLUENCE
« on: January 25, 2018, 19:32 »

Lol, I believe Craig David was a big influence to Fally early on around 2000-2003, Fally even looked exactly like him plus listen to his vocal on Suivez le Guide complete similarity, I wonder how an Fally album would sound around those years.

Congolese Music / CRAZY TO THINK HOW MUCH PAPA WEMBA LIKED JB
« on: December 03, 2017, 16:35 »

Papa Wemba really liked JB seriously he'd even call him "President", "Mukulu" and all other names, I remember music fan Asha Movoto saying Papa Wemba said "because of you made me a JB fan." not many leaders would do that but Papa Wemba was never shy of that weird.

Same situation in Maison Mere Baby Ndombe vs Ferre Gola notice how when one was dancing both them will start feeling uncomfortable, when Ferre does his solo dance Baby goes away or Ndombe dance Ferre puts a straight face and refuses to smile and both look each other from the corner of their eyes all this Werrason knew if they are to be friends they can start something against Maison Mere he feared that same with Koffi If you watch that 1st properly Fally dedicates Ferre and Ferre wants to dedicate him back Koffi comes and snatches that microphone, I do think at the start they had no problems until Koffi purposely caused polemic between the two I think so not confirming.

Congolese Music / Re: THE RHYTHM GUITAR IS TOO SWEET
« on: November 28, 2017, 22:13 »
Mvulusi96, I would like to know where did he get inspired from concerning those melodies I mean he's well creative when in comes to create certain melodies but I reckon this natural guitarist help me anyway it's more polished like Do Akongo and Popolipo, Like did you see the popolipo played the rhythm nice and smooth whereas Koffi's version is more raw which is also good too.

Congolese Music / THE RHYTHM GUITAR IS TOO SWEET
« on: November 28, 2017, 21:09 »

Ah man from the late 80s & late 00s (especially late 80s & early 90s) koffi's rhythm guitar partitions are so sweet and soft (reminds of Smooth Jazz), 2:24 listen to Popolipo's version (what's the title of the song?) so lovely.

Another song, the melody & rhythm too rich and soft.

9:02 rhythm guitar partition by Fofo Le Collegien, beautiful the original partition for Bilan before it was remixed.

Wow the guitar levels of our country is surely fantastic.

Congolese Music / JUST A PROPOSITION
« on: November 28, 2017, 21:01 »
Can we have a article on the history of the Congolese rhythm guitar and the evolution of the rhythm guitar. Also the styles the has been played from Generation to generation (E.g. Fiesta, Odemba, Clan-Langa Langa, Viva, Clan Wenge & 5th Generation)???

Anyone willing to do this?

Congolese Music / THAT CHOIR IS SURELY ONE OF THE BEST
« on: November 24, 2017, 12:08 »

This line-up was excellent but how the structure of quartier Latin's choir is weird it's like there all singing in one tone instead of singing in their own natural voices. the 2nd Generation highlighted this well it was like 8 singers all singing at once, plus I don't like how koffi went over the top of their voices it more organic on their own but in this song 10/10 I wish Chokoro sang in this album too that surely would have been no.1 choir hats off (Sam, Modogo, Geco & Suzuki).
