Congolese Music / Re: ONE OF ONE WITH FERRE IN KENYA

Ferre is not complaining, i should think. That hotel room is paradise compared to Kin right about now!!!!

Archos,  that is not some kind of "calm life"...It is absolute redundancy.

Spot on. JB should decide whether he is still a musician and give us consistent high quality music or whether he is a businessman and stop making us wait!!!. There is no calm life. He is either actively a musician or he should stick to Snapchat and let us concentrate on more serious artists.

I never took this guy seriously even amid the hype that has sorrounded him on this site. Seems I was the fool. This song gets to me. Its the kind of rhumba i enjoy. Everything is well done. Vocals upto speed, concept of video professional and the beat, which is always my first consideration melodious enough for my taste. Definitely a good start.

Congolese Music / Re: NEW SONG SWAGG BY SOLEIL WANGA
« on: December 14, 2016, 09:34 »
the bias on this forum at times can be felt all the way to the international space station i swear. the likes of fally and ferre and koffi, werra, the late papa wemba, the established guys in general, have been doing crossover songs for ages and it has always been tolerated on this forum or if not out-rightly celebrated while everyone else especially those on the fringes and trying to make it big gets beaten over the head for not doing pure congolese rumba. fally for example has been doing "nigga" mannerisms, style, slang, and music effects ever since he brought out "droit chemin". but oh no, how dare soleil wanga utter "swagg" out of his mouth and do a non-traditional congolese rumba/sebene song.

come on guys.

Your point is duly noted. Personally, i have never and will never enjoy any crossover music from my favourite group of Congolese musician and this includes all Wenge, QL, Extra originals and offshoots and other mainstream 4th and 5th gen musicians. I dont even have time for Coupe de Calle crap. For me its melodious rhumba followed closely by hard hitting sebene. Nothing more. That is what informed my comment. But even those who can bear this crossover bullshit would like something well done at least. THIS is not THAT. And it pays to clarify that I enjoy almost all other Wanga's offerings. Liyebo and D. Blanc are some of my all time favs.

Bouro Mpela was so mature about this. Its expected that most of the others would talk badly of Koffi since bashing him is a popular sport, even on this site. If the article was painting Koffi in bad light, this thread would be on fire right now, but since Bouro Mpela has spoken well of Mopao, dont expect many replies on this one. Koffi is not an angel yes but the poison we direct his way is ridiculous!!!

Of course Copa is one of my favourite artists when it comes to rhumba. I had been hooked to Pondu ya Limbondo till i listened to Madesu twice. That song is a gem. On my playlist on repeat replay repeat!!!!

If I was the judge on ferres case, I would find him guilty of contributing to killing of Congolese music. The guy has clearly failed and is hanging on 100 kilos for a long time without producing anything.

I'm still waiting for the day you actually make a meaningful criticism about this man's music without completely writing off everything he has produced since 100 kilos without sounding like you're talking out of your ass

He he he heheheheehe!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Looking forward. Am a sucker for rhumba

His instagram is so annoying. He puts clips of random people listening to his lame and boring rhumba.

Boring??!! Your trash is my treasure. Right now Andy Mputu and Litaka are on replay on my stereo!!!!

The subjectivity on this site is nauseating....JV has got it spot on. The fact that you have not seen Ferre work out before Fally does not mean he wasnt. Or do you have dates when each started hitting the gym? Kindly share!!! Added to that the half assed reason most guys have been lambasting Ferre is that he is not aggressive enough on social media. The moment he tries to redress that even if not in response to our whining he is copying Fally!!! Is he ever gonna do anything right?

Noticed that the ladies are taking the flak for sleeping with Fally!!! Who seduced who? I think I am gonna lay off Koffi for sleeping around and blame the ladies like Cindy and co.

My type of Rhumba. My first consideration is always the beat followed by the vocals. Here the beat works for me!!!
