Archos, my pick would be the vocalist who sang in Se Souvenir(Chevre de Monseiur Seguin Album). I love the voice and how he sang that song. One of my most fav rhumbas...and the chorus....amour, amour!!! What is his name BTW and where did he go?

What has Koffi done now??

558
it does mean,if i do not want to go too deep, that they have contracts together which mean they HAVE to heavily contribute to each other in return of some things ,its the same between some leaders and dancers, leaders and singers or instrumentists
in short, you rarely become an untouchable in a group just based on talent, unless its a group like cultura where guys gone into dark things are shown the door

;D ;D ;D Ooooh yeah I know THE CONTRACT between Koffi and Cindy. They need to keep it to themselves as it is us lovers of their music who keep on losing out.

559
yeah actually he took 9 members from karmapa's group then some returned
the case of cindy like many other members of other groups who people are a bit fed up with is purely spiritual, those guys have way too much importance in the system to be treated like the other guys

Le Grand Maitre archos, I have heard of this spiritual stuff on this forum like the attacks or Bercy being very strong spiritually and that is why he is able to move from Jetset to MM and back and claim the number one spot or the Zobozi affair but i still seem not to understand it fully. Back here in Kenya in the Christian setting spiritual is related to religiosity or holiness but seems in the Congolese music scene it is something kinda dark. Kindly explain this phenomenon to me if you can spare some time e.g when it is said for example Cindy is of spiritual importance to Koffi what does that mean EXACTLY?

That's aspirine who came from karmapa's group when koffi started having conflict with him and brought with him this generique

Thanks @archos, seems Koffi has moved from raiding Wazekwa to Karmapa because added to Aspirine there is Eric Quatre Sims and Maniango who are all ex Karmapa. Why does he take all these talented artists and never give them airtime with Cindy singing all the time. Aspirine seems to be a good animator though.

One of my favourite Ferre vocalists Matty de Gaule disappoints. Overall a good perfomance, choice of songs and video/audio quality. Enjoyed the parts by Guy Gola. Why was he not given his own microphone? And who is that in plaits who has taken Arnake's microphone? Happy to see Vibration in the line up, he is an in and out kinda member of this group. Always love the way he and Echappe sings, like the names they always weave into their lyrics.

Who is the atalaku in Bonanza? He does not sound like Tresor or Ordinateur or Maniango and I think those are the three top dogs in QL animation section

zobozi was an ex employee of quartier latin, been with koffi since early days of the popular quartier latin, then created the spokesman job in congolese music along with roger ngandu,he was the man who create that style of sankara and some other guys with a lot of comedy and attacking rivals hard, then he left koffi to follow ferre when ferre first tried to go solo then returned with ferre when ferre joined quartier latin, and left again around the days of that much hyped quartier latin anniversary with sam depitsho bouro champion
by the way just as an indication, koffi mentioned him and his two most famous understudies sankara and blaise element in force de frappe

Thanks @archos for the enlightenment.

At the risk of sounding very ignorant, who is Zobozi?

Good quality of video. The rest did not catch my imagination. I am still waiting!!!

I am a fan of Ferre but he needs to be creative... That extract sounds exactly the same as Seben and Kibombanda. If you asked an  untrained ear from which song the extract has been taken they would name any Ferre sebene post QEDT!!!! I will wait for the rhumbas which incidentally are what am more partial to as opposed to sebene.

Exactly that song benefited from the hype around the wait for his album, and some other will also certainly be the same
all in all,i think artists have to raise their game big time to release again rumbas which will be classics,in the last years we have mainly seen rumbas doing great three months, six max

True as the last Rhumba tunes that have become classics are Kamasutra, Ikea and Cadenas. Abracadabra, Soyons, Fleche, Boite Noire, Libre Parcours,Apotre all have no rhumba hitting over here. Any songs from these albums hitting over there Archos?

In other words,  the " keyboard scouts"  are suggesting that the top two artists in Zaire don't know a good lead...

You are forgetting that Agwambo of Zaire does not need the lead for its substance but for instability of the other side.
First you got Agwambo and the Jubilant nyama one mixed up i.e it's the lefty one who has the Mula to buy any one.  Arc is already in Agwambo's camp.

Omera I rest my case, let's meet at the Debe.

Whether CORDed or JAParty, we are all one united by rhumba gi sebene

Which one is Mayase and which one is Eric. Of course I know Lindalala on the right.  I recently inquired and was told the one playing the guitar is called Faborson so am confused. Is there an upcoming group album? If so, I wont hold my breath as you will likely have Cindy having 10 out of 15 songs then the male vocalists will share 20 second vocals each on the remaining 5.

Yamasee is the one playing guitar.

Erokamano Jakom
