@mvulusi96

That's fair criticism, Zaiko did the best they could to keep up with the times while maintaining their long celebrated sound.

The fact that they could never get ahead of the much young competition probably factored into the defections they experienced shortly thereafter.

Shame zero historic member outside the current group is around
Big shame indeed @archos. We would all have loved to see Le Grand Moise Quentin, Oxygene, Guy Guy Fall, Durell, Arafat, Abilissi, Herman etc.

Let's admit that one of the few advantages Roga has over the rest is that Champion d'Afrique Ramatoulaye and grand pretre Espe Bass chose to stick with him, as I usually regard Espe being on par with the likes of Gode Lofombo, Christian Mabanga, Didier Masela, Rocky Blanchard etc, and Rama being on the same level as Le Grand Cadre Titina and Champion Esthetique. My opinion though.

no its real,in the early days the buzz and polemique overshadowed album except bm which was released before, but i can guarantee you especially in kin half that album at least has become automatic on bars nightclubs and co playlists
its not a success like a storm obviously  like in early 2000"q but still  went pretty good in the long run its like some people discovered album months later and though wait a minute that album was actually good
so it maintained and even increased the demand he had for concerts

Fair enough.

I Still think Herritier does himself a lot of injustice by engaging in useless polemic with Werrason & Maison Mere. Fere & Fally caught all the important attention because their debut albums were quite good and fans only focused on that. From that point onward it was somewhat easier for them because they got an almost immediate acceptance & the fanbase was looking forward to their subsequent releases & concerts. There is a level of acceptance that once you gain is not easy to lose unless you completely slacken up like Tata Dominguez did.

Retirada could be good but in all honesty it lacked that big bang effect. It's more of a squandered opportunity. We didn't see any major concerts like Ferre's Bandal. All we remember with the retirada is the beef with Werrason.

When an album picks up 2 years after release, to me there's no difference to when I bumped into group Djolino's Impact or Manda Chante's Je suis in the sense that the window of opportunity is somewhat closed.

Watta should go ahead and release another album but this time give all his attention to promoting his music than beefing with others. Fabro's first release wasn't such a big hit but he still found a formula and his career has gained traction.

I would say his tactic did not work well. Attacking Werra and fally was in itself a promotional strategy for Retirada. Honestly what pissed many people is his sense of entitlement to success. I think he's also learned out of that big mouth he developed in the process. For sure Retirada should have gained more traction than what it got.

I was more in Clan Wengé, Nouvelle Ecriture and Quartier Latin. I started to find Zaiko’s music to old, not innovating and music of “ba tata mibimba” like my friends. Baza ko rond point kaka hahahaha.

I forgot to mention, I liked also Cele Mbonda’s song and the sebene of Monica Bussiness Women (because of papy cocaïne),  the rest of Poison was for me muehh.

Aboutaleb Heritier having big crowded concerts his because of the economie situation of DR Congo on this moment and people are more focused on politics since 2016. Congolese bandleiders have difficulties to perform in front of big crowds in Kinshasa since 2013-14, while those beer-concerts of Skol & Primus are for free.

Nobody excepted something of Fabregas. People didn’t take him serious when he started his solo career until he signed with Koffi-Central. Heritier’s situation is different, people excepted much from him and there was alot pressure on his shoulders, don’t forget that people talk abouts Heritier’s album since 2007-08 with Heritier also talking to much. His concert at Romeo Golf, made people also except from his Atalaku-departement (Kunzardo & Brandon Avatar). With them being dissapointed with the generique and saying that Heritier doesn’t have a mabanga-voice.

Yeah, I wanted to same thing. Things went wrong because of those sextapes with Julie Kitima and another girl (i dordet her name, she half lebanese) “Gogane je suis mort” and many other scandals, also those polemics against Werrason & Fally (in the underground) and the live ADT Yanki Mpuy madeclaiming that Heritier is gay (naming Daddy Kimberly and that he have pictures). This all overshadowed the album in the first year. People critized for more not focusing on the promotion of his album and only putting energy in attacking Fally & Werrason and those making buzz. In 2016 and the first half of 2017 everybody was mocking Heritier for “je met mon main a coupé, soki retirada esimbi te, bokata nga loboko” and Sankara then recording a video with Juvenal who went viral.

I understand all that about Roga Roga's influence. But it's rather obvious that he's not interested and will not do it. Someone else should take the initiative especially for the case of Herman
