My favorite song is Dr F. Okemba.

Koffi Olomide was also doing the same thing on every bandalbum except Ultimatum. On Force deFrappe he didn’t even write Quartier Latin letting look it like a solo album.

Yeah his contract was already finished with Force de Frappe, but he kept extending the contract with one album. The  succes of Loi, Olympia, Zenith, Brixton Academy, Licoln Center & Bercy made American and Britsh musiclabels following him.

I remember how Koffi struggled to get a musiclabel to record Monde Arabe and him returning with nothing to Kinshasa. Which made him do the prodcution  by himself and Somina.

I’ve heard that Koffi was regularly getting calls from big American and British music labels in the late 90’s -early 2000’s, but because of his close friendship with ex-SonoDisc president Henri de Bodinat he remained loyal for the 13 years or so.

In hindsight it might’ve been better to accept the offers the way Sono/Next went bankrupt quick and him having some difficulties after

I was talking about the 2009 what made Koffi sued Wemba suddenly ? because they were not on speaking terms before his death. Koffi planned to diss him in 13ème Apôtre. There is a video on YouTube where they sing together in that video we can see Wemba wasn't happy at all.

What Wemba said in the first interview is 100% true. But the problem was then that Koffi started to get alot of calls from music-labels. Don't forget that Koffi Olomide & Papa Wemba were fired in 2003 from their musiclabel Next Music for those activites, but Tabu Ley who is one of the co-founders of Sono/Sonodisc-Editions Esperance/Next Music made them return, but shortly after that Next Music became bankrupt which led to them looking for other musiclabels. To prove people in the musicindustry in France and Africa and not get a bad reputation, Koffi decided to sue Wemba. In the interview with 33 Tshitenge he exaggerated a little how the situation was. Shortly after that they reconciled with Wemba again, but their relation wasn't the same anymore and after that more things happened behind the scenes, which made Wemba say that he would never forgive Koffi.

Oh so Papa Wemba and Adolphe Dominguez were guests. What ressurfaces the beef between Koffi and Papa Wemba because Koffi tried to send him in jail right ? I don't know when it was.

It was Wemba’s own fault that he was arrested, because he started to be “lokoso” with that Ngulu-business with the French police starting an investigation from 2001 after that he brought more than 200 peoples to Europe. During his personal trips he was also bringing people claiming that they were musicians of his worldmusic-band Molokai.

Koffi & Wemba already reconcilated in 2001 and they had to perform at Zenith in 2003. Koffi was the only artist who sent him a letter when he was in jail, this while alot who  claimed that he was their idol forgot him even his journalists. But when he came out jail his staff started to say bad stuff about Koffi which made him ask questions. Nevertheless they were very close and became more closer when they formed Maisha Parc, visiting each other alot in Paris & Kinshasa and talking about the moments of the 80’s & 90’s giving each other shout-outs in albums. But things went wrong in 2009 when Koffi sued Wemba and Wemba being almost sended to jail.

It’s an extrait of Koffi concert af Grand Hotel when he performed to present his solo album Monde Arabe with him inviting Emeneya, Papa Wemba, JB Mpiana, Bozi Boziana, Adolphe Dominguez and Marie Paul.
