I've always said I don't give a damn about views and streams but this is embarrassing. How on earth is Tanzania that much ahead of us? That's a whole landslide defeat. Our artists need to wake up and see that this is not good, okay so it's 3 artists so I assume it's Fally, Innoss'b and Koffi, but the sad thing is the most views they get aren't even their rumba or generiques, it's their urban music that get more views, if they weren't doing that then we would fall down the pecking order even more. Then you have guys like Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania jumping on the wave and getting features from our stars that's also getting him crazy views on his own channel.
Our artists need to do better and realise that them not being active enough and also focusing on too much Rumba is killing the product and is doing us BAD service.
The worst thing is from guys like Koffi and Werra their most popular songs like Loi, Alerte Generale, Operation Dragon, Effrakata, have high views but not on their original channels.

the most shocking  congolese put aside togo in front of cameroun mali guinea gabon who all have much more continental stars, with toofan of my guy masta just, one group carrying this much their country(which is true is barely bigger than tshangu),no wonder the other one barabas became such an arrogant guy
but yeah i agree 10000000 per cent that the focus on rumba is doing bad service,or at least there should be for 8 sebene songs per album, so people will still enjoying hearing people sing  in lingala then dance too  i prefer this option a million times more than that urban music thing

Notice how Yo Pe’s remix is currently on 141 million views, yet it was posted on Diamond’s channel, i get that it was for more visibility but on the other side, Diamond knew what he was doing when he got the video on his channel instead of Innoss’s

I’m going to be honest idk if you lot listen to Tanzanian music but the whole scene there is booming go and see Harmonize, Rayvanny and zuchu etc it is not just Diamond. This is the state of their music scene compared to ours there are people that you don’t even know getting millions of views but our most famous ones struggle to get high views. Yes views are not everything but they’re definitely something

i think its also a matter of habits and ability to use internet(locally in DRC)
people have habit that one downloads there share to loads of people, thats less potential views, then you have fans who have to watch video on 20 accounts to boost views to make up for fans who are lazy compared to them,or those who are have watched once then downloaded and kept on their phone...

Let's not forget, some of these countries still struggle with internet and or even life. so youtube is for those who are comfortable financially with a belly full of food. Only folks in major cities have access to these things. But in Congo, everybody got a cellphone so what gives? :-)

if stats that i saw one or two years ago are true, among those having cellphones in DRC something like 32 per cent only have phones compatible with internet youtube and all that, and imagine we are talking about a country nearing the 100 million of peole and that there is still a good part of population which cant afford even a random cellphone in a whole family

Facts, only facts bro. If all the population or at least 70-80% could have access to Internet with smartphones or laptop it would boost a lot of rumba and generique song of all generation since Franco. I think a country like Tanzania have moreeee and moreee access to Internet that DRC and even Congo Brazza and our problem is here

I don't agree. This is an exploit for us. Tanzania and Nigeria are economically ahead of us, which means they have a way bigger number of domestic internet users.

Congo is number 3 despite a non existent internal market and very low rate of internet penetration.

If Congo had the same degree of internet as Tanzania or Nigeria, we would've been way higher.

People need to remember our country is very poor compared to other african countries. Our music is basically surviving with little means. So I think we can be happy with that position.

Statistics put Internet penetration in DRC at 9% meaning 1 out 10 people in DRC has access to the Internet. Africa as whole the average Internet penetration is at 39 % thats 4 out of every 10 people with access to Internet. Thats why streaming in Africa should go side by side with physical CDs otherwise our artists are losing revenues when they concentrate on streaming for a continental with low access to Internet.

damn this isn’t helping... spotify, one of the biggest streaming services, expands in almost the whole of Central Africa, besides DRC. that means that people still need to use VPN to stream songs. unbelievable. everyone just go on Tidal, it pays the artists the most. hopefully it’ll be available everywhere soon.
