Mea Culpa from 1982.

Very heartfelt message from JB.

;D ;D An example of a modern BCBG concert with an estimated 50-60 people on the stage. I wonder if anybody in his admin has told him it's just too busy from the spectator's perspective?

he knows it very very well and likes it like that, been telling him for 4  years or so and he always keeps telling me with the huge squad he has allowing almost everybody on stage on dance parts is the only way he can kinda make most of his group members feel "important" since in reality and himself feels comfortable like that,he says bcbg is like an army and when they go to"war"(a concert) they go together as one

i hope papa's death will teach jb a lesson and he will do whats best for him as a person first and foremost, has been performing through strong pain for the last 18 months or so,refuses to take the break doctors want him to as he finds it too long, even had a little stroke at a rehearsal but it never made big news as bcbg rehearsals are kept very secret

Frankly writing , Papa Cherry, Sultan, Bin Adam, performance with his group during the Matanga ya Papa Nkuru wa Nkuru was magnificent. He has reminded us of those old glory days, he has seized the rare opportunity effectively. The choice of songs, non stop moderate sebene, stage-crowded? modernity? -was fantastic given the kind of event they were honoring,  other questions have no room today while we are mourning the demise of Nkuru.

Everyone  on that stage has a specific job..Throw a name I give you his job.

There's no denying that everyone is on stage for a reason, sometimes less is more, especially when letting new additions to the band shine.

Come to think of it, I believe JB was influenced by Wemba in the Nouvelle Ecriture/Fioti-Fioti days (1999-2003); Wemba also had 50-60 on stage during the generique/sebene for his Kin concerts and 30-40 at his big Europe concerts. He used the same soldier rhetoric.

Indeed, when looking at it deeper bcbg has a lot of similarities with viva, several generations under the same boss except that jb did not want anymore those cours des grands, pipiyu, 3eme bataillon and so on and made it the one and only bcbg
their man management was also similar, you could see papa eating likayabu at home with a guy like bob djamusket,or jb spending three days at ben laden's home back in 2011 when he lost  a just born baby to a strong disease just to make sure  he finds strength to keep living his life...when in many groups its only the main men who have easy contact with the boss
also the fact of allowing solo albums, reddy, stino, gloria and many others until recently apocalypse and on bcbg side boguys who released before he left, abraham of course, ficarre, kibens, mosaka, zulema who all have been given permission to  do solo albums
