Congolese Music / I DID NOT KNOW THAT CHARLY SOLO WAS IN MAISON MERE
« Last post by archos on April 30, 2024, 13:46 »he arrived in kinshasa in 2003 from the kongo central region, and he was taken to werra's house in 2007 and he passed his test in front of werra then he got sent to kakol's house to be prepared to anticipate the potential departures of flamme and mogratana and was part of that group of fabregas deplick and co leaving with kakol and even did the pre-record of kakol's classic fidelité d'amour before the first team guys played it in studio and then a place was up for grabs in ferre's group as christian ran away in europe, and due to the urgent need of a soloist he did not even pass a traditional test and covered straight away from their first concert back home
he talked about hardship in our music saying that he will not let one of his children do music in congo because there is a lot of stupid things happening in and around that music and gives example of how when he joined the group most of the group did not like him because they were still upset about the one who left and chikito who was then not even major yet was sending him to buy stuff or things like that then in the long run they got us to him
he said he grew up in a wealthy family and he did music only out of passion which is why he knew that once he had handled the hardships he could build his life and his career
he said that his role models are maitre ficarre, alain makaba, roga roga, rigo star and franco and played some of their work, then about flamme he said flamme was not his model but undeniably the icon of the post-makaba generation
shame he did not get asked about guy though,he was in the best position to talk about his death as guy lived in the same building 2 stairs up i think or something
he started music as a rnb dancer, then became a drummer in rumba/sebene and then moved to guitar by pure coincidence as the street group he was in split and there was no guitarist to be on the other side
