PRIVATE LIFE AND PERSONALITY

Bataringé Hervé Gola was born on 3rd of march 1976 in kinshasa,and is the 2nd child in a family of 4 men(Thierry,him,Guy and Orly the youngest of them)
he grew in kinshasa but in most holidays went back to his region of Bas-Congo(with cities like Matadi,Boma,Muanda) where through his mother Mama Marie Makiese he will know two future artists Jean Pierre Butukondolo aka Jipson and Jean Bedel Mpiana as all three respective mothers are members of the same association.
In his private life,Hervé is a rather calm and laid back guy but also sometimes quite open,he has the reputation of getting angry very fast and very often though and also has carried throughout his career an image of a guy very stint on money
his other big passion apart music is football,which he played at school as a winger
he did not reach a high level as a student,despite Mama Marie wanting him to become a doctor or a lawyer,as he kept skipping class because of his passion for music.
He was married from 2002 to 2013 to Sabrina,an Algerian woman, and is father of 12 "official" kids but 17 in reality(he mentions some of them like Mathias,Caprice,Melina,Talliane...)
like himself admitted on tv,he loves children and would not mind having much more of them than he already has.

ROLE MODELS AND DEBUT AS A SINGER

In his childhood,he had several role models, Pepe Kalle and his Empire Bakuba,King Kester and his Victoria Eleison, Franco and Ok Jazz,Carlyto Lassa...and more recently the likes of Babia Chokoro,JB mpiana and Papa Wemba and he did not hesitate walking for several kilometers just to have a sight of them in live concerts and even though he was punished at home because of that he keptdoing it.

His first contact with music as a singer is in a street group with the likes of Rio kazadi,his brother Alba,Pascal Mavita(guitarist in Wazekwa's band Cultura Pays Vie) who were his close neighbours.  He started following his mother to church and then learned to sing with proper instruments but its clear for his mother that singing is not his future job but just something he can do in his spare time.

Apart from singing at church,he continued playing music on the streets and replaced Tutu Caludji in the group Staff London, Tutu went to the band Promise Musica and later Wenge Musica.
Ferre became lead singer of Staff London alongside the likes of Gentamicine Lisimo,Biva Ray,Fiston Zamuangana Savimpi and some other guys less known musicians.

When he moved from the area of Kasavubu to Bandal,he joined the group Rumba des Jeunes with Fiston Savimpi. It was at Rumba des Jeunes that he edged closer to professional music as they performed as curtain raisers for bigger groups like Defao's Big stars or Wenge Musica.

In 1995,before a wenge musica concert,they performed in a little face-to-face show with New City de La Bogania the group of his future rival Fally Ipupa and the likes of Chikito of Les PPU,Djino Equalizer etc. It was after that concert that Savimpi who was spotted by Didier Masela then introduced him to Werrason joined Wenge Musica. Hervé himself joined Wenge Musica two weeks later the same day as mbonda player and drummer Seguin Mignon at a holiday fair under the guidance of Werrason and JB mpiana despite rumours later on that  they did not like each other.
At that time he was still a raw talent,rather shy,still learning how to maintain his voice in shape for a whole concert, and also from his own confession a bad dancer.
His most popular appearance in a Wenge Musica was at the offical Pentagone album presentation concert at studio Mama Angebi where he performed as an atalaku,replacing Tutu Caludji who was on suspension.

One year later when conflicts appeared in Wenge Musica,Hervé who had by now been ''baptised'' as Ferré in reference to the fashion brand Gianfranco Ferré performed with the Wenge Musica camp known as "Ba Japonais" comprised of Werrason,Adolphe and Didier Masela but never in the other Wenge Musica camp called "Bana Mindele" comprised of JB Mpiana, Alain Makaba,Blaise Bula,Alain Mpela etc whereas the rest of other musicians were performing with both groups.

When the Wenge Musica split finally happened,he first tried to join the camp Wenge Bcbg led by JB Mpiana but he was rejected by Blaise Bula and Aimelia who were directing rehearsals in absence of leader JB, he then went to Werrason and Adolphe and was accepted in the group which came to be known as  Wenge Musica Maison Mere and that was his turning point.

...........next steps the rise of Ferré in Maison Mere , Les Marquis, Quartier Latin and finally his solo career.

I don't think he's even been married before, they are all ''sidekicks.'' 

Thank you archos, one thing a keep getting from all these biographies done so far is that all these musicians did not just start yesterday, Its a serious process that starts at a tender age.

Seems for one to make a mark in Congolese music scene u gotta work your way up the hard way a part from talent ,  patience is a key ingredient for success. For the umpteenth time kudos Archos for the info.
