Congolese Music / Re: All-time great soukous albums

For me Fiesta D'or Album by Aurlus Mabele is an alltime favourite. Simply no boring moments on it:

(sorry but I found no proper playlist on Youtube)

Actually I bought multiple copies of it so that I can still have it if I loose one of the CDs :D

PS: look guys how the forum can display Spotify links! Even I am surprised! Haha :D

This was an excellent album, but with time I started to favor Dossier X since it was a more original release. Fiesta d’or was more of a remix album of some of his older songs with a strong ndombolo emphasis for that time

The term soukous is used so loosely that some albums that are not are classified as one. My favorite “OG” Soukous album is probably Gozando from Soukous Stars. It has so much variety and it was a multi continental success

Indeed I did not pay attention to that "Soukous" was asked. In that case would Forever by Franco be a legit choice? It has a more up to date style considering the year than his previous albums. Maybe due to the guitar parts of Lokassa. I wouldn't call that album similar to older Franco albums.

Congolese Music / What's up with Lesasa Jocker?
« on: September 18, 2026, 01:16 »
Lesasa disappeared from my Facebook newsfeed recently, I wondered what's up with the leader of one of the leading non-Congolese Congolese bands? :D

Have just stumbled upon this live performance of them from last year. It really surprised me. You can hear some really great tunes in it. This one reminds me to vocals from old songs by Bansomi Lay Lay:

Congolese Music / Re: RIP KERSON SADDAM

yeah indeed thats him,the only one to have been part of all the major extra musica offshots

I thought before Saddam is the one to the right. I understand now which member he was. I never knew who he is in the videos before. He had a great voice. Is there any Nouvel Horizon songs that he actually countributed to recently since he joined? I regret the band lost him. He was a good singer.

here as the first singer,in a song for wedding of son of a big donor
surely he was also involved in recordings of their future EP

Thanks!

The one on the right is  Rossen Yaourt. He also joined Nouvel Horizon recently.

So that's why my identification of them got messed up. Thanks for the clarification.

By the way, here is a song where Saddam sang very welll:

I will check wither it is possible to delete your things. So you want your account also deleted, or only the posts you made?

However, I regret you want to delete your stuff. It can be a valuable reference for the people in the future, maybe they won't be able to geather information from anywhere else than your posts. I would think it twice whether to have the posts deleted or not. But if you want that I can definately look into how it could be done.
