who then went to ferre?

It's the soloist Hadji Solo,he's the one who played on Ferre's second generique Kibombanda.

I don't get who will threaten and who is getting threatened?

Hopefully you've heard of the so called combattants, they are mainly Congolese mationals based in Europe,South African,Canada etc and are against top Congolese musicians performing in those countries like Paris,Brussels, etc because they think the musicians are helping President kabila to stay in power because they accept his money and do campaign songs for him.
The combattants have been physically attacking musicians who travel to Europe and most concerts have ended up being cancelled.

Yeah,Fally is not creative where improvisation is concerned but he's caught the melody right and am sure he's got find the right words to fill the gaps he's leaving, am beginning to appreciate his vocals a lot more these days.

why are people writing in other languages a lot more on this site? it makes it hard to participate in conversations.

But why have you been watching by the fence without joining in anyway?
We started using lingala coz it looks like there's only a few of us posting so we keep each other posted, when we see that others are participating in conversions we will make an effort to spread the musical news to everyone since now we know there other people watching however I still strongly urge you and everyone participate in discussions that way you encourage us to even post many things.

Like archos has stated,he only writes in lingala when he's asked something in lingala especially by me or the other guys like jdog. Sometimes we just comment or quote lingala words as said by musicians, some can be hard to interprate because they are bad so words so we just have a laugh amongst ourselves.

In life, do not praise your self but the poeple. Ferre Gola is good but this thing of him taking up a self made-up promotion that he is the heir of Old Rhumba giants, is wrong.

Ferre has annoyed me for one thing, lack of instruments in his music which makes his voice go like a blank bullet....
Well, for a singer like him he should be confident to praise himself that he's an excellent singer and true heir to Tabu Ley who too was known for his excellent vocals which were hair raising just like Ferre's. Yes Tabu Ley did a bit more of sebenes during his time but who else is doing more sebenes than Ferre today amongst his generation? Fally?

What do you mean lack of instruments in Ferre's music? Is it because he prefers acoustic arrangement that you feel he's not using many intruments?

Mbuta Likasu is very much around except he's now settled in South Africa and has been doing some low profile shows there with his band Staff International.
He's currently shooting videos in Congo Brazza for his upcoming album Carnaval which he initially announced would be released in September 2013, I think he hasn't yet released it,here is the album cover.

Yeah and he was really skinny back in the days. I just can't believe when I see these guys now when I look at old videos even Ferre himself he's got swag now.

I like his spirit...

Yeah,he's gaining popularity, there are many people now who have turned against the combattants for not supporting the cause,it's purely a humanitarian effort and a call for reconciliation so JB should be encouraged and applauded for the effort by everyone including the so called combattants who are mainly people seeking refuge in foreign nations and disguise themselves as being anti-kabila so they speak out in public etc to make their cases stronger when they apply for papers at immigration, that's what I think of most of them, most intelligent and settled people in Paris,Belgium see beyond kabila vs Tshisekedi.

haha spot on,there was a plan of three concerts for next year one at grand hotel, one at stade des martyrs and one in lubumbashi but those two said no way they will be paid the same as others
they want the concert to be focused around them and their fake rivalry and the rest of the guys actings like their employees
they are not realising they are entering a stage of their life where they will have less and less energy the more time goes on;they should not wait to have hair fully grey and not being able to dance like in the past

Oh yeah. I think it'sjust fair that JB and Werra are paid more unless a charity concert for instance like the one JB wants to do at zenith which is a humanitarian one where the focus is on raising awareness of the plight of those suffering in Kivu,Goma etc and raising funds for their relief.

Thanks djsly, now I have a know-how why these guys leave these promising groups. But any idea to what happened to clizo? He was not featured in Boite noire album

Probably the same thing happened to Klizo Schweppes,he must have been sidelined especially that he had briefly left Ferre's band and gone to audition at Werrason's Wenge Maison Mere where he wasn't recruited, he later went back to Ferre and appeared at some concerts and rehearsals but these days he's nowhere to be seen, someone else probably took his place, Ferre has no passengers in his band, everyone singer has to prove his worth and you find that there's 3 people fighting for one position so the most loyal will always get more opportunities to feature on albums, the rest will just keep rehearsing and accompany the band at local concerts.

6462
....and JB says he'll play at Zenith even if it's front of 2 people only!!

It's coming down to one thing again, greed and love for money, yes, that's what these guys are saying and they've always said it, JB Mpiana and Werrason love money too much..................but wait a minute, maybe that's why they are rich, they don't want producers to get rich, they want to get rich first and that's why they are both filthy rich now compared to the other clan wenge musicians.

Djsly, why are these guys leaving ferrets band, first it was Arnake, now one of his atakalakus is with Werra

Don't know exactly why since non of the guys have come out in the open be it I interviews,it could be that Ferre was sidelining them in preference to those he thinks are better. Ferre's band is too large much that with the sort of arrangement he does for his music,it's difficult to feature all his musicians so it is also very likely that some musicians think they are being under-utilised so they prefer to go where they feel they'll be used more often and also be able to travel with the band on tour as that's number one for most younger musicians who join these bands.
