you can really feel anger, not a simple regret or a little upset  on her face as he bemoans the fact ZERO musician was there to see babia's body arrive in kinshasa whereas plenty of those who will certainly come to funerals later are in kinshasa
she agrees with what shaka kongo said earlier in the video that since there is no money to share musicians did not bother to come  but if governement had said they had allocated  x sum, none would be missing

I did not watch the video but I am going to say this. There is something people should know about Congolese Musicians. Most of them are hypocrites and full of hate. Most of what they say in their interviews is NOT THE TRUTH. Some cannot say one good thing about a colleague but when that colleague passes away, he/she becomes the most likable person; an angel. If you often give money to a Congolese Musician, he will treat you like a god. If it happens that you don’t have money like you used to, you won’t believe how the guy will FORGET YOU. Just have a look at their musicians, singers and family members...just a few have a normal life. Some say they are rich, but look at their Kids living overseas, you won’t believe the kind of lives they’re living (no education, thieves and criminals).

If we didn’t have stupid and selfish Criminal Men in power in Congo, some intelligent Young man would never have become Musicians. Poverty and hunger made them what they are.

What Shaka Congo has always said about those Musicians is true, that’s why they hate him.

you know, for some reason i was 50000 per cent convinced next comment after sly would be you lol
its sad, themselves and people around them have put their humanity far away from them at expense of " star attitude"
soni na mawa
all what matters for them is how  they will arrive at funerals and focus will be on them with those traditional groups playing at funerals chanting their  name when they head towards the coffin and the sudden  "good memories"

This is very sad. They are the first to complain about every thing. None of them dare to talk about people who wake up every day and get 50 dollars as a salary a month. Some times they have TO BEG get that 50 dollars.

They did a couple of tribute concerts for him in Europe and how does she think his body got to Kinshasa??? Hein Mokonzi est-que o yebi mutu a futa pona ebembe ya Babia e ya na Kin eza Koffi?? I don't get the part about money, why would musicians complain about money at a funereal/memorial?? I like Carine Mokonzi but this didn't make sense to me....they gave their condolences on TV and the internet.....she's acting like the missed the memorial or funeral, I'm sorry but  it's just the body arriving but if it was the funeral they missed then Ill see her point but just missing a body arriving nah she got it wrong. And Celeo didn't come because he said that he wasn't really friends with Babia (Celeo didn't hate him him but he just wasn't friends with) so he's not going to act like he was friends with him or even knew him like that, that's the same reason why he didn't go to King Kesters memorial or funeral.

the part about money in funerals is that many artists rush to funerals when they hear governement or kimbuta has allocate a certain amount of money
she did acknowledge both the fact guys in europe did something and the fact koffi paid for his funerals, but she said something true
musicians are the only category of public people who very very very often miss even the body arrival
in all other corporations of public people there are people who do not miss any second of funeral and without any interest
and this is what makes their attitude at funerals looking fake because they only come to reunions about money allocated to organization so they can ask for money to authorities, some even actually sign contracts to perform at funerals then they come like heroes as usual with crowds ecstatic about their presence
i think that's what carine is angry about, would have been nice to see at very very very least one musician
those are the things which are tarnishing musicians' reputation
koffi contributed nothing in his arrival to drc and angola people said it themselves that they did it on their own by contributing each a part of the money required, what he did was paying  a part for the place where his body will be exposed the day of funerals
i think she just threw names randomly to say that there was zero musicians, from the group  leaders to their 5th team reserve singers, zero

Jdog, in Africa we mourn with the bereaved, it doesn't matter whether we know who died or not or whether we were friends or not so Celeo Scram showed his stupidity. Carine has been honest too, Koffi should have been the one leading mourners and fellow musicians in receiving the body of Babia though he's not legally obliged, it's just a something we do in Africa and a moral obligation so to say so it's shameful that Koffi simply provided money and probably just to gain some mileage as when Babia was suffering, it is the same Koffi who barred Babia from performing Quartier Latin songs so even the money he donated to bring the body is just an insult no wonder some family members didn't want the money,am sure Shakakongo jumped on the bandwagon to collect the body because that's what he specialises in, anything to do with death of a musician he appoints himself spokesman. This is the same Shakakongo who only last week was praising JB Mpiana and his team for helping to release Kissy Ndjora and etc live on camera, Seguin called him mid interview, the video is on youtube but today he insults them, if you watch this video carefully he even wanted to say some nonsense but it seems someone from the crowd curtailed him from saying anything else and that's when Carine started talking to the other lady who sang a bit.

To conclude, i am totally agree with Carine, all musicians should be ashamed of themselves, had it been a major musician who died they would all have gone to receive the body but because it was only poor Babia they were not bothered!!

yeah also they even bring their competition to funerals as some  make spectacular arrivals and actually call to know if x or y is already there and if the crowd is very big enough so they can catch attention when they arrive(happened recently at kester and rochereau funerals for example)
normaly a funeral is a moment you are as modest and as sincere and simple as possible

People die, life has to go on. The habit of crippling all economic & social functioning by downing tools for weeks while mourning a dead person is rubbish. Why should musicians be expected to troop down to a morgue to wait for a dead body? They will go to the funeral & thats enough.

Yes I agree with 100% they don't need to go the morgue just to touch the casket, the medics were even trying to get the casket inside of the morgue as quick as possible. They can touch the casket and mourn at the memorial and the funeral.

guys i do understand your point that the most important is the mourning and burial in  itself but i just find that strange that its the only big community of people where such things happen too often, and if you look at comments on those type of videos out of 10 you have 9 going that way
not that the whole corporation has to be there, but i doubt a bank officer,or a policeman or whatever other job, would sent to morgue with zero colleague around, just as a simple symbol of humanity
