For me the two biggest losses we had solo career wise after Jb and Werra and before Fally and Ferre is Sam Tshintu and Afande. Those two were the most complete musicians and had promising careers but it just wasn't meant to be.
Alain Mpela and JB Mpiana are cool since 2007. After Mortel Combat, Alain Mpela was preparing an album called Feuille de Route that he planned for 2007. But having failed already twice made it difficult for him be taken seriously. People focussing more on Ferre Gola and Fally Ipupa who just started to have succes with their first albums. Alain Mpela planned to record the album with his band, but for whatever reason he wasn't returning to Kinshasa. Bandmembers already leaving one by one. Christian Solo and Miel de Son joining Wenge Maison Mere and even his cousin Ronsard Kanza leaving (joining Fally Ipupa). Not long after it there were rumors about a return in Wenge BCBG, but he didn't happen. It started to be quit around Alain Mpela until that he decided to move to US for a moment in 2009 for some playback shows in the US with his brother Bouro Mpela. In that period once again a return of Alain Mpela in Wenge BCBG was rumored, but it didn't happen. After that Alain Mpela changed the album title he was working on into Fleche Empoisnée and signed with Mpova Music. However people weren't taking him serious anymore, his small playbacks shows in Europe not being succes, guys that started their solo-career later like Fally Ipupa had already done Zenith & Olympia, Ferre Gola also having done Zenith and brought his band twice to Europe, artists like Kabose, Didier Lacoste and Mirage having some succes, etc. Alain Mpela saw that things weren't going well with music and decided to stop with music and focus on politics. He tried to run as a deputy in 2011. Unfortunately for him he lost and you know how Congolese people are when you fail.
Is there a 6eme generation of musicians? Could Inoss'B claim that being as young and popular as he currently is?
