Congolese Music / Re: THE BRAND OF FALLY
« on: April 30, 2021, 19:31 »

I wanted to make this column/index book about what the various Congolese artists have brought into our music and I wanted to title what have they brought but I think the Brand of is a way better title with that said I will cover artists that I have followed closely or that I have known about in my lifetime so unfortunately no Franco, Tabu Let etc. but they are legends anyway, so I will start with
Fally
Ferré
Werra
Koffi
JB Mpiana
Wazekwa
Fabregas
Deplick
Héritier etc.
I will try to limit myself with successful leaders and if the index book get success I will focus even on the one with less success.

Good, now let's move on to the first story of this topic
Fally a nickname of Faustin Ipupa N'simba was born in December 14th 1977 and more then focusing on his life and the many rumours surrounding him (the most famous one being the one about him killing both his parents for fame) I want to focus on his brand and what he have brought into Congolese music in a Ndombolo scene dominated by the recent Success of A La Queue Leu Leu and the buzz surrounding the release of Témoignage to see if Werra could counter back Bill, Ferré, JDT and the many other artists who have left Wenge to form Les Marquis De Maison Mère by replacing them with artists who could have matched that level of stardom and by Koffi whom after releasing Effrakata, Affaire d'État and Monde Arabe couldn't expect that Fally his own pire petit could do something like preparing his solo album under his eyes. In this time dominated by Ndombolo and fast paced songs Fally came and shocked everybody by not only leaving Quartier Latin but also announcing his new and first album Droit Chemin with many collaborations from ex Quartier Latin members like Champion Djikapela, Apocalypse, and Modogo Abarambwa.
It was a risk and going solo not to form a group like Les Marquis did but going solo like Fally did was unheard of at the time and complice the fact that Koffi took Ferré to try to counter Werra and to have the best singers of Congo at the time in his group Fally decided to leave and release this album.

The success was weirdly immediate everybody were dancing songs like Prince Dr Southfork, Associé and especially Liputa which is now considered a classic among Rhumba lovers, for the first time since the Ndombolo fast paced era an album was more successful for the Rhumbas more then the Générique, but for Fally I think his brand was not that but the fact that he brought professionalism into the Congolese industry, it wasn't the classical Congolese artist who had a friend as an administrative and a weak marketing behind the disc no, Fally calculated every move and I think his brand was the one to be professional and never leave anything to the case he signed to Monsoh which at the time was one of the best producer in Africa and managed to make a successful album not only for Congo or Africa but even in Europe diasporaand many albums later now even managed to work with very famous french artists like Maître Gina, Aya Nakamura, Naza & KeBlack showing every artist in Congo that being professional is the way to go.
This was the first episode of The Brand Of tell me what you guys think in the comments about this series.

Only one mistake Fally was born on December 14th February 1977

Congolese Music / Re: NOW WE WILL SEE WHAT PEOPLE WILL SAY
« on: March 15, 2021, 01:24 »

a lot of people for the sake of polemic rejoiced  at the fact  ivorian group VDA produced by schama production the label of ivorian footballer serey die and his ex josey performed at same time as the second failed concert of ferre, and ended up getting even part of ferre's crowd who came and ever since then have been throwing shots at ferre and they shared massively video of youtuber apoutchou who was fully playing the nationalist card  of defending ivorian artists against foreign artists because they barely performed of late since the crisis while foreign artists performed ,which they could not understand,as they prefered seeing it as he confirmed ferre's failure
now that they took their clash to another level and released a diss track against rumba

all of sudden analysis from who we know against that ,now lets see what other people will say

People to say what, why you always see bad things.

Lol he knows Tokooss 2 became quickly forgotten about so he’s tryna save face.
Ahh Dicap just give us a Rumba/ Sebene album and get Alvarito Solo back, I’m actually over this World Music phase.

Tokoss 2 flopped really? where are you people been living in past few weeks, I was in Kinshasa the week before last there are not Album who is on top than Tokoss and people know all the songs. We all have see when Fally was In Benin, Cote D'Ivoire and Cameroon how people were singing and asking songs from Tokoss 2.

So flop about what?

Congolese Music / Re: NEW SONG BY ABELE FEAT KOFFI OLOMIDE
« on: March 15, 2021, 00:49 »
Lets give the old man his credit, he is killing it on these feats, he has the voice...... Seriously if it were this lady alone, I wasn't going to listen to the song twice. He should do more of these to grow fanbase for his latest album. Koffi is the best artist to come out of Congo.

Franco Luambo, Tabu Ley, Pepe Kalle, Emeneya, Abeti Masikini?

Congolese Music / Re: BILL CLINTON VISITED FERRE AT CONCERT
« on: March 15, 2021, 00:44 »

If i am not mistaken since their marquis split 16 years ago they had never been on stage together

Good, this what we want to see.

44
I said this before, I just don’t understand for someone who came from Wenge but doesn’t seem to understand when it comes to concerts people want to be entertained. choreography and performance is more important....ain’t nobody wants to sit there for 2hr just to hear you sing, thats boring as F. Give us a show. Kunzardo didn’t travel probably because he just returned in the group, it wouldn’t be fair to those who been there while he has been away....Ferre needs to understand that Blaise is not a showman or an entertainer like Bill, Bercy or Brigade. He needs to take another atalaku who brings that energy to the stage like he had in the days of Boite noir with Kunza and Bercy. He needs to use Dupidi more cos he has that energy and spirit. As a Ferre fan I personally would rather attend the other F than Ferre’s concert...more entertainment.

This really unnecessary thing to say, why you feel the need to denigrate one for other.

Hard to list only five songs :

1. Papa Wemba - Maman
2. Koffi Olomide - Fouta Djallon
3. Simaro Lutumba - Eau bénite
4. Fally Ipupa - Liputa
5. Ferre Gola - Maboko Pamba
6. Franco - la vie des hommes
7. Simaro Lutumba - Maya

That song, my God.
