I believe his doctors advised him to take a musical break follow his illness which necessitated a hospital stay, but his love for music was just too strong; he always wanted to be active.

Unfortunately the collapse video will be everywhere by the end of the day.

Those uploaders will also have the audacity to put RIP in the description.  ::)

One thing that's for certain, he went out doing what he loved most.

Yet another lesson learned the hard way for African event organizers. In Abidjan almost unsurprisingly. Concerts must always have medics and paramedics on standby. All we see a few ill equipped Red Cross staff. What a shame, they couldn't take the crucial steps to possibly revive him then and there.

there are even images of him at mortuary spread, internet has spoilt many of us
what is even more sad with papa's death is that one month after funerals, the good things people will supposedly have learned from this death will evaporate and it will be same old again until unfortunately the next case
the rest of festival has been cancelled straight away by the group magic system, the organizers of festival

A pretty touching reaction from Koffi:

To paraphrase - Koffi recieved a call from Hamed Bakayako who was in front of Wemba's corpse in the moratorium. He states life at the end of the day is nothing; we are nothing. We should steering clear of what we think is of value but really aren't- cars, jewelry, etc. and be wiser, valuing the realtionships that made us who we are. Depsite all the years polemics and drama, they remain brothers and Koffi will always remain his fan just like the early days.

Today's headline news:

Very rarely does Western media recognize African greatness.

Something that ticks me a lil bit...Mwalimu was sick, kinda forced his way back to stage. At his age why schedule his performance at 5 AM? And we gotta educate our people about first respond!! Someone passes out and see how many ppl surrounded him? They even got him up??wat if it was just a lack of blood activities in his brain?
First musician to make me drop a tear on their death since Pepe Kalle( had nightmares for days)
