PRIVATE LIFE AND PERSONALITY


jackie ntumba mulopwe was born on 7th of June of 1970 in kinshasa,he is married to mamie bakemba he nicknames bak'love with who he has 4 kids and a 22 year old relationship
jackie is a very homeloving person which somehow is strange for somebody whose job requires him to be outside often either to perform or record or promote songs or also just have fun outside like most people
one of the reasons behind it is his natural shyness,but apart from that from his own explanation he likes staying at home a lot because it allows him to calmly watch things happening around him,get inspiration from it to write songs since he has that gift of writing his own songs
he also likes being a bit mysterious in his acting ,dressing or any of his attitudes in general because for him artists are special people who are not like everybody
one of the example of his love of mysteriousness is the fact  in his first trip back to kinshasa after moving to europe,he wore red contact lenses which scared and surprised people in kinshasa
nonetheless he is also a big joker when being vith very close people or even sometimes in interviews when he has good connection with interviewer
another reputation he has is being a guy who is very difficult to see during the daylight,unless forced by his job, as he tries to keep his skin as light as possible
he loves martial arts especially taekwondo in which he reached  advance dan level
ROLE MODELS AND DEBUT AS A SINGER

jdt has a vast range of models,starting with madilu system,josky kiambukuta,djo mpoyi,bozi boziana,franco himself,papa lutumba..in short he is a massive ok jazz thanks to his father who used to listen a lot to their songs
apart from ok jazz,his main other model despite not blatantly copying any aspect of him,is king kester emeneya for which he used to skip school sometimes or come back home very late just because there was a victoria concert or rehearsal or even just kester walking in the streets,which shows how big his admiration was
he also appreciates tabu ley and the "old" koffi olomide,like he sometimes says,the koffi olomide who was not yet a continental star aswell as wenge musica of course
jdt starts music at home trying to interpret ok jazz songs and later starts like most future musicians singing at church around 13/14
three years later in 1987,he joins street group IBG MUSICA in his native area of bandal where he starts realising he has talent to write songs and plays music
him starting to play in street groups does not bother his parents too much as long as he continues being very good at school and does not consider music like his career
two years later,he starts attending wenge musica rehearsals as a fan and as time went on he started having some underground contribution
in 1989/1990 he is in his last year of high school,where he studies sciences(his main topics being mathematics and physics)with his close friends pitshou savanet mbemba aka depitsho(who he was also with in IBG),blanchard mosaka,saki sacramento the younger brother of sylvie mampata....he is promised by his parents that if he gets his diploma he will go to europe to continue at university
and as he gets his diploma he is sent to europe with objective of becoming a scientist but once he is there despite starting to study as his parents expect,his desire to become a professional musician becomes bigger and bigger and quickly he starts participating to rehearsals with adolphe dominguez,aimé bwanga,ricoco and co just for fun without any real project
the arrival of marie paul from wenge musica will boost them to really form the group wenge el paris and after having recorded ricoco's molangi ya malasi,they go on to record group nganga nzambe where jdt will interpret zing zong's song decepta
this is the debut of a particular career of a particular character


EL PARIS,MAISON MERE,LES MARQUIS AND SOLO CAREER


in 1992,when el paris return to kinshasa for the first tim,jdt is involved in a mysterious car accident everybody but him dies and he does not even have a little bruise which leads to a lot of polemic and is the beginning of a reputation which will follow him for all his career
few years after,because of their respective fans and " staffs" a conflict appears between him and depitcho,,both are often questioned for the way they sing and within the group some prefer jdt some depitcho,and as time goes on,jdt sometimes move to belgium to perform with his friends jean didier loko jdl,didier anaconda,jf ifonge and co
but he receives support from marie paul and comes back with the group for some concerts,but does not feel comfortable but he tries to keep his motivation especially now that his parents have accepted his career as a musician
in 1997,when the rivals of wenge musica 4X4 split,he wants to go back home as he is fed up of tough relationship with some of his colleagues and some fans aswell,so with marie paul's benediction he goes to join the newly born wenge musica maison mere
he participates in the group's first album intervention rapide, and will earn himself a name in kinshasa with his vocal in the big hit chantal switzerland
his looks,melancholic voice and dancing skills make him become quite appreciated by fans,but there is also like in el paris some who consider him a poor singer saved by his looks
he becomes an important member of the group,being involved in the group's many succesful tours and participates in second group album solola bien and of course the mega concert of bercy in 2000
Even if he still does not get a song on albums,he contribute to other's songs with vocals but also sometimes with his writing skills and the proof of his good influence is the group is the fact he is picked by werrason to be in charge of discipline in the group as he is very respected being the one of the oldest members
in 2001,when recording solo album of their boss werrason,jdt is part of a group of musicians unhappy about  money issues and already says the name of les marquis,telling his colleagues that one day if he leaves maison mere he will create a group called les marquis
he is once again victim of a mysterious accident with his brand new car he got from bercy tour,once again he is safe  but his car is so destroyed that its a miracle he got out of the car
from then,he starts having some doubts wondering if the group is not trying to sacrifice him and becomes a bit distant to his colleagues but in 2002 he is involved in arguably the biggest fight between maison mere and bcbg musicians
in fact,they go to grand hotel's nightclub while bcbg is on stage at grand hotel's most famous hall salon congo,and when bcbg's musicians arrive at nightclub some of the maison mere guys go towards and start taunting them,jdt first takes time to check what is happening and surprises people by slapping  bill clinton because of some extremely strong words he says to bcbg's jules kibens but then as the situation gets extremely hot with also fans of both groups joining the fight and injures one of bcbg's fans at eyebrow arch with a high kick,which gets him fined by police
 few times later,he slaps bill clinton again at funerals of a donor to calm him down as he taunts tonya tonya members which jdt considers an inappropriate behaviour but his slapping is clearly understood as a way to "educate" guys like bill who are much younger so neither does bill react nor does the group punish jdt
back on music field,2002 will have helped him improve his popularity especially at double zenith where he has nice koyimbiko skills and gets for the first time an opportunity to add a song to a group album
he then calls felix wazekwa with who he has a very good relationship to ask for advice as he hesitates between 8 of his songs and wazekwa advises him to pick examen,which he does and the songs gets a good reception
to thank felix wazekwa, he makes a surprise appearance at a cultura concert and  tells the story in front of fans and admits publicly his admiration for wazekwa who came almost out of nowhere to become a respected artist,one of the very rare to have a big sponsor...
Later in mid-2003 a fight involving maison mere musicians happens again,this time with quartier latin's fally ipupa,cambodge and jordan kusa,but jdt does not get involved
surprisingly he gets the biggest punishment  as he is handed undetermined suspension,while other guys get warnings and "just" a month of suspension
he finds that treatment unfair and clearly says in a radio interview if he is not wanted anymore he will move and that there is koffi olomide who has approached most of the main members of the group and maybe he will accept koffi's offer because he can't stay at home forever as he has a family to feed and parents who are not retired and rely on him
few days before festival of fespam in brazzaville,his suspension is lifted thanks to intervention of werra's wife mampata who he thanks in his first appearance on tv
in march of 2004 while returning from la zamba,is once again victim of a serious car accident with car almost totally destroyed and some traumas
he is stuck in hospital for a good moment but since he is fit enough to move he makes it on the list for UK tour with the group and once in europe is in hospital again to get a better treatment
once again the though of potentially being sacrificed or his accident having anything mystic appears and he starts planning to give another direction to his career,also he still is angry against maison mere's administrators who for him caused the long suspension by reporting false things to werrason
he decides not to go back with the group and stay in europe to continue recovering well and having time to think about his future
meanwhile,ferre chair de poule,bill clinton and some other guys remained in europe aswell for various reasons and start rehearsing together and when jdt is now fully fit and relaxed he joins them and brings back his idea of les marquis
they announce working on album"sukali sukali elengi elengi" which will later be renamed miracles on advice of people around them,whereas miracles is the title of the solo album of werrason they were working on when still members of maison mere
in one of their first interviews,jdt says he is grateful to werrason for what he did in his career but openly says werrason should know the ones contributing directly to his career are musicians and not the so called admins,refering to his suspension he still was unhappy about
jdt,ferre and bill are approached by several producers for their album and its monsieur simon who wins thanks to his 10 year contact with a hefty individual fee paid to them
on their album,each of the three leaders has 3 songs,in the case of jdt he has ecole which will be one of the most popular songs of that album,eric gwenye and miami
when bill clinton and ferre decide to go back to kinshasa as they are eager to reinforce their success by promoting their album and competing directly with maison mere,jdt is reluctant to follow them as he has experience of conflicts when a group born in europe goes back to kin,since in his time in el paris tensions appeared in the group after going to kin and he does not want the same thing to happen again
but one thing will force him to move back quicker than expected,as the producer monsieur simon files a complaint against les marquis for not respecting their contract
he goes back to kin quickly to "run away" from it,but comes back as he managed to have a phone discussion with monsieur simon which somehowed sorted the issue
he went to to record album eluka makambo with some of the remaining members of les marquis in europe,which gets a good reception but he does not perform much
he goes back to kinshasa where he is offered a one year "trial" with skol,he ends up doing 18 months with them but fails to get a long term contract,nevertheless they accept to sponsor him at some concerts
three years later he records moleki nzela  after recruiting musicians in kinshasa to form a band which will be completely his instead of relying too much on europe session artists
in this album he honours his luba origins by doing a mutuashi song with legendary mutuashi singer tshala muana
once again album gets a good reception and is considered like one of the best albums of the year but like  with previous album he has a limited number of concerts and even worse his producer do not fund him well enough to promote it,and since he considers that a producer has to do his role and an artist his which is to sing dance and do clips,makes no effort to promote album and prefers continuing living his normal life of a very homeloving guy,who prefers writing songs and relaxing at home than partying outside
in 2010 another accident happens,but this time he is not even in the car,its his recently hired driver and a young guy who became like a private assistant
the young guy dies and the driver who is safe ran away but people from the quarter of the young guy where very very angry jdt thinking he was in the car and even go to his house to cause havoc,they are so angry that they are on the verge of burning his house,thankfully,roger ngandu who lived just in front of jdt arrived and paid the guys to calm them down
jdt was not in the car,and was not even in kinshasa,he was in europe for the birth of one of his kids,and apparently the driver was drunk and had been fined few times before accident for speeding as reveals justice
in terms of music,he releases a generique announcing his next album acteur principal,get another producer to release his album,but few times after the producer is arrested as he is actually a con man
few years after in 2014, problems over his two previous producers are completely over and he signs a three year contract with journalist,deputy and producer serge kayembe and his label sek productions and releases in december silikoti,an extract of his album,which gets a good reception
album is expected to be released in summer of the current year as everything is finished but him and producer agreed to do some proper promotion before release

This dude and car accidents I'm surprised that he hasn't pulled Dennis Bergkamp and refused to go on a specific transportation because of bad past experiences. Hypothetically if all the people Koffi went after and accepted his offer joined Quatier Latin they're would've been no space at all. That makes no sense that JDT gets the most punishment when he had nothing to do with fight with Quatier Latin guys. Did Werra know about JDT's plan for a group called Les Marquis?

yes,werra knew about it,him and his close guys actually had to convince the musicians that they'll get cars and money,they were ready to refuse to go back to europe and finish kibuisa and like newside rightfully mention,ferre went to "betray" them to werra
i am sure maison  mere did not  hear about his radio interview talking about  koffi,otherwise it would have been extremely hard for him to go back in the group

like in almost all big groups,there were some strange things going on which made them not get the money,for example in double zenith after concert musicians asked for their money vieux eliott pretended that somebody had stolen the money and ran away in a car
and on your other question where you mention the flying dutchman,i think the fact he hired a driver says a lot he must have affected a lot,4 accident in one life is really a lot
