Congolese Music / Re: WERRASON TESTING YET ANOTHER SOLOIST

With due honesty, Sarah Solo is not that good to the WMM level. Good on rhumbas but not sebene. She's ain't that creative too.
I disagree, she really didn't have time to develop and show her skills, cause one she was a woman so shebwas already facing discrimination by her colleagues and two cause Makaba was trying in every way to make her quit which she actually did, about creatività tbh Makaba was stealing/reinterpreting a lot of guitar partitions like Muselu from Japonais and also the Ya Ngiama Coach from Debarquement cries of Emeneya, when he actually tried to make his creations (Ko Beta Kayi, etc) it was really basic and notnonoar of WMM either

08:28 isnthe sane exact riff of Ya Ngiama Coach

Plus she is way better then the new guys and she had the experience to being able to play even other songs/old songs which I don't think the new guys will have, Ndombolo music isn't like in the past anymore where everybody wanted to be the next Kapaya people now want to be the leader of their own band or just be like Innoss being a one man show surrounded by dancers who helps him perform, so it is extremely hard to find a serious guitarist who won't run away and tbh Werra should stop giving Kakol, Hugo Synthe and others so much power over his band, because this method haven't been working, welost very good guys who could sing well and really cared about the group, for guys who just like Kakol's behind to get promoted  and then what? The quality of the music get lost, peoole have spoken about Fally's Europe tour, Ferre's Double tour, even of Roga Roga going to France to perform at the Casino du Paris, but when was the last time you have heard about Werra? Even JB who was seen the laziest now gets his new music (Zebuka mianly) played in parties, but with Werra is just the Bill & Celeo or the Brigade and Lobeso and occasionali Diego and Prince music you hardly hear any song made in the period of ambulance, Bercy etc. Why? Cuase the spiritual of Wenge got lost and money and favouritism prevaled over raw talent

I agree with you here. But do you think she’s better than the current guy(Ya makulu-forgot his name)and the ones recently tested

One of the cool guys I have interacted with Felly Tyson included. I sat next to him on a bus while travelled with jet set to Mombasa from Nairobi. You couldn't hear a word from him first not unless you asked him a question.

Congolese Music / What release was this Air Zaire LP?
« Last post by bencuri on Today at 15:16 »
I have found this record recently, I wonder what release is this? The credits say: African Fiesta Sukisa. Is it just a normal release by Dr. Nico, or it was released by Air Zaire and the tracks were used as background music on airplanes or company projects?

The other oddity is that Mama Elisa Mobange, the last track, is actually a Conga Success track, not a Fiesta Sukisa track. At least as I know...

Not the strongest tune of Roga Roga, but can hear some nice ideas in it, both rhythm and solowise. In my opinion Patati Patata was a better tune, but this one is interesting as well. The video seemed more promising though.

he arrived in kinshasa in 2003 from the kongo central region, and he was taken to werra's house in 2007 and he passed his test in front of werra then he got sent to kakol's house to be prepared to anticipate the potential departures of flamme and mogratana and was part of that group of fabregas deplick and co leaving with kakol and even did the pre-record of kakol's classic fidelité d'amour before the first team guys played it in studio and then a place was up for grabs in ferre's group as christian ran away in europe, and due  to the urgent need of a soloist he did not even pass a traditional test and covered straight away from their first concert back home
he talked about hardship in our music saying that he will not let one of his children do music in congo because there is a lot of stupid things happening in and around that music and gives example of how when he joined the group most of the group did not like him because they were still upset about the one who left  and chikito who was then not even major yet was sending him to buy stuff or things like that then in the long run they got us to him
he said he grew up in a wealthy family and he did music only out of passion which is why he knew that once he had handled the hardships he could build his life and his career
he said that his role models are maitre ficarre, alain makaba, roga roga, rigo star and franco and played some of their work, then about flamme he said flamme was not his model but undeniably the icon of the post-makaba generation
shame he did not get asked about guy though,he was in the best position to talk about his death as guy lived  in the same building 2 stairs up i think or something
he started music as a rnb dancer, then became a drummer in rumba/sebene and then moved to guitar by pure coincidence as the street group he was in split and there was no guitarist to be on the other side

Finally he went back with the Atalakus he finally understood that Bokoko was a trend but that he doesn't have the skills to give that type of genre views, cause everybody listen to the original (Arafa Tshena) with that said at this time Espe Bass must leave tbh after so much time his album still haven't came out? Go away man
