Why do you personally listen to someone who is a wanted criminal in some countries, who raped and abused women. Is the 'me too' movement not apply to Congo? Is Koffi Weinstein Cosby Olomide according to you worth all the hype surrounding him or is he a psycopath (according to Karmapa) who need to be jailed?

Some were surprised that I listen to his music after hearing about how he behaves.

It was in 2006, during that European-tour. Those 4 female dancers escaped from Koffi's home trought the window helped by zoulou's and then started their own life, you will notice that on the end of the tour Koffi was using other female dancers coming from Ivory Coast and other countries. 3 years later after that incident 3 of the 4 female dancers sued him for rape and sexual abuse, slavery, etc. It was Bennie, Stella & Laura. Marcation refused to participate. It was then said that they did it to get papers in France. Before that Chouchou Mbayo & Laura Mobindi sued Koffi in 2004 for rape, accussing that he let them drink his urine and made porn-video's. They were along with Zobozi,B-52, Maitre-Dada, US Force and Assitou-Mbo who sued Koffi for not paying them for months. Koffi was then not able to get out the DR Congo, which made the release Monde Arabe getting delayed. The crazy thing is that Zobozi returned not long after that and Chouchou Mbayo returned in 2009. She said then that, that story wasn't true, the she was manipulated by other leaders. But it was already to late, because she messed Koffi's reputation up. Who had already a bad reputation due to Kamono's interview made in 1995, when she joined Zaiko. That video of Zobozi, Chouchou, Laura, B-52, etc. attacking Koffi in 2004 used to be on YouTube and dailymotion back in 2006/07 but it all dissapeard. I remember Bennie's mother attacking Koffi during Anya Star's wedding, but that video also dissapread.

Some people who are close to the two dancers, say they want to take complaint off, but they are scared to lose their papers. Bennie is the only one who is against. She made even an interview with a French-newspapers. Where she claimed that Koffi raped her in the toilet of a convenience stores, which is/owned by is friend and many other things. She's married to a white man know and attacks Koffi often on her facebook. The crazy thing is that she used to be Koffi's favorite dancer and people close to Koffi say that it's because of her that Koffi left Patience behind in Kinshasa when they came for that. I think that this all wouldn't happen if Patience was there.

Jesus, those are some tough accusations! If those are true, then Koffi is no different than R.Kelly or Harvey Wienstein!

Do you believe there is truth to her claims? I'm split, because I'm well aware that Koffi has a bad track record with women but rape is a whole other kind of crime. If this is true, then he should be in prison.

Wooow that’s crazy. Thats what i thought, bennie used to be one of the koffi’s favorite in 2005-2006 + she used to dance very well. « Theses h*** aint loyal » (if its fake).

Artists have to be accountable when they commit crimes or do anything that's immoral. Point. blank. period.This is a large conversation that's bigger than Koffi. The #metoo movement is supposed to get rid of and scare men who think sexual assault is okay and use it for their benefit and expose them.

 Weinstein, R. Kelly and Cosby's career's are going to suffer, BUT will I act as if R.Kelly didn't play a pivotal part on what R&B sounded like in the 1990's? Will I act like the Cosby show didn't change America's perception of Black people in the 80's-90's? No. The same could apply to Koffi, but that doesn't dispute the fact that his artistry has done A LOT of the Congolese culture. He's legendary.

These people are incredibly talented but are also incredibly f**ed up. Lots of people have attachments to artist's and their work and it's hard to separate the two.  There's no winning situation. You can simply like their art and keep it moving, and keep it at that. Or you can look for someone else's art you can support who isn't immoral who's just as good.
