Makaba says that way before the project he received a call from jb and jb told him they were getting old and he was wondering what would be their legacy as wenge 4X4 and saying that it would be great that they reunite even to see each other first,and thankfully amadou diaby's project came along the way and he was very happy to see the guys again,for example werrason he had not seen him since the split even just one time,the rest he saw them once here and there so it was emotional to sit next to werra and talk and joke again
he says he made a radical break from spotlight because the wenge split was a huge blow to him because he put all his soul into wenge,he'd spend days at studios without eating or being sick but still giving his energy till the end so it was very hard for him to find himself without wenge which is why he tried as much as he could to avoid anything related to wenge in order to "mourn" the split but now time 25 years after he feels ready for a new chapter,he was still active in music in studio,doing music for movies,and on stage aswell playing with a band of americans around the world but he did not want to be in the spotlight for a while
about who will participate he is indirectly asked the ever controversial ferre question and he said those who should participate are those who were in 4X4 at the moment of the split, not those who participated in wenge bcbg and wenge maison mere albums only
by the way about ferre i heard from kin that jp kyss still has the pre records of the wenge album they were meant to record after feux de l'amour which had ferre's voice
