Chai was rejected from joining the BCBG group

JB didn’t want Chai in the group because he wanted to give BCBG a fresh start after Kibens’ departure. Tolbert Solo became Artistic Director, and Genta became Head of Government, albeit unofficially. Chai just didn’t fit this new direction.

Most of the musicians, except JDL and Rio, didn’t want him back because of several videos where Chai undermined the younger members’ contributions and publicly insulted Genta in various media. Chai was implicitly aware of this: JB never directly said “no,” but said he’d discuss it with the orchestra, which Chai took as a rejection.

Trying to turn things around, Chai released multiple videos, thinking fans would be excited about his return but the reaction was the opposite. He even got threats from BCBG fans. In response, he said, “If the fans don’t like me, it’s fine they’ll have to see me in BCBG anyway,” which only confirmed the group’s decision not to take him back.

I agree with you Mfumu Vata. You are spot on. This was a great interview indeed. Elvis Kunku was a good guest for Mr. Rumba. Mr. Rumba did a great job conducting this interview. He has done great interviews before but this one is probably one of his best ones. I heard claims that there is a family connection between him and Madilu System. I see a strong ressemblence between Elvis Kunku and Madilu System. I am surprised to learn that he knew Papa Wemba in his earlier years. I am happily surprised to learn this situation didn't lead to a conflict between Papa Wemba and Pepe Kalle. I wonder if Elvis Kunku is the one who got Papa Wemba and Pepe Kalle to meet before they would sing together in the song Amena years later. I am sure Dilu Dilumona and Papy Tex were mad to find out that Pepe Kalle sung with Papa Wemba and Kester Emeneya on the song Amena for Viva La Musica.

About Cocktail, it is clear from Elvis' response, it appeared that Empire Bakuba was about to split because it looked clear that Elvis, Doris, MP Cherie alongside Dilu and Papy were already becoming annoyed with Boeing 737, Lofombo and Djuna. From Elvis' response, I feel like Empire Bakuba was going to be Viva La Musica with Nouvelle Ecriture and Cour des Grands. Pepe Kalle was going to have two sides of Empire Bakuba. One would be Empire Bakuba Kadima with Dilu, Elvis, Doris, Papy with probable additions of old Viva or Quartier Latin folks like Do Akongo, Luciana and Popolipo with a possible return of Solo Sita with Djodjo Ikomo staying on that side. Another would have been Empire Bakuba Delta Force with Desouza, Biya, Laudy, Germain, Lofombo, Djuna, Boeing 737 with folks like Strelly Mikobi, John Scott Ortega, etc.

Back to Papa Wemba, I wonder if there were plans of a duet album between Papa Wemba and Pepe Kalle because it apepared they hung somewhat during the periods of 1997 to 1998. I know Pepe Kalle was preparing duet albums with Madilu System and Nyboma. I wonder if Papa Wemba and Pepe Kalle had plans of a duet album.

I find it hard to imagine Luciana in Empire Bakuba, especially since he wanted to continue with Nouvelle Génération despite Fafa's arrest... this is the best interview Mr. La Rumba has ever done

Celeo is saying that he has been approached by producer and that he'll go see ferre heritier jdt werra who represent the leader the oldest the chef and the youngest of the group to lay foundations for a maison mere anniversary since they never did one  once  the group was established

Maison Mère has already responded with a dance… basically, go f**k yourself with your birthday

I don't see Alain Makaba react to him. Apparently, Makaba made an angry call back in the days that Ado Yuhe interviewed Japonais. But since that he didn't want react it  was Ado Yuhe who did it on his place, by calling him a liar. I believe that he will do the same thing with Christian Schengen. It's crazy that Japonais said this, because back when he did an interview with I think Alain Dizoizo or somebody else in 2008, he was talking with massive respect about Makaba. I believe that something happened recently between the two guys.

Lol, I saw the discussions about Werra's age reappear again, because of Japonais saying that Werra is from 1964. Someone in the comments said that it is 1963 like many say, that it was because of papers and another one replying that it's not true because of frère Patrice being from 1963

Despite all the respect I have for his work, I feel like Japonais is a liar and takes credit for a lot of things.

so what they would do is while the first concert is advanced a part of the band already goes to start at the second venue, then same for the third, you can see in this video for example that there is three uniforms on the same stage because of that

In case you missed it, check out the number 2 drummer from 17:53 and 1:10:50. Surprise, does anyone recognise him?

Yes it’s Daddy Puff of Viva

Carlito confirms Ditutala’s version.

It's most likely 1989 because he was singing the song Mannequin which came out in Elle Et Moi 1989.

It's September 1988.

Bebert Etou completely sabotaged the promotion of the album. He even scheduled Koffi’s concert at the same time as JB’s concert meant to promote Balle de Match. He blocked all the Balle de Match music videos and even tried to financially scam JB

They are preparing another project that will be recorded here
