Patcho Star revealed how Victoria musicians abandoned Tofla in Europe after he contracted AIDS. No one wanted to be near him, and during concerts, musicians would distance themselves from him on stage. Patcho Star said he was the only one cooking for him, and that they were planning to run away together. However, Gina Efonge caught them and had a conversation with Patcho, saying he felt that Tofla would die soon. This made Tofla return to Kinshasa, with Patcho following later. Tofla eventually passed away a few months afterwards
For those who do not know Tofla Kitoko. Tofla Kitoko was a rhythm, mi-solist and bass-player that used to play in Viva la Musica from 1980 to 1982, co-founded Victoria Eleison in 1982 to co-found Victoria Principal in 1984 to return the same year back to Victoria Eleison and stay member until his death in 1988. He was also great songwriter, writing hitsongs like Abissina, Bopi and Isbond (also known as Zizi). Emeneya kept singing Abissina in concerts after Tofla Kitoko's death and even sung Isbond along with Tabu Ley, when performing at Olympia in 2002.

Patcho Star talked about how he joined Victoria Eleison in Europe three months later, after being left behind in Kinshasa. He witnessed how broke the musicians of Victoria Eleison were, despite having made a lot of money during their long 1986–87 European tour, Emeneya blocked all money for himself. Hearing this reminded me of Makolin once speaking in church about that same tour. He said there had been plans during the tour, together with Pinos, Safro, Otis and others to start a band the moment they would return to Kinshasa, but that God probably changed those plans and him ended up staying in Europe instead.
A few years ago, I believe it was either Auguy Lutula or Makolin who said that during a performance in the Netherlands, all the instrumentalists refused to go on stage unless they were paid, Pinos was one of the guys who insisted on it. They ended up by performing, but very late. Maybe that Emeneya hold a grudge about that incident and decided to leave Pinos behind for the 1991 tour which ended up becoming his exile.
Thinking about the plan of the band, after returning to Kinshasa, problems started between Emeneya and Verckys. I wonder if Verckys wouldn't have used Makolin and if the band was formed, it against Emeneya like the way, Verckys used Emeneya against Papa Wemba.Because Makolin was a rising star at that time.
