1. Does your favorite Drummer ALWAYS gives a good tempo and keeps it through the song?

2. Have you seen him play a concert where there is no break between songs (non-stop show
    where songs have different tempos)?

3. Do you feel that the bass guitar played in the song is compatible with his way of playing the
    bass drum?

4. Does your favorite Drummer have the following qualities? Has the speed, is versatile, has
great techniques, is a good listener and has the groove. Remember this... doing complicated
things does not necessarily make someone a good drummer. Ask yourself if what he is doing
    is right for the music.

When it comes to Congolese music, I will tell you that the sebene is the easiest part to play. There are like three different rhythms on the snare. The Drummer chooses the one he thinks will be compatible with the solo guitar rhythm. But the tempo is still the same.

The urban dictionary definition of the word “Groove” is: An adjective describing a rhythmic quality of music that is emotionally communicative and soulful; used for music moving at a steady beat.

You can name non-Congolese Drummers too.  ;) ;) ;)

Why is Seguin the worst? I know Titina's work...not Seguin's. Why do you think JB keeps him as the main Drummer in his band?

Is is the worst because he does not hit the drums and in a melodic way. Jb keeps him as a friend not as artist.

There maybe some other drumming qualities you don't see in Seguin. I would be very surprised that JB keeps him because of friendship.  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks archos for sharing. I'll have a look at the videos later; the firewall prevents me from watching youtube.

My favorites are Deo Sfr (R.I.P.),  Cambodge (due to Effrakata & Generation Bercy), Titina Al Capone and Champion Djikapela. It makes me always laughs when Champion never wants to name Cambodge name in interviews.
