Man everyone is really happy that Defao is back, it’s nice

I know right; with the long absence of an undisputed popular leader in Kin he can take the no. 1 spot. I’ve never listened to a bad album from him despite the hardships  - the most consistent artist
It is not his era amymore

4127

He says he is a man of principles,he never start problems with anybody and people can go ask even in maison mere(few days ago i saw gemerose who was the oldest of all the singers who arrived in maison mere after ferre say the same thing, that deplick does not start things but if you mess with him he'll hit back strong) and he has decided that from now on he will never talk again about fabregas whether its praise or criticism and the same decision applies to him in private, and nobody will change his decision, not his mother, not werra not even the president of DRC because there is a limit to bullshit so he wants to be free by completely erasing fabregas from his life
he added that people do not know some things which happen behind the scenes, and this decision is even to protect himself at spiritual level by becoming totally distant to fabregas to remain alive and that people can judge on what they see on tv but they do not know the whole story, he is 33 years old now so he is old enough to make decisions and stand by it,as he estimates its the best thing for his life
he has  respect  for him as a human being and a good artist but he wants to leave all that in the past and continue his life and he hits out at journalists because its them who fuel conflicts  with their questions to cause polemic and make great views and money and especially for him internet journalist who have a toxic influence on our music and he says he used to warn heritier about them but he was misunderstood and now the same people who pretend loyalty to him by attacking other artists have now started to attack him aswell and hopefully now heritier learned that he should not trust them
he will performing at la zamba soon and he hopes he will be in form because at the moment he is doing interview he is sick so he hopes he recovers in time to deliver a great show
I know Deplick is sincere, but, he needs ti focus on his music and stop falling for journalist interviews to make him look like he is a cry baby. He did an album and an EP with really great material. But everytime I saw one of his interviews it seems like he is mad at someone (Heritier first, now Fabregas). Even though people may say polemic fuels career it really does not unless you are a spokeman of a group. If he doesn't change he will make the same end of Celeo: no matter how Celeo try or make a good song eith views and success, people will only know him for his polemics.

Dubai Kenya right?

I watched a King Kester Emeneya interview where he says the mabanga phenomena as we know it today began with this song for Willo Mondo.

How true is it?

@Manzambi I think it's a smart way too but again I think as an artist, you have to be creative in the way you mention the names or the song will be boring. Like the names have to rhyme with the other lyrics in a song. And yeah excess mabanga is not good.

So what really happens for the song owners if the song turns out to be a flop? Am sure there should some reparations one way or another. Do the song owners have a pre-recording listen to the song or its up to the musician to chose the best song for this or that donor? I have noticed that the likes of Tabou Fatou have some nice songs to their name whether be it by Ferre, Fally or JB Mpiana etc.

yeah its true. Mabanga already started in 70s with Soki Brothers and Zaiko, but it was then that they were giving to 3 people in a whole song. For example when Papa Wemba just started Viva La Muisca he would gave in a song Ebale Mbonge only shout-out (which was then Koffi Olomide "Olomide!!!!"). The mabanga (citing like more than 10/20 people in a song) started with King Kester Emeneya in 1985 with the Willo Mondo-album when he met guys like Anicet Pedro (RIP), Modogo Gianfranco Ferre, etc. in Paris, also known as "Bana Firenze", they gave him then alot of clothes. I think that it was the same trip when he came back with his "pomper injection-car" (a red bmw).

The same Emeneya came with that style of singing names from 5:13 min. JB Mpiana copied that vocal but I forgot in which song.
I think that there isn't any Congolese artist in Congo that has been mistrested, humiliated and belittled as much as Emeneya, despite having credit for a lot of things people and other leader in general (surprisingly even Werra whowas Emeneya's biggest fan between the leaders) never credited him until he died unlike Papa Wemba whi was way more respected than the King Emeneya. And it is sad thinking about how his life ended ahead of time his son paralyzed and many many ither tragedies that Emeneya faced @Cavalier Soltaire flop can happens but the even more smarter way is making private sings for donors. That is like the ultimate money move

clearly yes, nowadays artists can earn as much on selling a song to a rich donor as what they earn through sales, downloads and so on of a whole album which is why artists have increased the number of songs, since they are in self production mode for most, what they spend to record is a lit bit inferior to what they earn through mabanga
If you think about it Mabanga and song given to domors are two of the smartest way to make money. Wheter the song is a flop or not you are already being paid

in this video wazekwa presents his official group channel where they might have weekly updates of studio or rehearsal, and used that opportunity to present new members after having lost 8 singers (ceden play, carcini luzubu, junior wendo, late eddy... and recently the almost lifelong guylain essamba who openly left cultura to go solo and announced it during a concert with wazekwa asking crowd to clap for him and support him by going to his concerts)
they give extracts of some of the songs  of new album which has been renamed article 23( article 23 in congolese constitution is an article about freedom of speech) including a song about congo, which sounds like a remix of motema mabe
Why all those singers left?

4132
Plus I don't know why there are random question marks after my title!
Because they are emojis that from your phone that the forum system doesn't recognize as emoticon

4133
So does the YouTube views count also or its just the streaming from the streaming sites like iTunes, tidal etc?
For the albumand single sales usually is 130 stream equal ome single sold. The same with albums (for spotify) about Apple Music and the ithers I don't know

No I meant Celeo. I know Bill is extremely wealthy, but I don't know much about Celeo

4136
Let’s see how long this time

lol with them, too much whisky in one night is enough to restart " tala celeo kuna ameli C4 aza jaloux","millionaire mais akokaka koya poto te,millionaire en franc congolais, kaka kolata bilamba ya turique " :D :D :D
For real. Is Celeo rich or not?

Congolese Music / WHO HAS BEEN THE BEST GROUP?
« on: August 15, 2019, 19:48 »
With the arrival of the 5th generation leaders (Fally, Ferre, Fabro, Heritier, Robinio) the previous generation is relaxing a little bit more.
With that said who to you was the best Group and the best leader from the 90's till the 2006? (The year were Fally decided to launch a solo career)
Koffi & QL? Werra and Wenge MM? JB and Wenge BCBG? Wazekwa and 'S Grave?
To me music wise I think that the genrrique are a toe to toe between QL and Wenge. QL earlier generique weren't that agressive but the upcoming and bigger by the day success of Wenge made Koffi fear to lose his spot in Comgolese Music. For Wenge I think that it is hard to judge them fairly in generique since until Fleche Ingeta it was hard to see a generique by Wenge flop despite his actual Quality. Alerte Gemerale (2003), Ça Sonne (2004) Tindika Lokito (SKOL AD) Primus AD, Sous-Sol (2006) Mayi Ya Sika/Temps Present (2008) and so on. I think that the first bad generique by Wenge were the Malewa ones not because of the one with Sima Ekoli and the Mini Radio Generique of that Album but the main one of 14 minutes long was really off except maybe for Sabena and Brigade. BCBG could be inthe covnversation but they make pass too much time between albums to be taken seriously im this context but I have to admit it is impossible that a generique from JB fails Anti-Terro, Mpunda, Je Ne Te Calcule Pas etc.
For Rhumbas Koffi and JB are toe to toe but Koffi has a slight advantage since Koffi's rhumba tend to stick more in the memory unlike JB's recent ones (I am talking about recent ones) for the ols ones Koffi wins but JB also produced some incredible Rhumbas and Conseille songs that earned him the spot and the may loyal loyal fans he has.
Wazekwa really did some stellar generique but I don't know why he always lack something in the Rumba.
My personal choice (despite being a HUUUUGE, and Matebu can confirm a HUUUUUGE Wenge MMM fn) is Koffi. The guy is there from the 70's and he still competing with young guys from nowhere he made Selfie and reach worldwide at like what 60?
2nd Werra. I put him second because I think that a lot of Wenge Members especially recently after the golden generation are taken for the looks and/or to counterattack something or someone. Even the guys after the Ferre/Bill generation.
Deplick to counterattack Fally, Fabregas, Cafe Rhoum and Deplick himself to counter attack JB's success with Abraham, Djino and Nono Fudji in Francis Solution. Sous-Sol to counter attack the success from Fally Ipupa and even in the early days Bill given more space and time over Celeo to counter attack Tutu Caludji's success in animation.
Recently Arnake to Counter attack Ferre, Bercy also to counter attack Ferre, Ronaldinho for looks (the guy is a mediocre singer). Ozil for looks he is also a mediocre singer.
3rd JB. JB could be number one but he fails to be consistent. For real the guy has always amde great music, tell me one bad generique of him there is not a single one but JB is treating music like a 2nd job so he is nit very interested in being in that category of always releasimg

I witnessed the same thing at a wedding-party in Paris.
O.O wow

Congolese Music / Re: KOFFI OLOMIDE - PAPA NGUWASUMA
« on: August 15, 2019, 00:55 »
Guys. Koffi like JB and Werra amd many old guys doesn't need ti proif anything to anyone. Between the three Koffi is the most "IDGAF" so he will keep posting this style of generique. I don't think he is doing it fir the Congolese fans but for Ivoirians and especially Zambians, Kenyans and Zimbabweans who love this "new" style of Koffi. I mean this guy have written Loi album and gave back to back to back to back classics. Youare asking a Washington Wizards's Michael Jordan to win another threepeat give him a break.

I saw Mboshi and Sam dancing Koyimbi-ko on 5:31 min.

Its always weird to see Congolese musicians playbacking vocals of singers who aren't present in the videoclip.

It is a Congolese trademark lol if you didn't know the voice you'd think they were singing the part
3:02 - 3:05 Werra singing J3's part.
Werra is lucky that Social Media weren't available at that time
