This period Defao already sang with Papa Lutumba and Gode Lofombo became the new Ngouma Lokito.

This album made Defao famous in Africa. He toured whole Africa with this album giving soldout concerts everywhere (Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, etc.). In Cabinda (Angola) he performed in their stadium 5 days in a row which is a record and never happened again to another artist.

It's a shame they don't have a video and Defao could've progressed more in the late 90s.

I think that the video exist, but that its rare like many others VHS of the 80’s, 90s and early 2000’s.

Yeah, this album was such a continental smash hit. His Abidjan concert will always be the most exciting concert I've attended

Defao still does very decent music. His voice has never changed even with age

Before Werrason took over around 2000, Defao was dead cert on taking over as the best showman and performer. He had set himself up very well & it's a pity that things fell apart right when he was at the cusp of something great.........very sad.

Sala Noki is still one of the best albums ever produced (fav songs Abdallah & Sala Noki) and every time I want some ndombolo ya solo this is my go to album, Full Option (1+1=love santa & go go empire) and Feux de l'amour (Bana Lunda & Cavalier Solitaire).

Excellent album.

I love the heavy bassline... Who played it? Was it Lofombo or someone else? Also, Theo Mbala did a very good job.

Defao was a genius and a hardworking man for giving us "Famille Kikuta" and "Sala Noki" back to back.

Big Stars was such a big deal. It's a shame how it's a little bit forgotten when people talk about the 90's.
