Yes the man is the backbone to the demise of bcbg. Secondly, that drummer, Seguin.

Hehehe... Emo the number one BCBG fan.
The number one real fan. Not you shamala, sly, archos that shine his shoes at the store. Me I tell Jb the truth.

Hehehe... Am really laughing...

Congolese Music / Re: HOW DID THE INTERNET BLOGS TAKE OVER
« on: May 14, 2016, 06:06 »
A number of the early video bloggers (many of them journalists/promoters) got their start on the web by posting segments of the DVDs they produced and released at the time when YouTube did not exist. They also posted hit music clips of artists in 2006-7, when only a few African clips existed - now those clips have millions of views.

This helped them build a reputation and following, which enabled them to launch media outlets of new content and interviews for free. It also coincided with the fast decline of DVD sales - now who in the right mind would buy a polemique DVD?  The last significant polemique DVD I remember is Marc Tabu’s Katagourouma release a few months after Bord Ezanga Kombo.

The newer journalists - Grace Mbizi, Ken Mpiana, Freddy Akimbe and numerous others have built their interview repertoires rather quickly by getting the contacts of artists and calling them until they agreed to be interviewed.

What has spoiled the éclat for music journalism is that the goal is now to extract potentially controversial statements and make it the main theme of the video, often without the consent of the artist. A journalist can have his career built overnight by posting a video with a controversial element.

The other problem is that journalists aren’t writing articles anymore, therefore there no longer exists a major site to report happenings in music. Digitalcongo used to be an excellent, non-biased musical news resource but it fell out of favor with the growth of Youtube.

A good example is this concise article from October 2001, where Werrason gives his opinion on JB’s Bercy a week earlier and gives out plans of his Double Zenith months in advance:

The one young journalist who has developed a strong positive reputation for objective and highly professional interviews is Ado Yuhe, although he shows sign here and there of being a fanatic.

Nice article

;D ;D An example of a modern BCBG concert with an estimated 50-60 people on the stage. I wonder if anybody in his admin has told him it's just too busy from the spectator's perspective?

Everyone  on that stage has a specific job..Throw a name I give you his job.
