Which decade do you consider to be the most influential decade in terms of the influence it had in Congo, or in africa or even outside of africa. Which decade of our music was influential.

Whether it's the dance, rumba, soukous .. or politics and music,  or sapeur and music. Whatever reason it is.

Choose from the following decades

The 70s
The 80s
The 90s
The 2000s
The 2010s

Which decade would you consider the most influential?

The era before the Nigerians took over, but I cannot recall which era was becauae the time I have started to listening heavily to Congolese music was on the late 90 early 300 which was basically the last era of influential Congolese music before the explosion of P-Square who gradually took the spot out from Congolese music and then Ghana tried to take that spot with Sarkodie and the Azonto wave, but Davido and Wizkid feature with Drake kinda kill every chance of Congo ti become what it was, the only guy who can change that is Innoss'B and to some extent Fally but Fally have really little appeal to American audience, while Innoss must change his songs from Lingala or French to English like Akon who basically despite being a Senegalese have changed

The early 70s, when Tabu Ley was invited signed a contract for 6 months to perform at Olympia everyday (Mobutu messed it up), Abeti Masikini performing in 1973 and twice 1975 at Olympia Bruno Coquatrix as second african women after Myriam Makeba and also at Carnegie Hall in New York in 1974. Sosoliso also getting a contract for Olympia in 1976, but problems with Mobutu, messing it up. Zaiko creating the Cavacha rhythm that play until this day and people using it in Coupe Decale and today rap of Europe.

Also the late 90s/early 2000s when Koffi Olomide, Papa Wemba, King Kester Emeneya, Werrason, JB Mpiana and co started to perform at big halls in Paris (Zenith, Olympia & Bercy) and perfoming in African stadiums like it were their playground.

We can't also ignored the late 50's/60s with African Jazz who were known not only in Black Africa, but also in North Africa (Egypt, Tunesia, Maroc and Algeria).
