Congolese Music / Re: FALLY’S SON MARCOSINS JUST RELEASED HIS FIRST SINGLE« on: March 31, 2024, 20:47 »
Wish him luck - part of me thinks his path will be like what Bronny James is going through now. Hope he doesn’t feel too pressured by critics have to follow in his father’s footsteps

Thanks guys for the welcome
le grand pretre welcome back, now only mfumu to come back there is soooooo many topics where his contribution would be helpful especially archive ones he's exceptional on that Mfumu’s presence and knowledge is surely missed. Anyone has a direct line to him? A few bad eggs might’ve been the cause of departure 23
Congolese Music / Re: 5 years since Le Poete Simaro Lutumba left us« on: March 30, 2024, 21:16 »
Wow, it’s been half a decade already. I remember being emotional that day in 2019 listening to Verre Cassé in particular. The greatest composer the genre has seen

Congolese Music / Re: UNPOPULAR OPINIONS YOU MAY HAVE REGARDING THE GENRE?« on: March 30, 2024, 05:53 »
Hot take - Fally could've sung better Mayday for the hype it gets in my opinion. Imagine if he sang it with his QL/Droit Chemin voice… it’d be on another level. He does more justice to it singing live though

Congolese Music / Re: TEASER NEW SONG BOZI BOZIANA FEAT FALLY IPUPA« on: March 30, 2024, 05:43 »That’s Fally’s QL Voice I’ve been wanting him to use in his own rhumbas. He’s like Koffi at times where his voice sounds better in group albums/featurings than solo albums. Maybe it’s due to them not being surrounded by yesmen in the studio 28
Congolese Music / THIS FOR ME WAS THE MOST SHOCKING GÉNÉRIQUE IMO« on: March 30, 2024, 05:13 »
For a usually mellow artist, back in 99-00 the aggressiveness of thé générique and the sebene songs made more of a shock to me than Cocktail. Theo Mbala’s versatility really shined along with Coréen Polystar
The rhythm gets me every time as well 29
