I'm surprised to know that Pascal Lokua also participated, btw it where they same girls who particapted also on Chocolat with Lokua, so I guess that Iteneraire was recorded on the same moment with Chocolate. Because I remember Koffi saying in an interview with a French-newspaper before Bercy that Chocolate was meant for Loi. The way Koffi still put Beniko's name on the Loi-booklet while he already left, showed how much respect he had for him. The booklet of Loi wasn't on the level of V12 or even that of Ultimatum.

The guy who made that leaflet for Viagra was so funny hahaha "you have to listen to viagra 5 times in a day". Its good how they pointed out on each song who particapted. I'm surprised to see that Lebou Kabuya played lead on Beniko's song Ezala Zala and Clovis Ngouma bass on Pathy's song. Hmmm so Djudju-chet arranged alot of songs without playing, seems that he tuned the drums for Tshe-Tshe le Balle on Collation & Viagra, I loved that drumsound on both songs.

Thanks. I especially liked the work that went into Academia's booklets. It's impressive to see original, untouched photographs used for the booklet and album cover in Force de Frappe's case. You don't see that often with modern Congolese music (since the 80s).

There's a reason they say that 13's the unlucky number, but what about Papa Wemba? Fula Ngenge had 13 songs on a single disc, and how did that work out for him? I should note that the albums you mentioned were all released on the same year, but months apart. Apart from Trop c'est Trop (which was reduced to a standard 10-song, single disc album despite being able to work as a 90-minute, double-disc album), the rest of them were double-disc albums. Coincidence?

BTW, you know how you said Chocolate was a Loi outtake that came two years late? Did Philippe Guez arrange it, or was it Maika Munan?

Hmmmm, yes. About Wemba we can say that Nouvelle Ecriture split, losing then important members Bendoson, Pompom Miyake, Ramazani, Christian Na Nzenze and Azoze Mbonda who went to form Nouvelle Ecriture de l'An 2000. People started to say that could be the end of his career and other said that it was because of disrespecting the spiritual head of the Kimbanguist chuch Jospeh Diangienda, by putting him in the videoclip of Elongi Ya Jesus (a song which about pastors making money on the back of people). Koffi Olomide & Emeneya started to mock and attack him in interviews with people doubting if he would fill Zenith, because Bendoson, Ramazani & Pompom were very famous then. But with help of the old veterans Pinos & Itshari they survived, they recruited new musicians (Nzenze Madodanga, Dady Bola, etc.), went on camp to the prepare the Zenith-show of 2000 and their new album A La Une, recording it then in Kinshasa at Studio Meka with help of arranger Al Nzimbi. But Papa Wemba was then ungrateful towards Pinos and Itshari by leaving them behind in Kinshasa with all the work they had for a him, prefering then to bring ngulu's in their places and triumphing with the succes of his concerts at Zenith de Paris & l'Olympia de Bruno Coquatrix while they coached all those boys. Pinos was furious and decided to leave, he saw his song being deleted from the A La Une-playlist. But Itshari stayed with his song being maintained on that album (Lelo Na Decider).

Those albums were released on 2dics, because one cd can only have 80 minutes. So they were forced to release those albums in two discs because of those songs together being longer than 80 min. If you listen to some songs released in 90s, you will notice that the timing of some songs were reduced, just to make it on the cd. A good example is Koffi's song Mokuwa in Loi, you can hear Modogo wanting to sing his second vocal when the song ended.

Chocolat was arranged by Lokua Kanza and Philphe Guez. Koffi said in an interview with Liberation before Bercy if I remember well, that he wanted to release a song for kids in Attentat, so he decided to release Chocolat who was recorded 2 years earlier and who was meant for Loi. They corrected some little things a put it then on Attentat.
