mann for whatever reason this makes me so happy
wazekwa used to be soooooooo radical against it, who could have imagined that one day they'd start to be back and he'll be going back to montfleury secretly
They don't need him they have Cascadeur and Anti- Rebelle, and Joss is coming back? Oh yeah I'll be mad if i was a Cultura singer or animator.

I agree, but let's hold judgement until we hear new music. Wazekwa is a smart guy, he wouldn't bring them back if it would destroy his band or dip the music in quality

That's not a fair comparison. Because Feux de l'Amour just has 10 songs while Kibuisa Mpimpa is double-album with 17 tacks and both albums are from different era's which more difficult to compare. It's like comparing Nouvelle Generation's album Porokondo to Quartier Latin Academia's Sanction. Also Feux de l'Amour was done with Wenge 4x4 and not with Wenge BCBG of Rio, Kibens, Mpela, Chai and co. It's better to compare TH to Kibuisa Mpimpa. Among all bandleaders of 3th and 4th generation, Werrason cheated with his solo albums Kibuisa Mpimpa and Temoignage. Especially Kibuisa Mpimpa, WMM-members had to much vocals, which makes the album sounds like a bandalbum instead of a solo-album. No wonder that people often want to compare Kibuisa Mpimpa to A La Que Leu Leu. But still Kibuisa Mpimpa stays one of my favorite solo-albums along with Foridoles, Ziggy and V12

That's fair, I never thought of it that way. Werra didn't sing as much on his solo album as one should, but his vocals were the best since Wenge Musica's 1994 album (I forgot the title, Hi Ho Ha was the generique).

no this one was self made by him

Even the beat?

I believe he means the project is self-financed, not through a production company. Celeo paid out of pocket for musicians to participate, as oppose to a producer assigning an advance for recording

This line up is soooo embarrassing. Why would JB select the worst line up in Congolese music to bring to Dubai, he should’ve just done a playback by himself cause that would’ve been wayyyyy better. Kibens, Seguin, JDL, Rio need to leave now, this is just getting ridiculous. Aimelia was right when he said they’re unproductive and cowards and no one wants to see them on stage with Jb anymore. We criticise Werra here for being ruthless and kicking out musicians in Maison Mere but sometimes you need to just take a look at JB and realise what Werra is doing in the long run is correct. Kibens, Rio and Jdl and even Genta just look badly out of shape
exactly

Those are his buddies, the others are employees. I can imagine it's hard to retire your friends, especially when they've been by your side almost twenty-something years. But I agree, it's time to clean house if JB is still serious about music. I believe it's a hobby for him, like he has proven himself.

Which album is better ?

Honestly I don't know. But I think that I will this time go for TH, I may change from opinion after a few months.

Between Kibusia Mpimpa and Feux de l'Amour, which do you think is the better debuting solo album?

What about Joss Diena?

So it is over for Anti-Rebel, Cascadeur and the rest of the Atalakus? How will they share a song in 5?

I'm sure they'll work something out so everyone gets space on the generique and sebene songs, because I agree that it's unfair for Gessac to dominate animation when he left years ago and is known for lack of creativity.

Papa Wemba had a fallout with Reddy and Stino about using atalaku's on their albums Etoile and Invitation. But both guys sung together with Wemba on Abu Pia of Fula Ngenge and sung together on multiple concerts (Forest National, Elysee Montmarte, LSC, Zenith de Paris,..). Reddy Amisi also went to Kinshasa on his own to participate with Nouvelle Ecriture and Papa Wemba on a few concerts in Kinshasa after the release of Fula Ngenge.

But Papa Wemba had atalakus on Fula Ngenge and did animation with Koffi on Wake Up, isn't that hypocritical? Lol

I see so missed alot. No one left WMM with Werra's blessing. Werrason sended guys in Europe to get Fabregas deported and Sankara would insult Fabregas for years. Heritier didn't show up on day 2 of the 3 days event at Grand Hotel to present Ingeta, because he felt it like a humiliation in the case Fally Ipupa would come as guest while him being in a uniform (there was already a cold war between both guys since 2003/04). So he decided to leave, seeing that he couldn't justify his absence. He then made a letter to Werrason after he left, wanting to be the first musician to leave peacefully. But Werrason refused to accept his letter, Sankara and ADT Yanki would insult Heritier everytime and Werrason making Heritier's first months and years as solo artist hard behind the scenes. For Heritier it became to much and he started to react through the many internet journalists who were then behind him (Ken Mpiana, Adams Luzolo, Patsho RFI, etc.) and his spokemen.

Why did you hate Heritier back in 2008 until he left WMM? You never explained why

wata was slapped by werra because there was  a fight in front of la zamba and automatically nsone thought  it was heritier's troublesome guys of the chicago 320 gang   and he came and slapped heritier without asking for any explanation, while it was not involving him
it coincided with those who remained with him for the common heritier fabregas fudji abraham workshop putting pressure on him to leave so  wata almost considered leaving until mampata jb seguin and guys like patcho panda stepped in to calm him
in congolese music the blessing thing rarely exists, the closest case i can think of leaving with blessing is pitchou concorde in cultura who went to europe to be with his sadly dead now brother who was in hospital and who asked to be leaving the group and studying music in france
in most cases even if they try the most diplomatic or the biggest mindgame strategy,it almost always explode at some point
example fabro like i said  in a previous thread fearing that heritier takes the workshop guys  to go solo took the gamble to ask heritier to steal his passport for him in kinshasa pretending to receive money via western union while it still had visa and went back to europe to start solo career,he then got sent people to try to kidnap him and bring him back home(an old strategy musicians have been using sometimes even before clan wenge ever existed) then he kinda started peacefully but by the time he settled back in kinshasa to perform he started  attacking werra for allegedly getting his concert banners ripped in kin's streets and things like that and going as far as saying that the day he dies he does not want werra to come and fake being sad
same with heritier he tried going the diplomatic route by handing a resignation letter to leave the group, which last before reaching administration because each of them was scared to be the one who took it and inform werra about it,but by the time  he'd be trying to put in place a peaceful separation on his side and on maison mere's side there was already court jesters attacking other side which instantly turned his attempt of peaceful leaving into the traditional tense departure of big members of the group
leaving peacefully in congolese music is hard very very hard, because in the mind of the leaders its always this guy will be or will see himself as my direct challenger as soon as things pick up for him, especially as in most cases leaders have that ability to sense potential in their musicians even when they have peaked in their groups, they can imagine for example that a ferre or a fally would be a great solo leader  so they'll make sure to try to control the rise to maintain that distance and respect of "you are my children" so you are always behind

What are "workshop guys"? Are those musicians who give lyrics and guitar parts to the main members of a band?

genta was sick but insisted to perform he'll always say "boss i am alright",which he has done throughout his career, the only concert he ever missed for 23 years is when he was gone to village to bury his dad and was forced to let cellulaire handle the concert when he returned
other than that as long as he stands on his feet even with the highest temperature and things like that, he will always say boss i am alright let me do my job

How have the concert with Cellulare went?

if i find the image i will post, cellulaire struggled halfway through the concert as he was starting to lose voice then pajo and benladen did the rest, doing for the first time of their career animation for a long period of jb's presence

Before Cellulaire passed away, was he recovering? If I remember well, didn't he take some time off to rest and find inspiration for new animation? Is Pajo and Benladen good atalakus in your opinion?

I don't know what the reason was. But it created alot of buzz and people excepting that Heritier left (Heritier not showing up to the next FIKIN). But then suddenly Fabregas left and appeared as guest in JB Mpiana's show and his showing some extracts in the studio of his new album Amour Amour through Bjone, after it from nowhere being in Europe and teaming up with Leny Bidens for his album.

Celeo had a song dedicated to Didi Kinuani. He would release the song under the name Egypto in his solo album Nzoto na Nzoto featering Mirage Supersonic. Apparently, Celeo's contribution in Temps Present was minimal. In the unoffical "Simply the best of" (Sans Poteau) he and Flamme Kapaya didn't even participate, Heritier was lucky and quickly put his voice in some songs. This made the rumors spread that Celeo, Heritier, Flamme Kapaya were about to leave and form their own band (for whatever reason Kakol's name was also mentioned), some even going far that they were about to join Didier Lacoste in his project.

Since the start of Congolese music, bandleaders never kept their promises to musicians.

To say that there were no catchy dances anymore isn't true. You had Lopele, Mpunda, Pigeon, Malewa that was a big hit and other bands trying to dance it through other cries (the dance already being a hit before being called Malewa, by the group Zembe Zembe of Brazzaville and like Yako tia of DJ and Kotazo taking all nightclubs over). Everybody danced Kisanola at that time and Kisanola was the most danced dance in the 2000s after Koyimbi-Ko. It was also the last dance that was danced by all bands (Quartier Latin, Maison Mere, Marquis Samourai, etc.). Bands still get dances from shegue's and traditional bands but less compared to the past and atalaku's aren't creative anymore to find good cries for new dances. Another thing that is they since 2010/11 they prefer to take dances from Ivory Coast and Nigeria, thinking that its more special and "world" (lol, so stupid). Fally for example used DJ Arafat's Kpankanka dance in Power, Koffi also used to some dances of DJ Arafat and Toofan.

Did Heritier and Fabregas leave Maison Mere with Werra's blessing? It seems as if they went their own way without any serious polemic.

448
Except for JB Mpiana, everyone sounded horrible. Why won't Genta retire? His voice is shot, he can't handle concerts anymore. He can give cries to younger talent, if he still wants to be active. But he's done enough, make room for Fusee and others.

Temps Present was already finished in 2007 and Flamme Kapaya did the mixing and also brought the final product to Werrason, but Werrason wanting to record another generique (I believe that I knew that Flamme would leave soon). After Flamme they erased all his work except his contribution in Elliot Mondombe’s song (I forgot the title, but Taddet lead there). Thierry Mogratana became the n1 solist but after a few months he decided to go back to Europe to short his papers out. This made Christian become the lead guitarist of WMM.

I excerpted nobody to become a big bandleader because they didn’t had in my opinion the charisma musicians of the 1997-2006 had. I used to hate Heritier back in those days. Heritier left on the right moment, but I believe that he could do also wonder if he left 2011 when Werrason slept him in his face.

What made him slap Heritier? Wow, I thought Heritier couldn't do wrong in Werra's eyes! So that also means that Celeo had his parts deleted as well? Probably a song since it was a group album as well!

The song you're talking about is Retour Interdite. I can't believe Werra wouldn't honor his promise to Flamme, he's given him so many classic solos since Kibusia!

@archos I agree, there was no more catchy dances anymore. I guess they stopped borrowing from shegues, because I feel like animations are either raunchy. You never see atalakus incorporate folklore or gospel songs as cries like before...

Ironiccaly, I liked it. After that Temps Present "Mayi ya Sika" didn't convince me. Before the release, I tought that Techno Malewa would be the end of Werrason after that "version automatique" got leaked. Everybody critized it. But when the album got released, I had something like wow when hearing "version mecanique" of the generique. My favorite song was Salon d'Honnheur and I used to like Diego Music and Par Amour alot. Yeah, the team wasn't a dream team. But the Congolese music-scene had changed. The level of Congolese bands dropped, but people weren't noticing really it, which could be maybe due to the hysteria of the G5-revolution and the public wanting to see bandleaders sing more to be convinced of their singing-abilities since and also solo-albums. Bandleaders were more looking to singers who had some comedy when singing, copycats of Fally and skinny boys.

Bonbon Kojack was left behind in Kinshasa when Wenge Maison Mere went abroad for 6 months in Europe. Accoring to Kene-Kene they did that because, it was rumored that Kene-Kene, Bonbon Kojack and another artist (I don't remember who) would get papers. But that's contradictory if you see that some guys (Miel for example) of the Temps Present-era received papers later on. Anyway, Bonbon Kojack started to have issues with his voices and Werrason used often to humilate him in public during concerts and rehearshals at la zamba playa. There used to be a concert on youtube of them performing at FIKIN, but the channel having that video is closed. Many girls were dissapointed when discovering that Bonbon Kojack was left behind, because he used to have many fans over there. During that period Taddet de Monticule took his role when being in Europe. When Wenge Maison Mere returned he continued to have problems with his voice and at some point he started to become ill. He had only one vocal in Temps Present. In that period it was rumored that he was about to join Ferre Gola's band and even reported in the press, but I don't know what happened. Bonbon Kojack would also miss the trip to Zenith 2008. His problems would become with the day worser. There was a moment that it was reported by the press that Bonbon Kojack died. But luckily he was still alive. It was said that they were already transporting his body to the morgue before that he wake up. Bonbon Kojack would make a comeback when recovering. Werrason let him participate in the videoclips of Techno Malewa volume 1 and was also thinking about giving him a song, but changed his mind on the last minute, preferring to give him that opportunity in volume 2 . Bonbon Kojack would go to Zenith 2010. After Europe tour 2010, he preferred to stay in Europe which made his song being erased from Malewa 2. Years later, Bonbon Kojack claimed that he was victim of spiritual attacks by Taddet de Monticule and Miel de son which made him lose his voice, also how he almost died, the way Taddet took his official girlfriend, etc.

the video of Bonbon Kojack in the hospital

Did Flamme Kapaya participate in Temps Present, if so what songs? He was with them for some concerts in 2007. Also, why did Thierry Mogratana leave? He would of became the number one soloist with Flamme leaving, even Christian Solo and Michel Bass ran away. Werra was losing so many artists.

Wenge MM was crowded. Were there anyone from the new team you expected to have a strong solo career? For me, I had high hopes for Taddet, Heritier, and Cappuccino but only Heritier and Fabregas managed to really graduate into a successful solo career.

Did Heritier leave at the right time? Or should he had left earlier? I believe he was ready to go solo by this album
