Ferre Gola is in Kenya and his second show in the Coastal city of Mombasa planned for last night bounced like the first one which was to take place last weekend in Nairobi. Apparently the first show bounced because he 'missed his flight' to Nairobi.

His handlers in Nairobi have not spoken a word as to why the Mombasa Show bounced even when Ferre Gola already arrived in town couple of days ago.

When he didn't perform in Nairobi as expected, he posted a video on Instagram explaining the circumstances but same has not so far been done for his 'no-show' in Mombasa.

Is anyone here in the picture of whats happening?

Ferre should stop acting like a street artist. He is a big name he should not allow these stupid promoters to handle him casually like this. The guy was flown to Mombasa only for them to be told last minute that the promoter there had not hired hall and equipment. It is embarrassing for him and his name. This is how Defao's downfall started, next we'll hear non payment of accommodation. He also need now to learn English to connect with his English speaking fans. Time is gone for such kind of interviews.

Agreed. He needs make the investment and hire an anglophone manager for anglophone concerts so he can be fully respected. East African promoters don't care even if you're a singer from the Vatican, if there's a way maximize profits (keeping it) they won't hesitate to do so.

Maybe Ferre is not that popular outside Nairobi and Kisumu...

I agree, this could have been bungled by those mentioned above. An artist of Ferre's stature needs a management that can see through to the final elements of his tour. His management should see to it that all aspects of his tours are properly covered before the artist signs a contract rather than flying into Kenya as he did to stay around here for almost a week now without having staged a single show with a band of almost 22, locked up somewhere in an hotel room doing nothing; unless they're here for Christmas holiday.

Seems like now fresh arrangements are being made for local shows when the artist is already here. Big shame to his manager; if he has one.

Hahahahah sure, but fans like us are complaining. True that being in hotel somewhere in Kenya may be better off than being in Kin especially now. On that note, we may be hosting the band in Kenya for a while.

I read comments from Facebook users quoting what they were saying reliable sources that the kenyan promoter lacks seriousness and seems to be struggling to pay bills for the show. It happened to Koffi twice in Zambia, he left Zambian fans angry after refusing to come and join his band on stage because of Zambian promoter's failure to honour agreements so let's not be too quick to judge musicians who  do not want to he conned by broke promoters. It's not just about air tickets and good accomodation, most musicians these days demand an upfront fee so that after the show the promoter doesn't start stories of poor attendance and less revenue as it happens all the time.
