Congolese Music / Re: Which congolese artist should do a verzuz
« on: November 20, 2020, 20:00 »
For those who don't know, Verzuz consists of two challengers in the entertainment industry who plays 20 of their best records on Instagram live and then let the people decided who won. With the most recent battle between two rappers from the states Gucci Mane and Jeezy, but I feel like they need to bring it to the motherland, and where else better to start than congo? In your opinion, which Congolese artists should battle each other? It got to be two legends that got many hit records. I would say at least ten or more. I was thinking Fally versus Ferre Gola would be a dope one, Felix Wazekwa versus Awilo Longomba, J.B Mpiana versus Werrason. I know that a lot of these guys were in a group so they can play the song they wrote while in a group example Werrason can play Kala Yi Boeing in the battle against JB.

for the people that don't understand what I'm talking about, watch the video below for an example of how a Verzuz would look like

Well it would be nice to see Werra Vs JB (but it will never happen)

Koffi vs Wemba (but if course can't happen and it would have never happened even if Papa Wemba would still be here)

Ferré vs Fally (will never happen and even if it did Fally would win even if they put his worst song in there)

Fabregas vs Deplick (but only based on their Maison Mère work it would be so lopsided comparing their solo careers)

Karmapa Vs Wazekwa (it could happen but I don't think they are too much Social Media savy to do a challenge like that)

Extra Musica Zangul vs Extra Musica Nouvel Horizon (but if course Roga Riga would.neber let that happen)

And for the BCBG guys useless to do it since they all have had bad solo careers it would work only with their JB highlights career.

Heritier, Fabregas, But Na Fillet, Innoss B, Rebo etc. can't really make no Versus since they are way too young in solo career except for Fabro who is not going in solo career but doesn't have really any rivals since his synthe style and rhumba playing is unique the Rival could be But Na Fillet but I don't know if is new desrespectful behaviour will make him last long
why would Werrason and J.B never happened weren't they in the same group wenge musica did something happened where it could NEVER EVER be squashed? I heard that it was some tension between Ferre and Fally when he joined QL but NOT beef I think that it would be a tight match but yes fally would win lol Fally Vs J.B would be dope too.
As far as the young artist they got parlay a little bit, the Koffi vs papa wemba battle could happen someone close to him like a viva la musica or Zaiko Langa Langa member could step up and pick their favorite twenty records, and to the artist who are not that tech-savvy I'm sure they got somebody in their camp or family who knows how to set up mics and connect it to an IG live it ain't that hard

It would only be possible if the two artists were on good terms and would not mind the friendly rivalry, so maybe heritier and fabregas?
Of course but beef has and could be squashed through this battle its also known as a culture celebration, Fabregas i know of but does he have any hit records beside mascara ?

Effervescent 100%. Like the line "Ekachaka bala nga, po ba oyo balalaki pressé bakoma ko regretter, pe oyo ba bala te bayoka posa yako convoler."

Eternellement is a good song, but not a real duet, just Koffi doing a few vocals towards the end. I also didn't like the way mabanga messed the song up. The song was about Laura, but since that Laurent Lorenzo bought the song, they kind of played with the lyrics of the song. It normally about a girl, but aaah... That's the negative side of mabanga and donors/fans buying songs.
naw its a duet bro Koffi was singing but got smoked by a young fally lol, I didn't know that donors/fans can buy songs, wow so Koffi don't get any money from that record being played on Spotify, Apple Music, etc

haha lol, I see that you are a real muana poto. Koffi gets money from all his songs played on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, etc. (even those of his musicians, since that they aren't crediting as songwriters in those associations distributing royalties of songwriters and composer). In Congolese music when they are preparing an album, donors and fans mostly contact bandleaders to get a song dedicated to them (giving 15k, 20k, 30k) and the song which was orginally written for a girl living in Matete, Lemba or Limete being changed and her name replaced by the one of the donor. But the donors are mostly men, so sometimes its sounded weird when an artist is hyping about the legs, behind or lips.
I heard Koffi is coming out with a new album ima give him so dough so he can shout me out lol it ain't gon be no 15K 20k tho; the changing of the name sounds weird if a song is about a girl and someone comes and gives me money for that song if I were Koffi would've rewritten the lyrics, so it fits

Which Koffi and Fally duet is the best? Eternellement or Effervescent me personally I'll take Eternelement both are classics tho.

Edit: aight it's clear that most of yall like Effervescent better, the next one is Pharmacien or Insecticide

The story of Sam and Magie has always been the biggest mystery. He said last year that he had vocals on Magie and even sang on the song Meslian, but then he once said years ago that he didn't sing so he needs to stick to one story.

But that being said he can adapt and change his voice to that's in Magie, especially in the album Viagra on the song Zabalumbu he uses same Magie voice, so I don't know at this point. I was hoping he would go to Ado Yuhe and finally clear it up once and for all.

the easy way to settle this is if it's not him singing on magie who is it?

Say what you want about JF Ifonge, but whether he's a faux pastor or not, he would still kick someone's ass especially in a street fight.
Bcbg and Maison Mere guys were lucky that Jf was no longer around when QL were in conflict with both groups resulting in fights and brawls in nightclubs and wherever.
congolese groups had beef like that damn
